avatar_suspsy @suspsy I only omitted it because both the 1/18 and 1/35 sculpts were included in last year's poll (even if technically only the grey versions released last year). I can't remember if those options included the paint variants or not. If you think I should go back and add the four different paint schemes I can.

Carnoking

Gosh this was not an easy vote, what a great year for figures across all these wonderful brands!

In the end my top ten selections were (in no particular order)

-BotM Dryptosaurus
-HAOLONGGOOD Dacentrurus
-HAOLONGGOOD Apatosaurus
-Nanmu Velociraptor set
-PNSO Lyhtronax
-PNSO Meraxes
-PNSO Mapusaurus
-PNSO Saurophaganax
-PNSO Yangchuanosaurus magnus
-REBOR Diplodocus

As a few honorable mentions, the Safari Ltd Estemmenosuchus, HC Carnotaurus and Brachiosaurus, HAOLONGGOOD Edmontonia and Dilophosaurus duo, Nanmu DS Giganotosaurus, and BotM Bistahieversor were also exceptional works from this past year.

I will also caveat my vote by saying I am yet to acquire any of the CollectA releases, the PNSO Spinosaurus and Alamosaurus, as well as the HAOLONGGOOD Kosmoceratops, Sinoceratops, and Tlatolophus. Maybe I'll catch up on these releases or they'll just wind up falling to the wayside in the face of what's coming in 2024.

Well, let's be honest: more people probably pledged for the actual painted versions than the DIY ones. And the former are the ones that are actually reviewed on the blog. I think they should be included.

avatar_suspsy @suspsy Okay so I checked the 2022 poll thread and if I am understanding right avatar_Halichoeres @Halichoeres was including the paint variants and only had them seperate by the scale? Here is what he said about including those in the poll:

https://dinotoyblog.com/forum/index.php?topic=10620.msg335760#msg335760

Please see the discussion there, and if you think I should still include them after checking out that, then I will do so. In this case should I have them as BotM Tyrannosaurus 1/18 (either color), BotM Tyrannosaurus 1/35 (either color), or individually listed? That said you aren't the first person to suggest one of them either.

Including them means I might need to change my vote again since I truly adore the WWD version. That said I did also vote for the 1/18 version last year (with no particular color preference, both are great).

Sim

I know people voted for the painted BotM Tyrannosaurus in last year's poll, so I don't support them being in this thread's poll.  It doesn't make sense to include them twice.

Faelrin

avatar_Sim @Sim Yup that was exactly what I did last year.

I think I'll wait to see what more folks think of this before deciding what to do here.

SRF

For how long will the poll be up? It now seems to be a neck and neck race between the PNSO Saurophaganax and the HLG Apatosaurus.
But today, I'm just being father

Faelrin

avatar_SRF @SRF Maybe to the end of Feb would be fine? I'd like to give folks some extra time to decide or get things in hand.

I've changed my vote. Well instead of voting for the BotM Bistahieversor (which is still an excellent figure from what I've seen on it, and still high on my wishlist), I'd decided to vote instead for the BotM Proceratosaurus, since I do own it, and it is such a rather beautiful figure. Everything else I voted for stays the same. In this case 5 of my votes are for things I own, and 5 on my wishlist.

Edit: Still no clear winner yet either. Currently a tie.

Finally got round to committing myself. It was just so hard to come up with only 10 in what was a spectacular year for model releases.

The easy stand-out for me as the highlight of the year was the Haolonggood Apatosaurus.  I possess both colour variants, but have a slight preference for the brown striped.  After that in alphabetical order rather than preference:

CollectA
Koolasuchus

Haolonggood
Ampelosaurus
Dacentrurus
Edmontonia
Pachyrhinosaurus
Pentaceratops
Sinoceratops

PNSO
Alamosaurus
Spinosaurus

So many other models could easily have fitted into my (heavily herbivore biased) favourites of the year, for instance:
BotM Old Buck
CollectA Stegouros and Ruyangosaurus
HLG Wuerhosaurus
PNSO Saurophaganax

Halichoeres

I'm glad to see I'm not the only Mawsonia voter!

Quiversaurus

Not too difficult a poll for me, PNSO and HLG lead the pack as usual. Glad to see the PNSO Saurophaganax seems to be resonating throughout the community.

ceratopsian

If there was an award for greatest progress over the year, I would vote it went to HLG. While not exactly a "newcomer", as they had produced a few models previously, their surge this year is unprecedented, as is the progress they have made over the course of that surge.

Bread

It's also cool to see that both the top two figures are from the Jurassic period.

Usually companies favor to release a majority of Cretaceous period fauna.

avatar_Bread @Bread And from the same formation as well.

I'm also glad to see over 50 votes now. Thanks to everyone that has participated so far. This is the first time I've done one of these, so I'm glad to see it get this much engagement. I'll try to get the results in my spreadsheet updated later today. Haven't had the time with packing the past few days.

Edit: And last place is still tied, as is first place. The competition is real. Also last place contenders have totally shifted around now. Looking forward to seeing how this will turn out from here. A reminder to folks that I plan to have this open to the end of February as well.

Edit: Now that I think about it, what happens if first place and last place stays tied when the poll is closed? Or should it be given even more time until results change?

Have a joint winner? Or see if anyone wants to edit their vote?

How was it done in past years? Or was this not an issue before? Granted since I am leaving this open for about another month still, maybe things will shift around more. I updated the results again (when was 55 votes, and now there are 56 votes), and yeah there's even more ties going on here. There's also a dozen figures or so that don't have any votes still. Some of these were requested, but most of those were ones I added to be thorough. Just figured mentioning that just in case.

Tagging folks who commented on this thread to confirm they have voted:

Please like this post if you have already voted. Comment if you are planning to, but still deciding.

Edit: Removed those who confirmed they voted either by liking this post or commented below. I will continue removing more as they confirm they have, or will, by either method.
