Do anthropomorphic (or human) animal hybrids count? New action figure line on Kickstarter called Monstors. Really dig the vibes on these guys, and especially that they size up well with the now vintage Mattel Street Sharks and Extreme Dinosaurs. Like they fit right in at home with them.

Edit: I forgot to mention this before posting, but the parts can be further swapped, allowing for even more wacky hybrid creations.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/monstors/monstors-sham-moo-moo-and-sting-cobra-action-figures/description

Here's the figures:

Sham-Moo-Moo:

Sting-Cobra:

Bull-Tooth:

Ven-Nom-Nom (this is the one I pledged for):

Sting-Cobra color swap of Sham-Moo-Moo:

Sham-Moo-Moo color swap of Sting-Cobra:

There's also translucent blue and green versions (which are both kickstarter exclusives) and glow in the dark versions of them as well. As far as add-ons goes there's like stickers, artwork, a weapons pack, and pink flesh colored versions of the Starfish and Camel-Spider little guys.

Not an action figure, and definitely not cheap, but before there was the Furay Planet William there was the Underworld William:

I organized and cleared another area of shelf to make room for two new figures, and my results have been mixed. I absolutely adore both of them, especially how well they work together given they are from completely unrelated brands, but the shelf I picked is not large enough.

Wasp girl by Snailshell and Balala Fairies Maggie by Snap. I am super impressed with both. Snailshell have a higher pricepoint than I'm used to, but I definitely got what I paid for. And I have been waiting years for Snap to release this figure (thanks for repeatedly cancelling my pre-order BBTS), so glad to finally have her all set up after the hassle.

They are similar in execution but both quite a bit larger than Figma's give or take 5 inches, compared to these two at ~6.5. Both are labelled 1:12 but seem a touch large for that? I did a double take and checked both packages to be sure because I was thinking they were probably closer in size to my Honkai stuff which is all in 1/8th. I guess Figma's weird non-scale (~1:13) sizing is just small enough to throw my brain off.

Both came with a host of alternate parts and extra accessories not pictured.

Those are awesome!! I'm not sure if  I love a plethora of extra parts of dislike it..bit of a double edged sword?

Indeed. I generally like it, especially for more action figure adjacent stuff like these, Figma's, or Arctech, since they are good fun to pose and set up different ways. But I'm also gathering a collection just of little baggies filled with spare parts at this point.

Thanks to the Beasts of the Mesozoic line I have a dino chop shop in storage containers. Neca is almost as bad, had to label jars for accessory parts for Gargoyles, Gremlins, Universal Monsters and more. I need a Dr. Frankenstein's lab playset for all the parts lol   Some are pretty cool, with the Gargoyle line I've bought two and sometimes three of each figure to make different versions.

Enough BOTM spare parts to build your own? ;D

Saw this and thought it might interest someone:

I think this is closer to the novel.
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

Just about ! lol

I just ordered him. I usually only like the Universal Monsters for Frankenstein but I was pretty tempted. I bought Jacob Marley last December and missed Anubis so I'll have to track him down.  If they do their versions of all the classic monsters I'll be in trouble..

Neat looking (DnD) Dragonborn styled character from Four Horsemen Studios as part of the BBTS 25th anniversary. Expected 1st quarter 2025.

The Dragonborn comes....

Without the armor it slightly reminds me of Papo's Dragon Mutant.

They are indeed. Although they have different armor pieces and the green version has an alternate head and different accessories. The new black version looks like the main difference (beyond color) is that it has a soft goods tunic.

The green Cosmic Legions version is one of their Masters of the Universe homages, colored to look like the villain Whiplash with similar accessories.

Mythic Legions/Cosmic Legions are known for heavy re-use/repaints among figures.

But it's not something you'd be aware of if you didn't follow the lines.

I bought the Headless Horseman last Halloween and Jacob Marley and then Santa Clause. Not really into the entire lines just popular characters.

The "Figura Obscura" line, which is the one you're referencing, is great. Basically it's the Four Horsemen (the sculptors behind the Mythic/Cosmic Legions line) creating their spin on public domain characters. I have the ones you mentioned and they're really great for holiday figure displays.

They also recently released and Anubis/Bastet set based on Ancient Egyptian mythology. There's a really cool Monkey King as well.

While I used to collect a lot of their Mythic stuff, the Figura Obscura stuff is where I gravitate toward recently. Especially since it's usually in stock when it's revealed (whereas some Mythic stuff I've been waiting for for nearly 2 years).

Yes I missed out on Anubis, considering getting him via eBay or waiting to see if he'sa general release as well.  I'm really over these reveals and preorders then the super long wait times. Not just with figures and toys but the higher end collectible/statue market. Just had a retailer I've dealt with before finally get a piece in I preordered 3 years ago. I've seen it on sale since for much better prices but I've sort of lost interest in it and there are better products on the market now. As a responsible person I feel like I should keep up my end of the deal but then again I also think nothing should be shown for order and then take this long no matter the reason.
