What of course could be the case is that they have included the Huayangosaurus into the mold of the Argentinosaurus in order to minimize the dead space of this large mold.

Quote from: Sim on October 08, 2024, 07:01:18 PMI have to say Haolonggood's Argentinosaurus is probably the ultimate dinosaur toy!  I will not be getting it though, it's a very space-consuming figure of a species I don't want to have.  So if the Huayangosaurus is only available with it, I think I won't get it either.  I will say I think it's a better companion to a large figure than those unpainted pterosaurs.  The Haolonggood playing cards are a great idea, but they too seem to be only available with the Argentinosaurus.

If the Huayangosaurus is only available with the Argentinosaurus because of how small the Huayangosaurus is, I guess Haolonggood won't make Kentrosaurus or anything smaller available on their own too...

V @vampiredesign I appreciate you being so helpful. :)

Like the saying goes small boys have small toys and big boys have big toys.

Quote from: Gwangi on October 08, 2024, 07:06:26 PMDisappointed about the Huayangosaurus since I won't be getting Argentinosaurus. At least I have Kaiyodo's!
I have Kaiyodo's too and will keep that one if Haolonggood's isn't available separately.

The stegosaurian I'm really hoping for from Haolonggood is Tuojiangosaurus.  Whatever Haolonggood's next stegosaurian is I'm sure it will be great though!  I'm happy with my Haolonggood Wuerhosaurus and Stegosaurus (I've got past the colouration like I did for Safari's Stegosaurus), and I was happy with my Haolonggood Dacentrurus too, until it was established "Miragaia" represented the same animal.

All points towards Haolonggood releasing the brachiosaurid too, I wouldn't worry about it not being released.

Quote from: vampiredesign on October 08, 2024, 06:30:37 PMI understand everyone's feelings, and I will negotiate with the company. The current plan is unlikely to change. But I will try some methods and I hope everyone understands. Mainly because it is too small and the price is not easy to determine.

obviously i can only speak for myself here, but i would be happy to overpay a bit relative to the figure's size if the alternative is not being able to get it at all. i think i'm not alone in that the argentinosaurus is most likely going to be out of my budget and size constraints, and it's disappointing that this would render me unable to acquire an entirely different species. that said, your communication and consideration are much appreciated!

I was thinking exactly the same. They should just give this a small figure surcharge or just give it a price similar to some of the recent small to medium sized figures that were in the range between 16 and 20 USD. I am sure people would buy the Huayangosaurus at this price point.

Alternatively one could always sell them in bundles like the Dilophosaurus, but with two different species. Such as Huayangosaurus and Gasosaurus. I would gladly buy a bundle that came with Huayangosaurus and Shunosaurus for example.

You could get into a Shaximiao's stegosaurid pack: Huayangosaurus,Chialingosaurus,  Gigantspinosaurus, Chungkingosaurus, Yingshangosaurus, or Bashanosaurus. They are some good remains in at least three of them, so that could do it. That would be a fair solution for smaller species that are relegated due to their sizes.  :))

No mention of Tuojiangosaurus makes me sad.  It's the largest and most impressive of the Shaximiao stegosaurians and it really needs an accurate figure.

So preorders are supposed start today (8th Oct) and end on 18th Oct.

Where do preorders officially open? I don't recall how the Alamosaurus preorders were handled.

Wow, just wow. It's so big that it almost reaches Mattel's sauropod size. But man, Argentinosaurus finally has a toy worthy of it's status.

I hope this thing stays around for a while cause I'm defenitley not getting it anytime soon...not this year at least, maybe later next year, or the next one...

About the Huayangosaurus preorder exclusive thing...I understand the need to make it an excluive pre-order bonus due to it's small size, but they should have bundled it with a smaller dinosaur, not with this expensive behemoth. Not a loss for me though, I'm not interested on that species.

The Alamosaurus preorders (and actually the Mamenchisaurus preorders as well) were available on the website of Lana Time Shop. I have checked and so far the Argentinosaurus is not yet open for preorders there, but I would think that in the morning (it is 11 pm here) this should come online.

Agree on that. The PNSO is not so bad, but it is just too large and has still the old rough style.

If someone had shown me this pic a few years ago I would have fallen into a faint.
HAOLONGGOOD has quickly become the sauropod company.

I for one am happy with the beautiful gift that comes with this majestic king of sauropod figures :) .

Agreed! We're living through a golden age of dinosaur figures!

crazy8wizard

On one hand I'm elated we're finally getting a really up to date argentinosaurus from a great company, but on the other hand I'm wondering if the rigorous approach to staying in the 1:35-1:40 range is kind of making accurate figures of big sauropods a little less accessible to the average collector due to size and cost.
Not saying this is a bad figure by any means, in fact it's a really spectacular one, I'm just noticing the trend of bigger and bigger sauropod figures.

Sim

CollectA already offers great, accurate figures of large sauropods at a smaller size than Haolonggood's and for a much lower price too.  Haolonggood is offering something unique, something that hasn't been done before.  I don't see a problem, I see a need being fulfilled.

Joliezac

Wow an amazing figure, but unfortunately way too large, I can't even imagine what the price and shipping costs will be. I just got Camarasaurus and it looks like a dwarf next to this Argentinosaurus. Too bad about the Huayangosaurus, I would have loved to get that one.

while I do have at least one problem with most of their offerings, usually the face, I must say it an impressive line up thieve made.
