MIXVS MINIMAX

Hi hi hi Droogies,

I recenty bought myself a 3D-printer (fluid resin, hardened by UV) with a resolution in Z-axis of 0,01mm. Thats a cool machine and I went instantly for some dinostuff in the net.
But the internet is big.

I guess for anyone who has such machine at home, it would be usefull to talk about where to find files (for free or not) to print them at home.

My first suggestion is CGTrader

Shunosaurus by https://www.cgtrader.com/telergystudio

or Dunkleosteon by https://www.cgtrader.com/dca-tabletop

or Moschops by https://www.cgtrader.com/veerasankhla98

or Diplocaudus by https://www.cgtrader.com/anubisstudios

Second platform ist Thingiverse https://www.thingiverse.com

Dimetrodon  by Ministerart (https://www.thingiverse.com/ministerart/designs)

That Moschops is stolen from ARK Survival Evolved. Presumably ripped directly from the mod kit.

CGTrader is in general not well moderated and if at all possible I discourage from purchasing through it, as odds are high models there are stolen.

I recommend using Thingiverse, as A) the site is actually intended specifically for 3D printing files, and B) if a model on there is stolen you aren't paying for it.

That's the problem for artists when outsourcing the production, indeed. This step should be well calculated.

There is no matching result when searching for Moschops at Thingiverse anymore.

I'm a little involved in the 3D printing world. Printing files ripped from video games is not really frowned on, at least in the circles I frequent. Maybe if it was sold to others as their own work, possibly.

Usually the case with game models is most of the detailing is texture mapping work, that without major modifications won't even show up on a 3D printed model.l because the geometry isn't there. It's essentially just painted on.

Most artist don't seem to even mind, and there's no way to actually stop people from accessing the game's files to begin with. So there's a degree of expectancy with it to begin with.

I do agree that paying to utilize a model they didnt build in the first place is bad, though.

I have been using a 3d printer for a long time and the most trusted site that has free 3d models is Thingiverse. I find many ideas on upcoming slots.  There are a lot of absolutely useless 3D models, but among them, you can also find worthy options, albeit the most famous types of dinosaurs. For example, the T-rex, Triceratops, and this less popular Ankylosaurus.

But after a couple of years of using a 3D printer, I realized that if I want to make a really high-quality model, then I will have to pay for it. And so I find them either on cgtrader or order from freelancers.
