Quote from: Fembrogon on February 16, 2023, 11:26:05 PMAdmittedly the Stygimoloch wouldn't have been my first choice for a Safari rep. If we care enough to change it, might I suggest the new Cryolophosaurus, if it fits the spot?

What Stygimoloch?  :P

I also bumped up the overall opacity by 10%

Fembrogon

Haha, will you look at that! Very nice.

Looks great, but is the idea that it's all figures from 2022 or 2023? If so, that PNSO Tylosaurus was out in September 2021.

The idea is that it's a mix of recently released figures, representing a wide variety of brands and taxa, that fit together nicely! I tried to stick to 2022/23 but I wasn't precious about it and the Tylosaurus has such a lovely shape to balance with the Ruyangosaurus.

It's not just the Tylosaurus, the CollectA ammonite is also from 2021 and the mini CollectA Daeodon is from 2019.  I don't know when the Mattel figures in the current banner are from but I think at least the Pteranodon isn't a 2023 figure.  Personally I was happy to see the PNSO Tylosaurus as it's such a good figure.

On a different note, would it be possible to swap the Mattel spinosaurid and Creative Beast Utahraptor's places and size?  I think the Utahraptor is a better and more interesting figure than the Mattel and it's also the only CB figure in the banner while there are three Mattel... and five CollectA.  At the moment on my screen the Utahraptor can only be clearly seen on the right edge of the banner...  I preferred the banner before the most recent change, when the Utahraptor was above the Mattel spinosaurid and clearly seen... but it would be the best if it swapped with the Mattel spinosaurid as I've suggested.

It's nice to have a figure by Doug in the banner.  Also, I've just noticed the banner has two species that coexisted with each other: the Utahraptor and Gastonia!  They make an interesting pair!

Yes, it does :) . I like the new banner! Nice that you've included the upcoming Wild Past Scutosaurus.

I tried this but they didn't fit as well that way.

I have a new setup that will make updating the banners easier and so much more regular, so I'll try to put a Creative Beasts dromaeosaur more prominently in the next banner.

Thanks for trying it avatar_DinoToyForum @DinoToyForum!  And thanks for the thought regarding a CB dromaeosaurid in the next banner, but you don't need to try to do that, just do what works best. :)  I'm happy the CB Utahraptor is in this banner, and there's also the CB Dromaeosaurus in the blog's banner.

Imma be honest, whatever you have to do to justify the PNSO Tylosaurus, do it. It's absolutely a stellar figure. That said, I'm not exactly a fan of penalizing either the Mattel Irritator or the BoTM Utahraptor. If anything I'd swap the BoTM Utah with a released figure. The rest of these are released.

I like the species in this one. My one suggestion would be flipping the quadruped behind the M so we could see its face. That Daeodon is a great figure.

The words will cover different animals depending on the screen width, and locks at a maximum width on a large computer monitor. Drag your window to different widths (if on a computer), or rotate your device on a phone or tablet and you'll see this in action. It has to be responsive this way to be mobile friendly. But it means I can't predict how the animals interact with the letters - what works for one person might not work for another.

If you mean the Wild Past Scutosaurus, it is pointing to the right, so it should peek out from behind the M if it is partly covered?

Stegotyranno420

The new banner is great, though personally I would had put PNSO's Acrocanthosaurus or Giganotosaurs in place of that Mattel theropod.(minor nitpick/preference)
But once again, it is a great banner.

No, I was indeed referring to the Daeodon. I haven't used a computer in years, and I have my mobile locked so the screen doesn't flip. Interesting that the positioning changes based on screen size though.

Ah, that means you won't see all the other creatures on the right of the banner. The graphic is 700 odd pixels wide and then repeats on screens wider than that.

Here's the whole thing in isolation:

If I mirrored the Daeodon its rump might be protruding from behind the T on someone else's screen.

If anyone is curious, I'll be working on the ATF banner probably next month. Adam and I discussed offline and we thought we'd give Safari a few months to announce something for the ATF. If not, we will proceed without them.

No, not all of the other figures are released. I know the Papo Kronosaurus and Wild Past Scutosaurus are not released.

I didn't know there was a trilobite in the banner.  On my screen its covered by letters.  I prefer it that way though as I don't find it interesting.

I keep forgetting that the Safari Cryolophosaurus exists.

Wasn't that trilobite in a previous banner too?  It's a bit strange to have it in two banners...

Yeah, I think it was. It's a good one to fit into awkward spaces.
