I've voted. I really hope the Haolonggood Apatosaurus wins.
In the end it was not guns or bombs that defeated the aliens, but that humblest of all God's creatures... the Tyrannosaurus rex.

Fembrogon

I wonder if these polls would benefit from an official blog post to share and draw more attention from visitors/lurkers? I don't recall if we've publicized the votes before, other than the YouTube Channel videos with the results.

Faelrin

avatar_Fembrogon @Fembrogon That's a good idea honestly. I think it was also posted up at the top of the forum in the news banner or something in the past?

I updated the results again. We have a clear 1st place winner now, but last place is still a tie.

Looks as though the HG Apatosaurus & PNSO Saurophaganax are in the lead! Well deserved if you ask me.

Edit: Updated results again. We have a clear top ten for now, of sorts (last three are tied). Nearly up to 70 votes as well. Once again thanks to everyone who participated so far.

Wow, I really thought Koolasuchus would win this, but it's barely in the top 10. I guess theropods and sauropods are tried and true for toy companies. 🦖 🦕

I don't think a non-dinosaur has ever taken the top spot. Lots of people around here who won't even consider buying something that isn't technically a dinosaur or prehistoric mammal, because those were the only categories of prehistory they knew as kids.

Because I still don't agree with excluding the painted BotM 1/18 T. rexes. I think maybe one or two lucky people received theirs on the very last day of December, but most consider them 2023 figures. I can't and won't participate in a poll that I fundamentally disagree with.

When I started collecting I was initially planning on only collecting dinosaurs, to limit myself. Then it expanded into prehistoric reptiles, then prehistoric mammals too, then anything prehistoric. Now I collect extant animals too. But as far as prehistoric animals go it's the non-dinosaurs that often excite me the most these days. CollectA's Koolasuchus might be my favorite figure of the year.

avatar_suspsy @suspsy I'll add it for you. I just wasn't sure if I was supposed to considering it seemed to be all inclusive when included in last year's poll, but since it will be just for the painted ones I suppose it wouldn't hurt.

Edit: Changed the title to bring attention to it. Both options are at the very bottom. I also removed the dozen of write in options (except one) since they weren't even used this late in the game, so it should be less scrolling to get to it.

That's a good point. Though Lisowicia had a strong showing in 2020.

Wally-217

I already voted but weren't the TNG figures from 2023? I completely forgot about those but the megacerops was one of my best purchases this year in hindsight.

Good question!!! I definitely would have voted for the Stegodon, at least. I completely forgot about these.

Faelrin

W @Wally-217 S @SidB I didn't know if they were 2022 or 2023 figures, so I wasn't sure if I should have included them or not. I guess I could add them as a late addition since they don't seem to have had any representation in last year's poll. Do folks just want the mammals only, or more? The mammals included the Elasmotherium, Megacerops, Smilodon, Stegodon, Woolly Mammoth. I know there was also the Cryolophosaurus that was well received, so maybe I'll add that one in addition.

Edit: I added these now. Please feel free to re-vote folks if interested in any of these models.

I gotta disagree with you here suspsy.

Some locations had the BOTM Tyrannosaurus's available in late 2022, regardless if you did not receive yours until 2023.

This is a case with PNSO too. Most consumers here did not receive their PNSO Spinosaurus until January of 2024, but it's still considered a December 2023 release since there were those few collectors who received them before the end of 2023.

Plus, I saw in the 2022 poll that there was quite a bit of votes for these rexes, both sizes and colorschemes.
