Thank goodness we have companies like Safari and CollectA, who know that dinosaur products should be educational - and therefore scientifically credible - partially because kids often get their impressions of prehistoric life from these "toys".

I think Schleich toys are educational in that we are forced to review all the inaccuracies  ;D  We can learn a lot of paleontology at the expense of their anatomical gaffes.

That's a great point! I've learned a lot about palaeobiology, taphonomy, and general anatomy over the years by reading reviews of toys on the Blog.

Reptilia, I really don't mind if the CollectA Kronosaurus's dentition inaccuracy doesn't matter to you or someone else, people can have different opinions about things like this and I respect that.  I have a problem with calling it nitpicky though, as that's no longer saying how you feel about it, it's criticising someone else for their valid opinion.  It implies that others should feel the same as you about it and if they don't they're being overly critical.

By the way, are you the same person as Charlie P. and Charlie 2.0?: http://dinotoyblog.com/forum/index.php?topic=4480.0  You've been strongly reminding me of them.  If you are the same person, as I think, I hope you won't go and remove all the content of your posts again.

Sim, that's what now, the fifth or sixth time you've brought up the dentition? You made your point a long time ago, so could you please give it a rest already?

Yes! Finally!
I do hope that shark ray gets released soon, the Schleich one is painful to look at.

suspsy

I'm disappointed that the ivory-billed woodpecker is a summer release. Oh well.

Again thanks for the heads up on the availability of the first batch of this year's crop of releases from CollectA,Suspy!Fortunately for me,this first wave includes the Styracosaurus and Excalibosaurus. ;D
Don't you hate it when you legitimately compliment someone's mustache and she gets angry with you?

You're misrepresenting what I said.  I'm not discussing the dentition inaccuracy, I'm saying that both opinions should be respected, not just one.  I've not been responding to your repeated disrespectful comments towards me and others in this discussion.  I will now though just to say that I have noticed them and that I won't be entering into a pointless argument with you.

At long last! Just put in my order, can't wait for that beautiful Krono! I really like this figure and the video with some comparison to the WS really made me want it even more. To me, The CollectA version looks more alive and better visually. I like the WS version, but the white cheeks just bothers me, it looks so unnatural to me. They could have colored it different instead of just pure white.
Also, the overall color application looks very sharp, very unnatural, almost looks like a stencil or photoshop :(, plus I already have too many marine reptile with black and white colors :))
Mine also suffered the curling flippers syndrome, and it seems to be getting worse and worse, and I only has it for a month or so.
Cheers!

And given your blatant prevarication in the post above, Sim, I can truly say that I'm grateful. I shake the dust from my feet.

You're welcome! I'm going to have to hold off till the weekend before I place my order. I can't wait to see how the Styracosaurus looks alongside all my other ceratopsians.

Too bad Uintatherium is part of the second wave, after the Kronosaurus is the one I'm most excited for.

I am a collector but both fabulous. I have fortunately the kronosaurus Safari and it is a magnificent figure but also Collecta every toy company and these two dedicated to collectors and children in general has its own philosophy.

Each figure I like with its peculiarities one by its conservative colors (Kronosaurus Collecta) and another by its color and its mobility (kronosaurus Safari). Both companies are the best in the toy market today.

Our first stocks of CollectA dinos have already sold out - but we will have some more available for shipping from tomorrow. Will have them available for ordering on the website in a few hours from now.

Thanks for all your support - it is much appreciated!

suspsy

Wow. Hope the restock lasts out long enough until the weekend. Good to know that CollectA is selling well!

Same thing happened with the Safari releases. A lot of them got out of stock really quickly in Everything dinosaur.

This is good, because it shows that people like the accurate figures that Safari and Collecta make and there´s a lot of support to these companies. Hopefully this trend continues for years to come (The only thing that could make this better is if they manage to surpass Schleich, although that´s difficult, sadly...)

That indicates that they are figures of quality, when they sell so fast. Collecta along with Safari are the best dinosaur companies.

As for Schleich is intended for non-collectors, and is sold because they are sued by children. It's the sad reality.

BlueKrono

It is really sad when children feel the need to sue people.
