Prehistoric animals we'd like made, ordered by year named

I thought it could be interesting to make a list of prehistoric animals that we'd like made into a figure, ordered by the year they were named.  This could show how long animals have been waiting for a good figure representation.  There are a few rules:

1. I'd like to only list species known from decent remains.
2. Resin models and action figures won't count for this.
3. A prehistoric animal can be added to the list if it doesn't have a good figure representation, or if it's only represented well as a very small or very big figure.
4. Species will be listed in different colours.  Blue is for animals that have never been made into a figure, green is for species that are only represented inaccurately, and purple is for species that are only represented well by a figure that's very small or very big.
5. Once a species gets the good version it needs it will be removed from the list.

So, please post the species you'd like to see made!  Discussion about species in the list is welcome. :)

So, this is basically just my wishlist. Some of the species in blue have been made by Paleo-Creatures, but I don't know if those count.

1824 - Megalosaurus
1833 - Hylaeosaurus
1837 - Plateosaurus
1841 - Amphicyon
1845 - Dorudon
1854 - Arthropleura
1856 - Rutiodon
1870 - Xiphactinus
1885 - Camptosaurus
1903 - Ornitholestes
1904 - Placerias
1908 - Paraceratherium
1911 - Moschops
1925 - Australopithecus
1932 - Stenonychosaurus
1935 - Gigantopithecus
1943 - Styxosaurus
1948 - Prionosuchus
1954 - Therizinosaurus
1963 - Herrerasaurus
1964 - Jaekelopterus
1966 - Tullimonstrum
1972 - Gallimimus
1976 - Ouranosaurus
1979 - Maiasaura
1985 - Postosuchus
1993 - Utahraptor
1994 - Ambulocetus
1994 - Cryolophosaurus
2005 - Falcarius
2006 - Tiktaalik
2009 - Armadillosuchus
2014 - Kulindadromeus
2017 - Patagotitan

Shonisaurus

I would like some company to make a deinosuchus and sarcosuchus in the future and also a shonisaurus and shastasaurus in a decent size. Although luckily we have Doug's sarcosuchus from Safari, the best sarcosuchus made to date would like it to be a bit bigger maybe twice as much without being made to scale.

Sim

I've listed what I'd like to see made as a model.  They are as follows:

1831: Rhamphorhynchus muensteri, Dorygnathus banthensis
1834: Nothosaurus mirabilis
1868: Cymbospondylus piscosus
1913: Plateosaurus trossingensis
1924: Saurornithoides mongoliensis
1940: Lufengosaurus huenei
1943: Thalassomedon haningtoni
1959: Saurosuchus galilei
1963: Herrerasaurus ischigualastensis
1969: Riojasaurus incertus
1970: Daspletosaurus torosus
1972: Gallimimus bullatus
1973: Eudimorphodon ranzii
1974: Zanabazar junior
1979: Torvosaurus tanneri
1993: Utahraptor ostrommaysi, Eoraptor lunensis
1998: Suchomimus tenerensis
1999: Sinornithosaurus millenii
2000: Byronosaurus jaffei
2005: Buitreraptor gonzalezorum, Falcarius utahensis
2008: Austroraptor cabazai
2017: Daspletosaurus horneri
2019: Gnathovorax cabreirai

The year is the year the species was named.  In the case of Plateosaurus, my understanding is that recently its type species was changed to P. trossingensis, that's why its year is what it is: https://bioone.org/journals/The-Bulletin-of-Zoological-Nomenclature/volume-76/issue-1/bzn.v76.a042/Opinion-2435-Case-3560--Plateosaurus-Meyer-1837-Dinosauria-Sauropodomorpha/10.21805/bzn.v76.a042.short

I'll add to the list in the first post species that others have posted soon.

For such a home-grown animal, now that's an exotic choice. I'd love one too!

avatar_Sim @Sim Just so you know, I've been compiling a massive list of genera that either have figures still in production but they are inaccurate, retired figures only (accurate or not), or still do not have figures (to my knowledge). I think the color coding idea is a good way to get things across pretty simply and quickly.

Here is a quick preview of what I have put together so far just for the Paleozoic era so far:

I will be gathering/have gathered genera from:
* my post here (with some additions): http://dinotoyblog.com/forum/index.php?topic=8419.0
* the Unique Species Reference List maintained by avatar_Roselaar @Roselaar here: http://dinotoyblog.com/forum/index.php?topic=1369.0
* or from avatar_Halichoeres @Halichoeres collection thread here: http://dinotoyblog.com/forum/index.php?topic=3390.0
* and the DinoToyCollector and ToyAnimalWiki sites.

I will also be compiling a list together for the Mesozoic and Cenozoic (only extinct animals in this case of course), and will expand the above list if necessary, if there are any I might have missed, or others I might be interested in having figures of some day.

I could be wrong about a couple of these (in terms of what has figures and what doesn't, so please correct me if there are issues). Also many of the genera colored orange are not ones I feel need to be remade per se, but I am listing them because they are retired and may be or become hard to get as time goes on, so they may be worth revisiting in the future, eventually.
I'm also gathering the years described from wikipedia and/or Fossilworks, if not the papers themselves, maybe give or take a quick google search too, so if there's anything incorrect, hopefully someone will let me know.

Edit: Hopefully the formatting is fixed now.

I've added to the list a species I'd like to see made, it's Saurosuchus galilei!  I've also added to the list in the first post species chosen by stargatedalek and Loon.  I'll add species chosen by others soon.

avatar_stargatedalek @stargatedalek, Hylonomus is a cool species!  You're right, it has been waiting quite a while.  It's currently the oldest species in the list that doesn't have a figure!

avatar_Loon @Loon, besides species we've both expressed wanting to see made, I too would like to see Styxosaurus, Dorudon and Ambulocetus made.  The early evolution of cetaceans is fascinating!  Early cetaceans are the only prehistoric mammals I'm interested in having figures of.
I'm not counting figures by Paleo-Creatures. I'm also not counting the figures by Kaiyodo that need putting together.  Some other points:
1. I haven't added some genera you chose as I wasn't sure which species of the genus you wanted made.  Could you please tell me which species you want for the following?: Amphicyon, Arthropleura, Rutiodon, Xiphactinus, Jaekelopterus.
2. You've put the year for the genus which is one way of doing it, I'm putting the year for the species, so some of the years are different e.g. Plateosaurus, Dorudon, Styxosaurus.
3. I don't think Rutiodon has ever actually been made as a figure.  I think the Safari toob version represents Machaeroprosopus validus: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Machaeroprosopus
4. I haven't added Australopithecus as there's a figure of it in Safari's Evolution of Man set which is still sold: http://dinotoyblog.com/2016/08/19/evolution-of-man-safariology-by-safari-ltd/
5. I've put Gigantopithecus in orange as there a retired figure of the Disney character: http://dinotoyblog.com/2019/09/09/gigantopithecus-disneys-a-jungle-book-by-just-play/
6. I've put Styxosaurus in blue as I think there's no figure of it.
7. I haven't added Therizinosaurus as its remains are just too poor.
8. A model of Tullimonstrum exists, it's by Medicom.  I've tentatively put it in orange, but I'm waiting for confirmation on whether it's retired and I'll change it if it isn't.
9. I'm not sure I can add Cryolophosaurus to the list. Like you I'd like to see a feathered version of it, but for now I don't feel I can say the Battat, Carnegie Collection and Papo versions are inaccurate.

avatar_GojiraGuy1954 @TheRealSpinoRex, no, the CollectA Torvosaurus represents Torvosaurus gurneyi.

Very nice Thread idea. I will follow this one with great interest as I've already spotted some genera staying on my Wild Past list  O:-)

Shonisaurus

1869 Sarcosuchus
1909 Deinosuchus

Given the impossibility due to force majeure of making these two Rebor crocodiles we need some large crocodiles by some company apart from the fabulous sarcosuchus of Safari.

I've added Appalachiosaurus, Shonisaurus and Thrinaxodon to the list!  So far 2005 is the year with the largest amount of desired species!

avatar_Shonisaurus @Shonisaurus, which species of Deinosuchus and Shastasaurus would you like, e.g. Deinosuchus rugosus, Shastasaurus liangae?  I haven't added Sarcosuchus because the Safari version is a good figure of a decent size.

avatar_Faelrin @Faelrin, I've looked at your post in the thread "What are you still waiting on the definitive version of?", and I have to say you've chosen some interesting species!  I'd only like to list species you'd like to see made.  I can use your aforementioned post to list species you'd like to see made if you'd like?

avatar_DinoToyCollector @DinoToyCollector, thanks!  I look forward to knowing which species are on your list for Wild Past! :)

Shonisaurus

avatar_Sim @Sim I wish the Shastasaurus liangae and the rugged deinosuchus are the most representative as you have indicated. I would like those two scientifically correct and reasonably sized collectible toy figures.

The sarcosuchus imperator by Doug from Safari is very good but I would like a sarcosuchus of the same size as that of the Rebor brand that unfortunately due to production problems is no longer going to be made. Thanks for your quick response.

Faelrin

avatar_Sim @Sim You can, but I've added a few to it since the last time I edited it like Longisquama and Cryodrakon. I can trim it to just what I personally want for here (and of those my most desired ones, and only those without scant remains. I'm still working on it though, maybe in another day or two I could have it done), to make it easier for you. I might have the expanded list in a spoiler in case it is still useful for folks because there is still a surprising ton of obscure genus made into figures, but mainly have retired and/or inaccurate figures made (or some none at all. Edit: or resin, etc only and no toys). Unless another thread would be better suited to such a thing?

avatar_Shonisaurus @Shonisaurus, I've added those two, but with some changes.  "Shastasaurus" liangae has been reclassified in the genus Guanlingsaurus so I've added this species to the list using that name.  From some reading I did Deinosuchus rugosus appears to be dubious, so I've added Deinosuchus riograndensis to the list, this appears to be the species represented by the Carnegie Collection Deinosuchus.

avatar_Faelrin @Faelrin, if you could post your list of species you'd like to see made that would be great!  For genera with more than one species, if you could indicate which species you'd like that would be helpful!  I look forward to seeing your list! :)  With regards to the larger list which isn't only what you'd like to see, I think a new thread for it would be best.

1. I haven't added some genera you chose as I wasn't sure which species of the genus you wanted made.  Could you please tell me which species you want for the following?: Amphicyon, Arthropleura, Rutiodon, Xiphactinus, Jaekelopterus.
1854 Arthropleura armata
1856 Rutiodon carolinensis
1870 Xiphactinus audax
1914 Jaekelopterus rhenaniae
1924 Amphicyon ingens

9. I'm not sure I can add Cryolophosaurus to the list. Like you I'd like to see a feathered version of it, but for now I don't feel I can say the Battat, Carnegie Collection and Papo versions are inaccurate.

I think they're all inaccurate, at least from my novice view. I believe all of them came out before the latest skeletal reconstruction making it more "Dilophosaurus-y". Or maybe it's just that none of them are satisfactory.

Thanks avatar_Loon @Loon!  I've added to the list all those species, including Cryolophosaurus.
