PRIMITIVE WAR---Jeremy Piven (ENTOURAGE) and Tricia Helfer (BATTLESTAR GALACTICA) will star in the movie based on the books set in the Vietnam War when an elite recon team, searching for a missing Green Beret unit, discovers deadly dinosaurs in the jungle.

Blade-of-the-Moon

I read the book awhile back, I've seen a few of the comic pages but that's been it.  What studio is doing it?  It would be great to have another dinosaur movie series out there..one that is definitely not PG-13.

Ok..never heard of it before. There is no backing from any major studio?  Just hoping it's not Syfy channel quality.

dragon53

No major studio involved. Luke Sparke is Australian whose last movie was BRING HIM TO ME with Sam Neill, Barry Pepper and Rachel Griffiths (Oscar nominee).

PRIMITIVE WAR---photo released from the sci fi movie based on the novels shows Tricia Helfer and Ryan Kwanten. The synopsis says, "In 1968, at the height of the Vietnam War, an elite recon unit known as Vulture Squad is sent to an isolated jungle valley to uncover the fate of a missing Green Beret platoon. They soon discover they are not alone. Dinosaurs have been let loose in the jungles."

Okay, looks decent! Definitely gave off a bit of a Kong: Skull Island vibe. The raptors at the end (I'm assuming Utahraptor/Dakotaraptor) look great!

Yeah, that trio of raptors looked good enough to get me excited. That glimpse of a spinosaur looked promising too.
I've never read the book, but for sake of dino cinema I hope this turns out good.

Torvosaurus

"Predator" meets "Jurassic Park". 🙂

I like the look of it. It looks like the raptors have feathers! 👍🏻

Blade-of-the-Moon

Read the book it has some definite possibilities. The dinos area bit too JP/JW like though. The raptors have some HUGE teeth/fangs.  I know it's not a JW budget film but it looked good up until the dinos to me.  I'll have to show my dad the trailer, he's a Vietnam veteran.

Dilopho

What do you know, the raptors designed by AI end up looking like trashy JW clones. Who would have guessed?

Giganotosaurus

This looks good, definitely one of my most anticipated movies now!
Mosasurus on Jurassic Mainframe and JPToys
Angurius on TohoKingdom

I love all the Jurassic movies, plus Disney's Dinosaur

Good to know I'm not the only 1. The Spino looks especially JP-ish. Also, why does the claw at 0:45 have a serrated edge? I hope it's not meant to be a tooth :|| AFAICT, the only good-looking dino bit is the foot at 1:08.

For something that was originally trying to be it's own thing they really leaned a bit too much into it. " walk in the park " tagline and designs so far. The book was very JP novel like in tone, especially with the more gorey bits. I'll watch it to be sure, I'm not sure it will be theatrically released here?

Pliosaurking

This looks not bad at all. So far I'm pretty excited for this film!

I couldn't agree more.
I would really like to be excited about this. An Overlord/Kong: Skull Island/Dog Soldiers-esque low-budget dino action-horror sounds absolutely incredible.
I just cannot get passed the use of AI in this production. I don't know if it was just for the concept art stuff, or if AI was used in the final effects shots, it doesn't really matter. AI "art" was used, so I'm not watching this.
