Halichoeres

The Late Cretaceous fruit-taxon Viracarpon is probably an early, possibly stem-group, monocot known from the Deccan Traps of India (we have sauropod and abelisaur fossils from here). This paper revises the known material and based on similarity in the structure of the fruit subsumes Coahuilacarpon (from Mexico) into it. Some nice images of the fossils, both photographs and CT scans.
