Mattel released an Ouranosaurus for its 2021 Dino Escape line and it looks pretty close to the one that appeared in this clip, except for the coloration. The one in the JW Evolution game also looks pretty close but is more beefy and has a hump instead of a sail. Quite shocked by the aggressiveness of the Ouranosaurus in this clip, was expecting a docile herbivore instead.

I would have never expected this to be one of the franchise's herbivores at some point. Love the addition. The aggression is surprising, but I wonder if there's any reason for it (such as it being territorial, alone, etc). Guess it explains the patterning on the sail of the toy, and that despite some similarity to the JWE one, it doesn't seem directly based on it (as was the case for the Carcharodontosaurus), since it was clearly based on the one here (though I wonder if the show took inspiration from the JWE design?). Not sure if the limbs on the toy are accurate to the one seen in this clip though. Still looks like there is an extra digit on the toy when compared to what we can see in this clip of the limbs, but granted it isn't exactly the best look at it either, considering all the fog.

Other then the number of digits on the forelimbs, it looks like the coloring on the snout is a bit different. More blue along it, then just at the front, but that is a minor difference. Possible the actual toy could be more faithful then what the promo pic shows.

Hopefully there will be a better look at this animal in the show, beyond the scene here.

Honestly though between the

and now the Ouranosaurus, I am loving that they are finally adding in new animals that might not have gotten a chance at being in the film(s).

Gwangi

To be fair, some of the most dangerous and aggressive animals alive today are herbivores. Diet has nothing to do with temperament. In this instance it looks like the animal is likely on edge due to being in a foggy, unfamiliar environment. Excited to see Ouranosaurus get some screen time, and I also can't wait for the toy release.

Carnoking

This was an awesome surprise, and I love seeing some herbivore aggression!

Gothmog the Baryonyx

I am extremely pleased to see an aggressive herbivore, especially an Ornithopod. I hope they don't find a way to ruin it. The YouTube comments are already annoying enough.

How did Mattel mess up this badly? Even the model in the show itself only has 5 digits on it's forelimbs (which also means the explanation/excuse that the figure is screen accurate to an inaccurate JW design is rendered moot).

It's a darn shame how some sculptors at mattel don't seem to bother actually using the references they're provided with.

avatar_Gwangi @Gwangi That is a very good point, something I really didn't give much consideration of at the time, mostly just because we are so used to herbivores in JP/JW as being docile (well much of the time, even more so for anything that doesn't have horns or spikes). Extant fauna like water buffalo, elephants, rhinos, moose, etc are probably good example of dangerous herbivores, so there's probably no real reason why a huge animal like an Ouranosaurus, if not another ornithopod couldn't have been.

avatar_Flaffy @Flaffy So it really is as I feared. That screenshot seals the deal on that. What a shame, as that is not only inaccurate to the real animal, but the one in the show as well. Also looking at that forelimb, it also reminds me of those ornithopod hands in JWE, which seem to share that webbed look (though looking at it in game currently, don't think that actually applied to the Ouranosaurus itself, but more so the hadrosaurs). Come to think of it though, the running animation looked right out of JWE as well.
