The Zhuchengtyrannus magnus has no lips unfortunately.

On hand pictures of the Machairoceratops.

The paint work looks very bad compared to the exhibition model, it looks like collecta... very far from Caroline the Corythosaurus for example which is beautiful ! Why so much differences?
It seems that PNSO has some paint quality problems lately, with paint differences also on Lucio the Amargasaurus and on Duke Spinops (see PNSO dinosaurs topic)

The weirdest thing about the paint on that Machairoceratops is the nostrils—there's no wash or even just a dark application, so it almost looks like the animal lacks nostrils altogether. Still a great sculpt, though!

Carnoking

These in-hand photos are much better than the first one I saw, which is good to see. Yeah, there's still a dip in quality, but it's much more in line with what we've seen previously.

The lack of wash on the head is alright, this is minor nitpick, but I do really like the color scheme on this one. I will still end up picking this guy up over the other ceratopsians PNSO has made.

Remember the Corythosaurus is a $40 figure, compared to this ceratopsian being $20. I do agree there is a gap in quality comparing the two in terms of paint applications, but saying "it looks like collecta" is an over statement. As well as kind of a jab towards CollectA.

This Figure goes for under 16 Euros on AliExpress. Like most of the other 2020 PNSO Figures. Their Spino ist small, but more expensive, but the Detail and Paintapplication is outstanding. I always think of Production Costs, especially with weird and thin Bodyparts of an Animal.

So yes, the Paintjob differs in Quality, but the Prices do aswell. To me, the Inhand Pictures and Video look like a fantastic, highly detailed Figure for such a Pricetag. It is almost a Joke. These feel quite far away from beeing a Toy.

This is no Fanboywriting, I just think PNSO delivered and delivers unbelievable work here. In the Case with the Amargasaurus, i really do not know. This does not seem right. We still had a harsh Year with Corona and it is not over.

I recently got the Cory, Lambeo and Spinosaurus and i knew they will not look exactly like the Boxart, but they are still better than most other Figures in this Pricerange. At least thats my Opinion. They did to me, what EoFauna did to me, when i held them in my Hands for teh first time. This is why i do all this. Spending Money a should keep on Plastic, prehistoric Animals.

EDIT: avatar_Bread @Bread Exactly! Moreover, the Corytho goes for under 30 on AliExpress.

ceratopsian

In my opinion, PNSO offers very good quality mass-produced models at a cheap price. These new models are not at all expensive.

Patrx

Definitely. For my part, I'm actually happy to spend less and take some time to fix up the paint on my own; it's fun. But, I recognize that not everyone works that way!

Shonisaurus

The paint job is less of a quality compared to the prototype, but it must be admitted that it is a good figure, although here in the photographs the beautiful details of the teeth are not appreciated. I guess the figure in person will be a lot better than the commercial figures.

I agree with you, it remains a superb figure but I find that the difference between the poster and the model in hand is more important than for this year's other PNSO figures. I didn't see a big difference with the microraptor for example or with Lambeosaurus. I was impressed with this one, but I agree that despite everything, PNSO offers the best figures on the market (under 100$) and that I'm a big fan and would buy them all anyway!

EmperorDinobot

So how big are these fine ceratopsians?

I don't understand why the Digimon theme?

Does anyone know what size this one is? Machairoceratops is a small-ish species so if it's "standard size" I might well get it.

I'm on my phone so for some reason I can't get to it but I earlier on my pc I saw I photo of the Machairoceratops on someones hand and it looks smallish, similar in size to the Spinops, maybe a bit smaller even. I think its close in size to Safari's ceratopsids (excluding the Triceratops ). Amazon reports it's size at about 15 cm.

Not surprised if this figure is indeed smaller than Spinops, but I am wondering why PNSO keep it at the same price compared to their other products. Then again, I complain about the price but I am still going to purchase it.

ceratopsian

It's apparently 15.7 cm long (straight line) by 7.9 cm tall.  That sounds pretty well identical to straight-line measurements of the Spinops - but of course, the Spinops has a very strong curve to its tail and so would probably be a bit bigger if one measured along the back and followed the curves.

Bernie Brontosaurus

So when do we get to see this Zhuchengtyrannus???? I'm going nuts with excitement lol!  ;D

I assume it will get a full reveal in a few weeks (anywhere from 2-3 weeks or even more). We have already two figures that have been revealed but only with about two to three images. Those being the Edmontonia and Sinoceratops. I assume that PNSO will release these before the Zhuchengtyrannus. Trust me, I am excited for it too.
