Thought this was an amazing discovery and had to share it here:

https://siberiantimes.com/other/others/news/first-ever-preserved-grown-up-cave-bear-even-its-nose-is-intact-unearthed-on-the-arctic-island/

It even has most of its face still in tact, including the nose. There was also a semi preserved cub discovered too.

Add this to the ever growing pile of wolves, dogs, lion cubs, rhinos, etc, that have been found due to the thawing permafrost. And even though I've been wanting and waiting for a figure of this species for a while, now we have (or should soon have) some crucial information about its integument that would be of great help, beyond its skeleton.

Wondering if/when a published paper and/or more information on this find will show up, but at least there's some nice images of the intact carcass for now.

That cave bear is well preserved and apart from that a baby has been found. Hopefully Safari or Collecta or another dinosaur company will make a recreation of the cave bear as it can be seen in that perfectly frozen corpse in the future.

Interesting article, Thanks avatar_Faelrin @Faelrin !

Wow, what an awesome find! It's strangely cool to see the teeth and nose of this animal in such a lifelike way, as if the animal was still alive.
Thank you for sharing.
