Geoworld: Jurassic Hunters + More!

I know there are already a few other threads out there on the Geoworld: Jurassic Hunters collection, but I thought I might start my own and also have it be a thread for all Geoworld prehistoric products, so feel free to share your pictures and thoughts too!

For those of you who don't know, Jurassic Hunters is a new line of prehistoric figures from Geoworld introduced in 2012. Geoworld was founded by Italian paleontologist Dr. Stefano Piccini. In just about a year, the collection has expanded to include 90 (yes, really 90) figures representing 90 different species. They are introduced periodically in waves known as "Expeditions" with 36 dinosaur species in the 1st Expedition, 36 more in the 2nd Expedition and finally (so far) with 18 prehistoric mammals in the 3rd Expedition.

While there are some figures which are not the most anatomically correct, nor are they as detailed as some of the other figure lines out there, the Jurassic Hunters as a whole are, in my eyes at least, pretty fantastic. The figures are not in scale with each other, but the scale for each figure is stated.

Now here's the twist to Jurassic Hunters which makes it stand out against every other company and figure line out there. Every single figure comes with what is known as a data card. This double-sided card gives a quite surprisingly, very detailed analysis on the species which the card represents, including things such as the height/weight/length, place of origin, when it lived, etc., as well as a few paragraghs about the species. I know what you are thinking. "What do I do with these data cards that I collect?" Well, you put them into the Jurassic Hunters Field Guide of course! The Field Guide (sold seperately), is a small binder made to hold the Jurassic Hunter data cards. It already includes 36 pages detailing things such as what fossils are, what dinosaurs are, dinsaur hunters in history, and much more! So let's see what we got here... 36 pages with the Field Guide plus the 90 data cards... You're looking at an 126 page prehistoric encyclopedia which you essentially made yourself! I think this is a simply genious idea and concept, which will make Jurassic Hunters last for a long time to come.

As of the time of me writing this post, I unfortunately only own one figure, the Velociraptor. I ordered the Tyrannosaurus rex from Amazon.com, so it should be here in a few days (expect pictures then). However, I do also own the Field Guide. Well, thats enough of my rambling on how great this collection is. Time for some pictures to show it off! (I will link to some of the less exciting pictures. Sorry about the pictures not being so great. My digital camera is not the best.)

Front packaging of a Jurassic Hunters figure. I'm not a huge fan of the packaging. It is a very cool design, but the data card on the inside seems to come a bit curved and/or bent. At least mine was that way.

The data cards are a magnificent idea and they'd be really good if they didn't have mistakes on them. The Velociraptor card says it was discovered in the 1970s by a Polish-Mongolian expedition, when it was found much earlier by an American party (hence why the whole Velociraptor/Deinonychus lumping that Greg Paul did was possible).

 Right now all I have is the Troodon. I do plan on working to own the entire jurassic hunters collection. No mater how bad some are, heck I think they all look better then collectas originals.
