WWD's Sea Monsters actually got it right, minus the detachable tail.

Also, there are two distinct species, one as long as a crocodile, the other about the size of a marine iguana!

Hopefully the next figure we get of one of these takes this into account (assuming it isn't too late). Glad they kind of solved it. It certainly makes sense for it to be aquatic with that kind of neck.

It's interesting to see two drastically different sized species as well.

I think it's pretty much a given that any future Tanystropheus figure from CollectA, PNSO, or Safari will be based on the larger species. Presumably in a swimming pose like an elasmosaur.

Fantastic!!!  Based upon the skull reconstructions of the 2 different species, it appears that the Kaiyodo figure matches with the smaller, longobardicus species.  With the scale constraints I have placed upon my collection, this Kaiyodo figure will now be allowed to join.

Interesting. I'd love to see one in a swimming pose from CollectA or Safari.

Y'know how playmobil have some marine animals designed to float in water? I'd love a Tanystropheus toy from maybe Mattel's Jurassic line (who's plesiosaurs in terms of anatomy was superb by the way), that floats around in the bath haha. This is such a cool find, it's funny I was just drawing these guys feeding like herons the other day 😅
