I got this guy. I really didn't want to miss out, especially with one of my favorite sauropods, and how long I've waited for them to make a mainline figure when it got that lonely mini back in 2018.

Other then the weird pimple lumps over the neck and body, and the elephant feet, it's pretty decent. Makes up for the fact I'll probably never be able to afford a hypothetical BotM 1/18 Diplodocus as well. I was surprised the nostrils were in the right place (generally). Love the coloration, and I'm impressed that it can be displayed in the classic neck down posture, or a more retro posture (which is how I have it displayed now to save space), along with the head being able to be positioned up or down, and not just the neck. The coloration is great. Mine has very few paint mishaps (a touch of orange on one of the spikes, and some dark streak, or scrape of paint on the neck).

Anyways, pic time. Sorry for the mess, I do live in a motel room with three family members after all, and have limited space I need to make do with. Here's Spaz (front) and Bob too. Bob immediately decided she was going to start grooming herself under it after I set it up there. I did the psspss thing to get Bob's attention for the pic, but Spaz was already waiting there for pets.

avatar_Carnoking @Carnoking HC Pyroraptor is next on the list for me. Gonna probably jump sometime this week on it. Maybe the Scutosaurus as well, since I imagine it will end up in the same situation.

Cats be cats.

Recently I have been spending money on other stuff...like upgrading my shelves to display cabinets, but I also added to my collection.

Jada Jurassic Park Ford Explorer
Zuru Dino Strike Ice Age Brachiosaurus & Amargasaurus
I admit I mainly got the Zuru figures to make sure that Amazon would use a box to send the Explorer. I needed something that was both, light and cheap. So I got a 2 pack of those capsules.Getting some Hasbro Jurassic Park III vibes from the Brachiosaurus.

Matchbox Jurassic Park/World vehicles. Okay, that is probably stretching the term Dinosaur Collectible a bit, but they are at least from a franchise involving them.

Believe it or not, this lot was actually cheaper than my previous plan to only obtain the Jurassic Park vehicles. They are hard to get here in Germany. Sadly none of the TLW vehicles in this lot....
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

I've acquired:

1. Schleich Tawa.  I've finally got past its filaments.  It's a pretty interesting figure of a species I like, I was happy to still find it easily available.

2. CollectA Torvosaurus.  I got another one of this figure as I was thinking of having its base removed and have the figure repainted, but ultimately I've concluded the figure just isn't for me.  I will continue waiting for a satisfactory model of Torvosaurus tanneri.

3. Vitae Sinraptor in its original colour scheme.  After all my experience with Vitae's Sinraptor, with this being the third figure of it that I've owned, I have to say I really do like this figure.  Unlike my first and second copies of this figure, the current one I have is painted satisfactorily.  I like the species it represents and although its skin texture looks a bit unusual, the figure is very good anatomically.  Interestingly, this one I have currently feels different to the other one with the original colouration that I've owned.  This new one feels like it's made out of the same rubbery material as the Schleich blue shark for example.  I don't know if Vitae switched to this material for a later production run, it seems like it, but I'm getting used to this figure being like this.

4. Favorite Coelophysis.  I got it from avatar_SBell @SBell who kindly offered it to me!  I'm happy to finally have this figure, it's another interesting one.  I like having a Coelophysis without feathers as it works better with my Cryolophosaurus and Concavenator that don't have feathers.  It's also a nice size, bigger than my Kaiyodo Coelophysis but smaller than my Safari Coelophysis. :)

SBell

Glad it arrived! And happy to find it a home that would appreciate it!

PrimevalRaptor

Got my hands on the Hammond Collection Scutosaurus, was debating it a bit cause my old Safari one still holds up greatly but it's hard to say no to a surprisingly decent articulated(!) figure of a Permian animal not named Dimetrodon, hoping to see more of those down the line :D

Really glad they also fixed the pupils, you can actually see them now lol

SidB

Yes, it's quite good. Also, agreed that the Safari has weathered the storms of time very well. Got mine years ago and still appreciate this little gem.

Prehistory Resurrection

Two recent acquisitions to my collection:

The first one is not your typical dinosaur collectible. It is a wooden Jurassic Park music box, with which you can play the iconic Jurassic Park theme by turning the lever. I found it at a local computer accessories and gadgets shop. A very cool find and piece of Jurassic Park memorabilia.

The second acquisition is the Mattel JW HC Velociraptor Blue, which I came across at one of my local toy shops. There was also the HC Owen Grady and the HC Giganotosaurus. I might also get Owen; I'll see.

That music box is unique, avatar_Prehistory Resurrection @Prehistory Resurrection  - never knew it existed! Too bad that you can't play it for us, I'd like to hear it.

Quote from: Sim on February 28, 2025, 12:24:14 AMI forgot to mention, the CollectA Medusaceratops is weirdly shrinkwrapped and very muscular in different places.  It doesn't look very good in person.  The CollectA Xenoceratops, despite being made earlier, is more natural looking.  I hope someone else will make a nice Medusaceratops figure, with its appealing anatomy!
That would be good, I agree. Maybe even CollectA could revisit this figure and make it without the infamous "butt fuzz". However, I'd suspect that PNSO or HLG are more likely to make this move. Too bad that Safari seemsto have abandoned ceratopsians; Doug Watson did some outstanding work with them.

Sim

I've acquired the PNSO Basilosaurus!  A better Basilosaurus doesn't seem to be coming from anyone, so I decided to give this one a try...  And I like it a lot!  I got one which had well-painted eyes, in contrast to some others I've seen.  I cut off its barnacles and trimmed a bit off its underbite and now...  I'm satisfied with it! ;D  It's large and very long, it's the second-longest figure I have, the longest being the Eofauna Diplodocus.  I'm so happy to finally have a nice Basilosaurus figure!  I thought it would be a challenge to obtain, but I was able to find it for a good price on Aliexpress.

Just got one of those myself! Surprised how much I enjoy it in hand!

Happy Meal toys: Pachyrhinosaurus and Stygimoloch. They are buildable and come in nice boxes with a collector's card. There are many other species,  including Nasutoceratops, Becklespinax and Dimorphodon, but unfourtunately these were sold out at my branch :'(

Protopatch

It was probably a bad day for the Kaiyodo UHA Dinotales Cladoselache, not for me anyway !
With the PNSO's Dakosaurus, they are both the little newcomers of the day which pleasantly complete my ancient marine animals collection. So wild...
I seize this opportunity to renew my warmest thanks to avatar_Sim @Sim for his great efficiency c):)

Sim

Oh, it was a pleasure working with you avatar_Protopatch @CharlieNovember!  I'm happy they've gone to a good home.  I didn't know the Dakosaurus could achieve such a dynamic pose!  I like your table too!

I gotta say this is a nice looking pnso, I think maybe over looked because its older but, how accurate is it ?

SidB

Two new arrivals from Minizoo down under, both CollectA's.  First the small, but well executed Furcatoceratops. I'm very pleased how, year-by-year, CollectA has upped their game. The paint app is better than it looked in the promo picture, more subtle, with the cream accents on the frill and at the front of the jaws more tan-ish, blending in well with the surrounding face. It displays well with the 1/35 HLG's, so I display it here with their Chasmosaurus and Diaboloceratops, then on the HLG ceratopsian shelf.

The second arrival was CollectA's Ingentia prima. Very nicely done, with a pleasing detail of scalation -

Visiting the Eofauna shelf for a comparison's sake (sorry, it's a bit blurry, because I'm a bit blurry too- it's late):

triceratops83

Unfortunately I'm not getting any CollectA this year - was going to get the Gallimimus but it's too large for what I need. Oh, and Minizoo should be getting all the recent Papo stuff soon, there's a new distributor in Australia now.
In the end it was not guns or bombs that defeated the aliens, but that humblest of all God's creatures... the Tyrannosaurus rex.

JimoAi

Is there any inaccuracies with the Ingentia's digits?

Thanks, avatar_triceratops83 @triceratops83 - that's good to know.

Is the Ingentia prima a bit small for 1/35 ?
