Does anyone have the Edel "Legendary Alpha"(aka WWD) Tyrannosaurus?

I've been debating on grabbing it for a while, as WWD was a big hit for me as a kid. Especially the T.rex in all his ugliness.

The model and figure look gorgeous, but I haven't seen any reviews or showcases of it properly. So that led me here to ask and see if anyone has gotten it and if so is it worth 700usd?

Heard Edel was a shady business, and it's a 50/50 chance of getting it, so extra hesitant there.
New to paleoart and sculpting, but really trying to learn more! If you have any requests lmk!

avatar_DrunkAnteosaurus @DrunkAnteosaurus  Edel is a scam company. Glad that you asked here before giving them any money.

I'm surprised Edel still has even a semblence of good will left in the dinosaur collecting community.

Thank you mans, pretty sad all those beautiful models are to waste.

Sorry for the bother, but if I may ask, do you know any other company that may be making these sorts of articulated figures?

Beasts of the Mesozoic did a WWD rex. IIRC it was kickstarter exclusive so you might need to check ebay to find it now.

Like avatar_stargatedalek @stargatedalek reccomended, the Kickstarter Exclusive Beasts of the Mesozoic 1:35 Tyrannosaurus is a great option for a WWD homage.

Mattel's Jurassic World Hammond Collection line may be of interest as well if you're looking for stuff that's more budget friendly. But if you specifically want an articulated figure of the WWD Tyrannosaurus design, the only option would be to comissioning one from an artist, which would cost quite a fair bit I imagine.

There are still collectors on facebook that share his models and talk him up. I would bet none of them have ever dealt with him.

Didn't think of getting one custom made, you know any custom makers who would be able to do an okay job at replicating the design? Or for a more realistic version of it? The BOTM one just doesn't hit that right notch for me saddly

avatar_DrunkAnteosaurus @DrunkAnteosaurus Not sure sorry, I don't dabble in the custom figures scene.

Maybe try PaleoKhris?

The most i ever seen his figures articulated are at the Jaw.

But its worth to ask.

Ive also been personally seething knowing I will never own that rex. The only thing I would change is lips, and I can just keep the mouth open anyway, its perfect. Can anyone fill me in on why edel sucks so much???? Ive heard nothing but bad for a couple years now at least. Its not right that they make such great figures and somehow still have the worst reputation. clearly something isn't as it should be.

long as my heart's beatin' in my chest
this old dawg ain't about to forget :')

CityRaptor

Well, that is because they are scammers. Lots of people paid for but never got their figures.
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no
