Oh I love it!
I even enjoy the colours on this one.

ceratopsian

I love it and will definitely buy it - really something to look forward to.  As I had my other CollectA Supreme pterosaurs repainted, I'll probably do the same for this one - but I actually quite like the colour scheme as it is.

Shonisaurus

By the way, did caviramus have such blunt teeth in reality? Is the figure adjusted to scientific standards? I know very little about this pterosaur and sincerely the recreation of Collecta is very striking for its posture and its wings. It seems to be a good figure but I would have liked it to have been as large as the guidraco or dimorphodon, I think it is much smaller than I thought, it is a personal opinion.

Fenestra

After watching the video, I'm under the impression that the Caviramus is only just a little bit smaller than the Dimorphodon.
Ofcourse the Dimorphodon has a far larger "beak" and is a little beefier, but looking at body and wing size, they are not far apart I think.
But we will have to wait for official photos ofcourse.

avatar_suspsy @suspsy A bit late to this, but thank you for passing the news about this delay. I have also seen something mentioned about product delays, and factories being closed due to the coronavirus, etc, in the Vitae thread as well. No doubt I'm sure this means other brands will have been hit too (like PNSO as mentioned). Nonetheless I am more then willing to wait to get my hands on these figures if it means people will stay safe, etc.

Back on prehistoric whale I also hope they make a Livyatan. Might go nicely alongside their Basilosaurus, along with fitting in with the rest of their Cenozoic animal figures. Ambulocetus, Dorudon, and many others would be interesting choices.

And in regards to the Caviramus, I'll be honest I thought this would be a smaller figure and not a supreme sized one. No idea why. The detail work on it looks quite good though, even if I'm not the biggest fan of this particular holiday like color scheme on a pterosaur. I also have to commend them for making pterosaurs in standing poses as well, which seems to be the norm for them as of now.

I would sincerely like Collecta to make flying pterosaurs. They occupy much less space and are sincerely paleoartistically as bright as the pterosaurus resting on the ground. I miss pterosaurs like his Deluxe pteranodon figure, who sincerely belonging to his early era is one of the best prehistoric animal figures of that era. At least I still like that pterosaur.

I t was so refreshing when paleoartists made the move to sculpt resting pterosaurs. Now, maybe it's time for the pendulum to start swinging back the other way, at least somewhat.

Personally I find it much harder to display flying pterosaurs effectively in my cabinets.  I am more inclined to buy walking pterosaurs.

The recent publication of the non-pterodactyloid tracks in France makes me even keener on walking versions in general!

suspsy

I much prefer standing pterosaurs to flying ones.

avatar_ceratopsian @ceratopsian avatar_suspsy @suspsy I like flying pterosaurs as well as resting. Collecta could make both versions of the same pterosaur as Rebor did in his day with his two dimorphodon or Bullyland with the versions of the flying pteranodon (two versions) and the pteranodon at rest.

Prehistoric animals in different situations and postures, like the feathered Tyrannosaurus rex from Collecta, makes a dinosaur toy brand more interesting.

They could make versions (obviously smaller because they would occupy much more space) Collecta del guidraco, dimorphodon, caiuajara and caviramus in flying version or even pterosaur corpses.

The diverse is beautiful.

avatar_Shonisaurus @Shonisaurus That's a really good suggestion to have models available in multiple poses, such as flying or standing pterosaurs. Imagine applying this to other animals in active or resting/sleeping poses too.

Edit: And more corpses too. Been a while since we got any from them.

avatar_Shonisaurus @Shonisaurus - you are right, diversity is good.  And I too am very fond of the Rebor pair of Dimorphodon - the two together make a good display.

Halichoeres

Looking forward to that Caviramus. I personally like a mix of flying and standing pterosaurs, but I wish more flying pterosaurs came with a base or a post.

The wings would need to be detachable, spread out they make about 2/3 of the overall body width. That's a big package in this scale.

Fyi, I do make customs, especially corpses if there is anything you are just "dying" to have... ;)

I pass a Facebook link of the new Collecta 2020 Deluxe protoceratops from the everythingdinosaur page.

https://es-es.facebook.com/EverythingDinosaur/photos/a.186426991391190/2956304461070082/?type=3&theater

Honestly, Collecta's protoceratops shown in the photograph are superior than its prototype image. The marketing of the product according to everythingdinosaur is going to be a matter of weeks.

Here's the picture avatar_Shonisaurus @Shonisaurus was talking about:

Looks pretty good to me, if a bit big for my tastes.

Blade-of-the-Moon

Fits with David's Velociraptor's doesn't it?

Killekor

The CollectA Protoceratops is looking wonderful! For me this is the best figure of this genus I've ever saw until now!

Killekor
Bigger than a camarasaurus,
and with a bite more stronger that the T-Rex bite,
Ticamasaurus is certainly the king of the Jurassic period.

With Balaur feet, dromaeosaurus bite, microraptor wings, and a terrible poison, the Deinoraptor Dromaeonychus is a lethal enemy for the most ferocious hybrid too.

Agreed, the Protoceratops looks pretty good! Most other figures of the genus are so darn small.

Shonisaurus

Finally a well-made and large-sized protoceratops, the UKRD protoceratops was the largest I had in my collection.
