Raising my head crest to raise awareness of the Choiseul Crested Pigeon, courtesy of Yowie.

My review of the new CollectA Pteranodon!

http://dinotoyblog.com/2022/02/15/pteranodon-sternbergi-collecta/

Thanks for the review! Do you know if CollectA's sternbergi is in the same scale as Safari's longiceps?

suspsy

I don't think so. The Safari longiceps has a larger body than the sternbergi.

The Safari and the Collecta figures look like they make a great display pair. I agree with you that some female-ver figures would be a good idea, too.

Bokisaurus

Well, my much delayed review of PNSO Torvosaurus.
I originally planned this as a follow up to Biber and Rook's review with the concept of intertwining the reviews together to create two intersecting stories. Unfortunately this review has suffered so many setbacks. After the Biber review that was followed by Andrea and Logan, I was feeling theropod fatigue and I backed out of reviewing this and the GR toys Charcara.
I was also suffering from lack of motivation especially how harshly this model was received upon its release.
There was also a story line involving the Nanmu Apatosaurus that ended in tragedy that forced me to completely edit the Biber review and took it off.
A few month later as I was going over draft reviews, I revisited it and I had enough written that I decided to give it one last shot of finishing it after heavy editing to take out some story that was no longer possible to include ( more on this when I do a BTS for this review). So I signed up for it again for better or worse.
After many more weeks sitting in the draft folder, I decided to post it now or never.
Hope I still did justice to this under-appreciated model. Cheers.

B @Bokisaurus Thanks for the review along with the parasaurolophus, iguanodon, carchorodontosaurus and tarbosaurus for me one of the best PNSO models made in 2021, and it's hard to choose from so many good PNSO models from that year (if not all).

Callophrys

B @Bokisaurus that's an excellent review. I'd resisted getting this figure so far as I thought it looked a bit 'generic theropod', but it's now on my list of figures to acquire this year!

Back to the time when the outback was a paradise, with a look at Yowie's Paradise Parrot.

avatar_indohyus @indohyus Nice and succinct publication of the Paradise Parrot. Yowie makes decent figures of extinct animals with the difference that this company focuses on making species that are recently extinct and unknown to the non-zoological public and which is something we have to thank this toy brand for. My congratulations for your review.

Yowie makes us aware of how human beings and climate change make such a negative dent on animal diversity. Interesting and sad story.

Glad you liked it avatar_Shonisaurus @Shonisaurus . The Forgotten Friends line by Yowie does brilliantly to tell the tale of these poor creatures. History needs to be learnt to prevent it being repeated, and I am all to happy to help teach the lesson.

Nice! I enjoy seeing lesser-known genera and toys get coverage by fellow reviewers.

Yeah, they should be the same size if they're in scale. The only differences are crest size/shape and maybe a slightly longer beak in sternbergi (but probably not, more likely longiceps is just usually reconstructed with a too-short beak).

avatar_indohyus @indohyus Thank you for your review, you have made a fair, impartial and realistic review of that Schleich theropod is for me the favorite of this year 2022. It is a very nice figure.
