Well I'm rapidly running out of options as far as picking up a Plesiosaurus figure and am very close to the point of throwing up my hands and yelling an (expletive!!).

Why are these thing so hard to come by in some countries - it's just not fair.

The only place I've seen them regularly has been Australia.  Just checked ebay and there is one from Guatemala.

As an Australian I'd really like to know where these Plesiosaurs are regularly seen, because the Dino Rivals distribution here is pitiful. Last new thing I've seen was the Mussaurus wave of attack packs. No sign of Indominus or anything.

Collect Jurassic has posted an in package look at Echo:

Hopefully this means the others will be following soon (such as the Mononykus, the red Dimorphodon, etc).

I've seen only one Battle Damage Plesiosaurus in a Target in North Queensland. But a few have sold on Ebay for enormous prices from Australian sellers.
In the end it was not guns or bombs that defeated the aliens, but that humblest of all God's creatures... the Tyrannosaurus rex.

Guess the 6 inch scale figures will still be coming out, but they have been revised:

https://jurassicoutpost.com/jurassic-world-amber-collection-mattels-6-inch-scale-collectors-line-revealed/

It is nice to see they are able to get the color scheme of the original female raptor mostly right finally (just seems to be missing the stripes on the tail really), so I can only hope that there will be a raptor in the smaller scale with this color scheme. The story pack one is just way too off sadly.

Let me see...Mattel is starting to drop the ball with the main toyline...and these are still coming out...

Mathew Brando was right, six inches are a bad idea.

Mattel can´t properly handle their main toyline with all their distribution problems, unnecessary repaints and such...And they think they are capable to handle another one? ::)

Six inch line means more expensive product, bigger figures with translates into less space for keeping them and also prevent sauropods, vehicles and such to be done in this scale. Better paint and articulation? Why not instead put the money and effort into the main line so those figures can have better paint and articulation?

Because better paint and articulation would result in more expensive figures.  While I can see collectors paying that, the target demographic is probably not gonna pay for that.  Also keep in mind that JW currently does not have a movie in theaters, so it is more or less old news for retailers. Sadly JW is not taken as serious as Star Wars by them.

Brando? That guy is way to full of himself.

As for repaints:

Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

I will admit that some of Brando´s latest videos and attitude has not been my cup of tea. But I still think that his commentary about the six inch figures is perfectly reasonable and relevant to the situation. His latter videos, not so much...

If I had to guess the raptor will be similar sized to the Beasts of the Mesozoic one which will make for fun shenanigans with them if that is the case. I have a few 6 inch figures so I am fine with a 6 inch raptor but it still hurts a bit that when they finally do an accurate JP raptor (give or take the head shape being Blue's and it might be missing the tail stripes, but hopefully the tail is just rotated there and it has them) and it's not even in the original scale.

You are right, I want that JP1 raptor in the regular line. What we got, a bad repaint of the worst raptor mold which is basically imposible to find, but who cares, the figure is not worth your money or time. Instead i have to use the battle damage raptor as a subsitude, but at least that one is a good figure.

Not getting the negativity for Mattel. Cant stand brando myself, only reason he is salty about the JP/JW line is because he wasn't sent the toys to preview for free when he thought that he was the reason Universal used Mattel as their toy manufacturer(give me a break).

Really the only ball drop distribution wise for US collectors was the Target Spinosaurus.  The toys have release dates, which when released early makes it seem like there are distribution issues.  Best example is Big Rock stuff, Target is just putting them out now, because they had a july release date.  Walmart put them out as soon as they got them.  Another would be the Brachiosaurus.  People are freaking out because they pre-sold for certain countries and the US hasn't had that yet. Causing many to say look we are getting screwed again. It has a set release date, we have to wait.

The figures that are only available in other countries like the battle damage sets were TRU exclusives and they went OOB. They sold to whoever would buy them.

Repaints are what keeps the line alive in the downtime between films, and makes Mattel money. its a necessary evil. We will be getting new stuff intermittently with the reg line, new stuff with the Camp Cretaceous Netflix show, and obviously very new things with JW3.

We don't even know where the 6 inch line is going to be sold, so how can we say they will be taking up space that the reg line would have had?

Ceratopsianking

These are cool but I'd rather have the BoTM raptors

Dino Scream3232

Review for the new Battle Damage Pteranodon. Was very happy to this and the Plesiosaurus show up on Walmart site the other day. The Plesiosaurus was sold out before I got to it. Hopefully they'll restock them soon online. Links to the Pteranodon and Plesiosaurus are in the video description. I have mine setup for alerts when the Plesiosaurus come back into stock. https://youtu.be/DoHqkzC-B5A

Flaffy

So basically every single one of Mattel's raptor figures.

Kinda defeats the purpose of having a base and stand. Hopefully it's just the angle making the head look small and the feet look humungous.
I'm glad that a good JP1 raptor is finally getting released. The sad excuse that is the story pack one should be shamed upon.

Don't know how I feel about Mattel tackling a new line, especially since distribution has been so bad, and Mattel doesn't seem to care about fixing it any time soon.

Creature

I need that raptor and the Blue variation. *makes grabby fingers* Colossal Rexy needs more friends in her scale. Or food. I don't think she'd be picky.

I'm 98% a six-inch scale figure collector, so I'm glad these are still happening.

Agreed 100% and in the same boat here. Don't forget the Attack Pack Dimorphodon and the various larger Pteranodon are already in scale with them too.

terrorchicken

looks cool, but the big feet again...why?  its not necessary with the stand included, sigh.

The Atroxious

I'm not even the biggest fan of JP-style "raptors" at this point in my life, but for some reason I kind of like this one. Maybe it's because the hands can be put into a proper theropod position. Maybe it's because nostalgia hits me especially hard when said nostalgia is in 1/12th scale. Maybe it's just because I think it would be fun to have her to serve as an antagonist to my Indoraptor figure. Whatever the reason, I find this "raptor" strangely compelling.

I only wish that since they decided to redo the toy into a JP1 style "raptor", they would have sculpted the head to include those long posterior maxillary teeth that the "raptors" in the first movie had. They certainly changed the jaw hinge, so why not change the teeth too?

Digibasherx

So Toys R Us just posted "Jurassic World Legacy Collection Tyrannosaurus Rex Pack" for 50 CAD.  I'm hoping this means we will see all of the Legacy collection in Canada.

Surprised no one has posted this yet, but first looks at the Amargasaurus in package from Britt Shotts and Collect Jurassic and Jurassic Outpost (Britt's is probably the best look at it though, which is the first link here, as the image from the other sources is low quality):

Another Sauropod, a variety of Dinosaur very under-represented in the Mattel range, I think this is the fourth now?

Pity the Apatosaurus is only available as a mini (not over here though, I might add), given that it has had more screen time than blink and you'll miss it appearances by other species that have been out a while and in the larger sizes.

Guess I'd better keep an eye on the online sellers if I want to add this one to my Sauropod herd.
