Aliexpress is using the EU's One-Stop Shop (OSS) system, so VAT is automatically applied to all EU orders on the site. If your address is in an EU country you should never have to pay extra taxes when receiving a package from Aliexpress, unless your local post office is incapable of reading the shipping label correctly. And in that case, you'd be paying VAT twice.

My apologies avatar_RobinGoodfellow @RobinGoodfellow and avatar_Psittacoraptor @Psittacoraptor, I stand corrected - indeed, through AliExpress I have always had tax included on the website itself, without being charged extra by my mail services.

Ok thanks everyone.
I'll just wait for every seller to have that Baryonyx in stock and see who is the better deal, and wait if I really want to pick this guy up.

Do you have the product in hand? Interested in how your so sure it's really bad from so photos unless you have received this before everyone else?

Or, do you mean (given you put a photo of the JWFK Baryonyx) that the painting does not look close enough to the source material?

SenSx

It's more the later I think  ;)

Probably because it does not have that blue shade here and there on the whole body.
Yes it could have been better, the grey version dones not have a complex paint job but I'm fine with it.

I am a broken reccord, but I feel more concerned about the size; 10cm hip height, it is going to be bigger than the Nanmu Carnotaurus, it should not be right ?

I think avatar_blnadal @blnadal's opinion on the figure is really due to the bland look of the final product. I am not going to lie but I feel the same. It seems to me this figure is lacking in color compared to its film counterpart. I also feel like this blue figure represents the Camp Cretaceous counterpart over the film's version.

Anyways, I think the brown/mustard variant looks better than the blue. A first time I really prefer the non-film variant.

And even for CC version, I still think it's a bit off, I don't know..
I will wait for reviews, but for now, I ain't going to buy this lady

Vegeta365

I think the CC baryonyx and FK chaos baryonyx are meant to be the same barry. Not certain, and it may be confirmed to be the case but I was under the impression they are the same Dino.

It's interesting that Nanmu went with the blue Baryonyx  colour scheme but yet didn't match it as accurately as they normally do.

paleochris

I still don't know what to think about this Baryonyx Nanmu. It is not scientifically accurate so I don't like it at all, the head is not at all correct and even very ugly, and yet I must admit that the sculpture is beautiful and almost desirable to buy!

grrr if Nanmu did like PNSO....dream, we would have such fabulous figures ! Let them definitely leave JW out!

Yep, maybe we will get a PNSO Baryonyx ?

I was under the impression that Nanmu does not 100% copy the dinos from the JP franchise as they are unlicensed. Hence, they make minor deviations to avoid copyright infringement. That's why the future king has a more prominent nasal ridge. I think they did the same with the paint of this JW Baryonyx. The brown parasaurolophus lacks the red dorsal color. Mordred looks more like a Monster Hunter creature than a JP franchise creation  :D

Future King has a more prominent ridge because it's a male based on the one from The Lost World. It has  a different look to the female and a more boxy head.  They did basically copy the body from the last Sideshow Dinosauria Rex but that's beside the point.

Mordred just is very lightly inspired by the old Kenner toy, unreleased as well. They could have probably copied i blow for blow and got away with it but the didn't mores the pity.

In other news, if you preordered the Baryonyx from Lana and only did the deposit down you have to go and complete the rest of the payment from the item page before shipping, found out tonight talking with them there was no contact to remind anyone about it.   Also the Parasaurolophus should be coming up for preorder around the time the Brachiosaurus ships.

Shonisaurus

Honestly the product is very good, Nanmu's baryonyx is quite good and very well sculpted, I particularly like the highly conservative paint colors, I suppose that having body parts of the noble material figure (resin) will make it more expensive the product.

Darn, I was hoping to see how it went on the larger base. I haven't been able to make out a peg on that one, so I'm wondering if this min base just sort of "slots" onto it. Still, the fact that the base comes detached gives me hope that if you get the set with the larger base then you would still be able to display the standing one separately if you so desire.

It seems the obvious route but I've only ever seen photos of the thing installed on the bases so I can never tell what the deal is.

I'm assuming there is either a metal peg on the base, but you can get the laying version so maybe not?  It is possible the small base that come with the running does just sit near it. I haven't found a good overhead pic of the set.

Sturisoma

Mystery solved. The big base has a metal peg for the standing version to attach to.
