Still, I'm still getting it since since Mattel doesn't have a track record of making new molds of the big bad theropods that are not T.rex (Spino and I.rex only got repaints and battle damage retools).

All the more reason to support the Hammond Collection! (we've already got a HC Tyrannosaurus coming; so if it sells well, maybe Mattel will consider releasing more large species in the HC line too)

That depends whether or not they are available in my country. If not, I won't make the effort to import them with only a couple of exceptions.

Fair enough, Mattel's distribution is well known for being shoddy. Still missing the entire Hammond Collection, mini blind boxes, and character two packs here in the UK.

These Toymonster minis are certainly giving Mattel's ones a run for their money. (though for the sake of your ears, mute the following videos)

Video highlights:
1. full list of figures
2. Atrociraptor
3. Quetzalcoatlus & Dimetrodon
4. robo-arm Baryonyx
5. Therizinosaurus, Atrociraptors, Giganotosaurus

Giganotosaurus

People telling me that the smaller Hammond Collection Baryonyx is actually better in scale for 1/18 than the mainline ones. Pretty cool, I hope Mattel makes a HC Carnotaurus for the same reason..

avatar_Giganotosaurus @Giganotosaurus I would very much like to see that. Also Pyroraptor, Giganotosaurus, the BaBR/Dominion Allosaurus, TLW Buck, Pachycephalosaurus, Spinosaurus, and the JPIII raptors are high on my wishlist for such. Also the Corythosaurus and JPIII Ankylosaurus which have been forgotten thus far. Though I wonder how long the Mattel line will stick around after Dominion's release. I mean it is pretty successful, but having CC in between FK and Dominion helped fill in their releases too.

Giganotosaurus

I didn't even think about how the Jurassic media franchise ending this summer could end the Mattel line! I just assumed it would keep on going!  Not good, but I suppose should be expected. :(

Well there is still plenty of fertile ground for Mattel to tread if they wish to. Lots of different playset, vehicles, and characters still left. In addition to a long list of prehistoric animals. Then there's also the likelihood that this franchise will continue past Jurassic World in some capacity. The fact that they just launched the Hammond Collection makes me think they aren't ending anytime soon. Still, the line will inevitable end, eventually. It will be bittersweet. Keeping up with Mattel over the years has been...costly, even though I'm pretty selective about what I buy. With their short shelf life I'm always prioritizing Mattel over other companies which has caused me to fall behind on the other brands that I collect. A break from Mattel would not be wholly unwelcome.

Carnoking

They've been producing toys for a solid four years now (my gosh, where does the time go).
In that time, they've managed to do a couple of lines that weren't direct tie-ins to any film/show (Primal Attack and Dino Rivals) all while padding the Camp Cretaceous lines with various species I never would have expected to see. Sure, some of those "off" lines incorporated familiar faces yet to be done in toy form but I still think it'll be some time before Mattel runs out of ideas. Even beyond just going back and re-releasing everything in the Hammond line, or finishing out  legacy characters and species in the standard line, there's never not a demand for cool dinosaur toys, and no shortage is species they can look to for inspiration. And that's before even mentioning the possibility for other tie-in shows or films that would need their own toys!

Hey, Spin Master kept the How To Train Your Dragon toyline going for at least a couple years after the last movie came out, and that's a much smaller franchise than Jurassic Park. (I'm sure there are other examples of this too, that's just the one I know.)

More like on life support considering how far the quality dropped for the dragons. O:-)

True. Although I'm just saying that we shouldn't expect Mattel to stop making Jurassic toys just because the movies end.

Thanks to a very helpful Target employee, I got the first of what I'm sure will be many Dominion products for the collection. Didn't want to run him ragged grabbing every little thing on my list from the back, so I kept it to the items listed as "limited stock". He was kind enough to inform me they're expecting to get even more figures on the 23rd and will be doing their reset then. A couple more days, and my hunt can officially begin! For now, I'm satisfied with these four.

Meanwhile, the rex was an online pickup, and it showed up at the same time as a first edition copy of the original book! More than 30 years later, and it's all lead to this!

Flaffy

Congrats on the haul! That Dilophosaurus deco is easily the best mainline one's Mattel has ever done.

Faelrin

avatar_Carnoking @Carnoking Congrats on all the haul. Lots of stuff there I need to pick up still.

My ED Dimetrodon arrived today, and is my first mainline Dominion figure. It's not much, but I really like this figure. It's a massive improvement to the original released in 2019. I think the only think detracting from it is the jawline is smooth/missing the notch, and the teeth are dull and lacking their distinctive shape. Also seems to be lacking lips that the film design has, but another minor issue. The skull is definitely much more closer to the real animal's, again minus the notch and teeth, compared with the original 2019 one, and each limb has the correct number of 5 digits compared with the original's 3. I also like the coloration, though wish it extended all the way down the sail, and I also like the addition of the neck articulation, though a bit of the sail does move with it as a consequence. I think it would have been better if the neck moved separately from the sail, but it is what it is.

CityRaptor

I don't think that the notch on the skull is such an issue depending on what species of Dimetrodon it is supposed to be.

In theory it could even be a hybrid using DNA from several species.
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

Where did you get the ED Dimetrodon avatar_Faelrin @Faelrin? I've found most of what I want from this wave but haven't seen the Dimetrodon in stores or online.

I've only seen it on walmart.com where I ordered mine and in others store pics.

Gwangi

I was kind of afraid of that, it's not on walmart.com right now. My Walmart isn't stocked with Dominion yet so hopefully it shows up there.

avatar_Gwangi @Gwangi Sorry I got it from Walmart's website. I shared the link a few days back in this post linked below when it was in stock and that was when I ordered it too. Sorry you missed it. I would just keep eyes out on the link in my post for when it goes back into stock so you can get one. Or hopefully your nearest store(s) carry it in due time.

avatar_CityRaptor @CityRaptor Oh that's interesting. I knew Dimetrodon had a ton of species but didn't realize they also have so much variation in jaw shape. I really do hope we can get some confirmation from like Trevorrow or whoever on what species the Dimetrodon and Lystrosaurus (which will determine if it a Permian or Triassic species, also size) are based on.

Checked out one of my local Targets yesterday (forgot to post then) ...

Ah... Reminds me of when the Fallen Kingdom toys came out and I found nearly everything at one Target after several strike-outs, and filled a whole cart with plastic dinosaurs and vehicles. Good times. This one was missing some things, but I still walked away with a sizable score.

To me, the giganotosaurus(mainline and colossal) looks fantastic.
Any Giganotosauruses are friends. Any other carnivores are...I think I'll run now.
