By accident I found these Safari Therizinosaurus on my shelf in this position.  Now I ask myself,  are there any toys or sculptures out there depicting dinosaurs or other prehistoric animals while having sex?
I know some artwork,  but no figures.
P.S. sorry for those silly links under the pictures. This is how postimages.org is earning money...

I've always thought the old Carnegie Dilophosaurus pair would make a good mating scene. Though, they seem to be in intense pain.

Maybe it is a tight fit...

I´m sorry

Isn't the old, big CollectA Tyrannosaurus based on such a scene drawn by Raul Martin?
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

avatar_Mattyonyx @Mattyonyx linked to an image showing some hanky-panky between Papo's Giganotosaurus and Chilesaurus in the Papo new for 2020 thread (http://dinotoyblog.com/forum/index.php?topic=8311.msg245510#msg245510). Unfortunately, the image URL was from Facebook, hence unstable, and I can no longer see the image. Maybe Mattyonyx would be kind enough to share it again here?

Amazing, thanks so much! Here it is again, for posterity:

The Chilesaurus looks so blissful.

I've always loved this T-rex skeletons setting in MUJA (Jurassic museum of Asturias, in northern Spain).

Here's the making of: http://godzillin.blogspot.com/2012/07/el-making-of-de-los-tiranosaurios.html

But I don't know any toys ...

I was thinking of posting that museum exhibit too. When I was there a couple of years ago, someone in our group sent a photo to her young grandson.  Then she realised what the dinosaurs were actually doing.  She was very flustered and embarrassed!

More like Cretacic museum... That's a Tyrannosaurus...  ::)

Ok, I hate that I am going to get alerts for this thread now, but here I am. Just gotta say that I would leave the room laughing if I went home with someone and saw statues of mating dinosaurs. Especially if they looked like that scene in the Spanish museum all roaring and stuff.

In the model horse scene, some people create such customs and it's always odd to say the least. You could say "but Sara, it's natural behaviour!". And I'd reply: "Then why not have a pooping one".
And then of course I'd do a spit take and clutch my pearls if I saw a person had lovingly sculpted a dinosaur taking a huge dump. And then I'd leave and block them on my phone :P

The Papo Pentaceratops had potential but supposedly the mating poses don't work  :( :)

They didn't include any dino guano and I am thankful for that ;)

To be fair, I could see either dinosaurs mating (while tastefully covered) or a dinosaur having recently passed waste, being fine in the background of a large diorama showing a lot of animals, where they need to be all doing different things in order to not look repetitive. You sometimes see such depictions in dioramas set up in museums, or large scenes of animals in books, so in that situation I don't think it would reflect on the character of the person.

With dinosaurs things probably went like birds, everything hidden away from outside view, so it likely wouldn't be nearly so scarring as it could be with horses. However, the ongoing process of passing waste, or "anything" being visible would be quite, bizarre, to be kind.

Personally, I get uncomfortable just with anatomically accurate figures of most mammals, so perhaps that comparative prudishness means I don't see that sort of thing as being that much of a step further. Actually, two animals just leaning against each other, even though I know what it is, as long as everything is obscured it bothers me probably less than getting flashed by a lion every time I want to check the company name printed underneath.

I think we have less chance of seeing toys of mating dinosaurs than we have of seeing toys of mating horses or elephants or chimpanzees. Which is to say, none.

Custom dioramas or model kits aside, figures produced depicting anything like this have the more inherent issue to contend with of just not being versatile. Two animals stuck together, no matter how tasteful, is just not a great way to design those two animals.

Even in another situation, which would you rather buy, a set of turtles designed so they can be stacked on top of each other like they're basking, or a pile of turtles molded together as one big plastic lump. The choice for me would be easy.

Someone actually made figures of mating dinosaurs, and it's none other than Kazunari Araki itself!

He even sculpted the genitalia, ugh.
