Hopefully shipping soon... super psyched!

Would've been really cool if the JWD Prologue Tyrannosaurus design looked like this. Just enough stylisation to make it JP-esque, but also more true to the real deal than "Rexy with fuzz glued-on".

Really formidable, avatar_Over9K @Over9K . I can see why you're excited about this one. Lips and all!

Remko

I have mixed feelings about this.
I considered getting the W-Dragon Giganotosaurus, but decided not too because of the Godzilla look.

This Tyrannosaurus looks good, and doesn't look good at the same time. Something is "off" with it, but can't put my fingers on it.
I'll wait until I have seen some reviews of this figure before deciding if I'll get it or not.

In my opinion, the way W-Dragon departed from doing accurate dinosaurs after their fantastic Giraffatitan, is a big shame, as they show to really have the skills to make truly outstanding figures.

It looks like an interesting mix of Jurassic Park Rexy design, with a semi-accurate real world design. I am eagerly awaiting more info, as well as pricing!

Exactly! I'm still sad about the turn. Excellent craftsmanship - it's a pity :'( .

1/35th scale, Rotocast PVC, includes two heads, one open mouth, one closed, and a polystone base. Pre-orders started last September, but you can still get on the pre-order at Sugo Toys, in Australia. They seem to be the only mainstream Western source that is carrying W-Dragon at the moment. Current price is $84USD, plus $30USD to ship it to the US.

I have one ordered through Sugotoys. Haven't heard anything about shipping as of yet on it though.

The Allosaurus and Giraffatitan were so great. But I guess they know where their bread is buttered: pop culture fandom.
In the kingdom of the blind, better take public transit. Well, in the kingdom of the sighted, too, really--almost everyone is a terrible driver.

Until this past week, the estimated release date was "May 2023", but as of 6/1 that has been changed to "Within 2023"... not exactly confidence inspiring...

ouch. hopefully its not canceled.  I dont see any reason this couldn't work as a TRex reconstruction?

It's based on scans of Stan, according to the BTS stuff W-Dragon has released.

Right, I was referring to it being a considered as too JP-like.  The JP Rex while instantly recognizable is also based on fossil material with some embellishments. None that I've ever noted were out of the realm of possibility?

Yeah, I too keep seeing references to "evil eyes", with this model, mostly complaining about the amount of keratin sheathing around/above the orbit, and the 'mascara' paint scheme. Me, I often think of the extant Raptors, or the Vipers, and their permanent scowls, when I hear a dinosaur figure has 'evil eyes'.

I think most of us understand that there is no paleoart without speculation and artistic interpretation, and IMO what W-Dragon has done here is perfectly plausible, given the way they've literally laid flesh on Stan's actual skull especially. The bosses are there, W-Dragon has just dressed them with some style.

I'm really digging the paint app here, especially that subtle flash of color on the back of the neck going into the back. I had not noticed that in the promo images, but looking at them now, I can see that it was there, just obscured a bit by angles and lighting.

I'm hoping this means that Sugo Toys will soon have their stock and begin shipping those pre-orders!

Blade-of-the-Moon

Here's hoping Sugo gets them in. I really have no idea where to look for W-Dragon products.

Does the stand for the alternate head come with it?  They didn't include anything like that with the retro tyrannosaurs.

I just ordered one from the Model toy Shop on Aliexpress for 141 dollars Canadian plus 9 dollars shipping. Arrival projected towards the end of July. It's a big figure for "1/35", closer in size to Rebor's Kiss, I'd say. Sure am glad to get another lipped rex to go along with Kiss, plus the detail work is remarkable. I gather that the material is some type of PNC/ resin composite - any experience, good or bad, with this product?
