Why have pictures (I can only talk about mine) been reduced in size again? Is that really necessary?

Oh yes - yours show up on my phone as minute now, avatar_postsaurischian @postsaurischian. (My desktop is currently away for repairs.) I checked a couple of other collection threads and they were unaffected.

I haven't made any changes to image sizes on the forum, at least not intentionally. I wonder if it is related to the changes I made to allow forum image attachments. But if its only your images that have been affected, then maybe your image host has made some changes. let me look into it. In the meantime, is anyone else on the forum being affected by this?

avatar_postsaurischian @postsaurischian The only post of yours that seemed to be affected is this one, where the images look like thumbnails: https://dinotoyblog.com/forum/index.php?topic=152.msg366024#msg366024 Are there any other posts where your images are smaller than usual?

I checked the code in this post and it looks like you've accidentally used the code for "Thumbnail for forums" instead of the code for full size "Hotlink for forums". See the screenshot, you've used 5th from the top but you probably meant to use 7th from the top.

Screenshot 2024-02-28 at 10.28.47.png

If it were me I would just copy the direct link (2nd from top) and manually wrap that in image bbcode [ i m g ] direct link here [/ i m g ] (but without the spaces). Then your images won't also become links to postimage.

I hope this fully explains what's going on, or is there something else at play?

For good measure, I've also checked the maximum image size settings for the forum, and bumped these up a little bit from 800px to 1200px. So that should make images  larger on large screens.

Thank you avatar_DinoToyForum @DinoToyForum and sorry for the late reply. I haven't been logged in for a while.
The thumbnails you mentioned weren't the problem. Those were repetitions hence the different code.
But all my other pictures seemed to be smaller - about 600px wide. Now tey're 1200px, as you've mentioned.
I personally preferred the 800px. It makes the overall design look more decent. What do you (and others) think?

No problem, I've changed the max size back to 800px then. :)

Getting a lot of weird wasted space on the right side of the forum sub-boards as of late. Not sure if it is my laptop or another reason. Almost looks like a mobile layout weirdly. It's pretty late so I'll be going to bed soon. I'll check back tomorrow and see what it is like, if the issue persists.

Should be fixed now, let me know if not.

avatar_DinoToyForum @DinoToyForum Still showing on my end, though I think I did see it fixed a tad bit early before I got to work on some DTC updates.

Edit: Showing in the forum threads itself as well. Let me know if you need screencaps.

Edit 2: Only on some pages oddly. Like going through the CollectA 2024 thread, it shows on the last page, but not the page before it.

How odd. If it persists please could you try deleting the cache for dinotoyblog.com to see if your browser is serving outdated files? If it still happens after that please do share a screenshot, that would be helpful.

Is anyone else still experiencing blank space on the side of the screen?

DinoToyForum

I've also just purged the dinotoyblog.com server cache for good measure, in case it is serving old cached pages.

DinoToyForum

Ah, after doing a bit of digging I found the cause of the white space. It was another hangover from when I was fiddling around with the ads the other day. Should be all fixed now, sorry for the inconvenience!  O:-)

DinoToyForum

I've made a small addition to the menu bar - a 'New topic' button. It might make it a little bit easier to start new topics. The button only works for logged-in members, of course.

For about a week or so recently, every time I signed out a new page would open asking if I was sure I wanted to sign out - "Uh yeah, I'm pretty sure," but that's gone away now, and I can just sign out as usual. Wasn't a problem or anything, though.
In the end it was not guns or bombs that defeated the aliens, but that humblest of all God's creatures... the Tyrannosaurus rex.

Hmm, I haven't made any such changes. Maybe it was a browser setting?

Beats me, I didn't change anything. It happened for about a week or so, then stopped. It said something like - Are you sure you want to sign out or continue as a guest? Like I said, it wasn't an inconvenience or anything, just different than normal. Just wanted to bring it up to see if anyone else noticed it.

Weird. Can you remember, did the dialogue box appear as a popup within the website (styled like the forum), or as popup in the browser (styled like the browser)?

Looked just like Forum, same colours and font.

Hmm, I can't find any such error message text in the forum's files. If it happens again please take a screenshot and record the exact error warning, that will help me explain the source of the error. I could be wrong but I still suspect it's related to the browser or other non-forum software.
