A bunch of new acanthodian specimens from the Devonian of Scotland are described here (roughly coeval with the famous sarcopterygian Osteolepis panderi). Among them is a new genus and species, Fallodentatus davidsoni ("Davidson's false tooth," in reference to the toothlike gill rakers on the hyoid arches). Markacanthus costulatus, previously known only from scales, also gets some new, more complete material assigned to it.
