That sounds about right.

Depends on where you live.

Shane delivered my Giganotosaurus within 9 days. Took him months for some people I know in Europe.

Same goes for European collectors that can obtain stuff like Mo Models dinosaurs faster than me where mine could be months away while theirs could be days, weeks or a month or so

Die_Maulquappe

They say such a big model is not in stock. They cast it from the order...so it takes at least 2months to make.

Yes, it's normal.
I had to wait 3 or 4 months for some large resin kits I ordered directly to artists.

Die_Maulquappe

The Apatosaurus has arrived well.
Everything is super detailed and no damage.
Cast ist light but sturdy (was very well packed)

Mine is not installed and not painted.
The Parts ( Neck, Body, Tail big Part, Tail End, 4 x Legs + Base) fit good...there are small gaps.

I will fill them with 2 component expoxy clay...after glueing the parts together.
For texture I will probably make 2 or 3 small skin-stamps with super sculpy from the skin of the model.

For painting I will first look around for a good air brush artist in my region (Frankfurt am Main region)...otherwise I have to paint it myself.
I trust myself doing it well...but I can´t airbrush & I am not sure if it looks good enough with acrylic paint.

It´s really huge. I will post some coparison pics with my sideshop pieces.

It has the matching scale of Apatosaurus compared to my sideshow T.rex and Triceratops!
And it has the scale of an Patagotiotan/Argentinosaurus compared to my Sideshow Apatosaurus & Camarasaurus.

Consider " pinning" the parts it being such a large kit I recommend that.

Die_Maulquappe

what do you mean with *pinning*?

Drill holes into each piece and insert a metal rod into the main body at the various attachment points.  This give much more support than just the glue.

Blade is right. Strongly recommended, especially for such a valuable piece.

I pinned the neck.
And put all together with my A+B epoxy clay.
It´s super tight now like one piece.

It seems most large models are only painted with airbrush.
And finished with some paint.

I don´t find much with acrylic paint alone.

I my region I only find airbrush artists for cars and motor cycles... big things.

Some pegasus hobbies dinosaurs are well painted with acrylic paint.

The Tail end is not fixed now...i will pose it wenn it´s painted and has its place. It´s a space problem...this thins is huge. The body has the size of a small turkey.

Now big one is painted too.
A color scheme like my smaller sideshow Apatosaurus.

Final display with my PNSO African Elephant. Scaling perfectly and illustrates the real dimensions of these majestic animals.

Beautiful! You've built and painted it very nicely.

Wonderful kit and wonderful end result. The colours really suit the beast well.
A very nice addition to your "large" dino collection.  ^-^
