I backed the 1/18 and 1/35 Rex bundle. I will for sure pledge the Yutyrannus when that stretch goal is reached!

Angurius on TohoKingdom

I love all the Jurassic movies, plus Disney's Dinosaur

avatar_Stegotyranno420 @Stegotyranno420 It's also their third project, and they have lots of returning backers (including myself) that were looking forward to supporting this. They also have a much wider target audience that is shared between action figure and dinosaur toy collectors, if not others out there as well.

Alright letting folks know that we have reached over $50,000 of the initial $185,000 goal (and it is still the first hour!).

The first couple of stretch goals are as follows:

-1/18th Tyrannosaurus rex (juvenile) $200,000
-1/18th Guanlong wucaii $215,000
-1/18th Yutyrannus hauli $235,000
-1/6th Dilong paradoxus $245,000

It also seems David will be moving on from dinosaurs after this campaign it seems, or at least in the accurate prehistoric sense. He's already begun development on dragons previously, so safe to say there will be more of those, and other things down the road.

I would get the 400 dollar offer, but thats likely a no-no from parents.
Might get the 65 dollar special rex
Which backer reward has the WWD Rex? Theres no labels besides size.

WWD is listed as the 1/35th scale, Special Edition, or SE.

avatar_Lynx @Lynx The WWD Rex is Reward#6 is for $65. The Dinoriders rex is Reward #7 at $210.

Pardon my naivety on the subject of Kickstarter, but will I be able to pledge only for a stretch goal once these are unlocked? I am not too interested in a T Rex to be honest - very much in the other members of the family though!

Yes. Once the stretch goal is unlocked and added as a pledge tier you can pledge for only that stretch goal if you want. This is what happened with the ceratopsian campaign. Edit: They will also be available as add-ons once unlocked as well.

Question, if the stretch goal is met before I get home, (unlikely, just curious) would I be unable to buy any of the backer rewards?

That's great to hear, thank you very much! For the ceratopsian line I got one of the initial models, so I wasn't sure how it worked out if you didn't immediately step in.

Glad to see it's moving forward at such a rapid pace! These T Rexes are absolutely beautiful, of course.

I'm okay with that. Although I wonder how popular sci-fi dinosaurs would be.

No. You will be able to pledge for any of these throughout the duration of the campaign (which ends on October 22). If any of the stretch goals are unlocked and added as separate tiers (which I'm sure will be the case, as it was for the ceratopsian series), then you would be able to pledge for one of those, or add on of those on to your pledge in addition to one of the other rewards.

The only time this is an issue is for limited number backer rewards. A good example of this is the prints (in previous campaigns. Does not appear to be the case here. You would be able to see if a reward is limited as it would say how many of that reward are remaining, or if none are left).

I don't think I'll be buying any of the sci-fi figures
Unless they make like... a sci-fi Microraptor from my nightmares
Then I might buy something like that.

Well, David is an artist who specializes in sci-fi and fantasy; he made his name sculpting dragons for McFarlane Toys, after all. Scientifically accurate dinosaurs are a step down for him in that sense. I seriously doubt I would buy any future dragons or fantasy dinosaurs, but I applaud David for pursuing a dream. I hope it succeeds.

DEAR LORD NO-

If they made models based off of Dragons a Fantasy Made Real then I'd be interested...
Walking With Beasts is the best palaeo media documentary and no one can persuade me otherwise.

Giganotosaurus

So I guess his focus in the future will be fantasy and sci fi, should we not expect any more realistic dinos?

I wouldn't rule realistic dinosaurs out. After three lines of realistic animals I can imagine one would like to let their creativity flow a little more and go more into fantasy territory - but I think realistic animals will always remain a real possibility for the future.

He'll probably make more dinosaurs later, but that most likely won't be a thing for another three or so years.... That's my guess anyways.

After this Tyrannosaur series is over, I wouldn't mind a dragon/sci-fi series. I'd support it as long as there is a 1/30th to 1/40th scale figures.

Faelrin

I've been wanting an action figure of his Arctic dragon sculpt for years now, and he did already do some concept art for it in the past, so I'm definitely willing to get that, at the very least. I also have had a lifelong love of dragons as well.

I figured I would also mention I'm trying to get the word out for both this campaign, and the Mesozoic Life Spinosaurus, which may not succeed unfortunately. I have thrown in links in my instagram profile. Please feel free to reshare.
