Quote from: Flaffy on November 01, 2024, 03:52:55 AMYeah... my suspicions from the factory vid were correct. 001 final product doesn't look nearly as nice as the prototype unfortunately. It's certainly not a bad colour scheme by any means, but it just doesn't blow me away like the original colour scheme did. The pivot to being more brown than purple probably contributed to this. The orange streak looks a bit out of place on the final version as well.

I agree. I ordered the purple version based off of the one in that beach photo. This isn't as impressive to me. However I still love the colors and I'm sure I will be extremely pleased with the product in hand.

Overall it's still a very nice and impressive colour scheme. Very bold and flashy, fit for this king-sized figure!

It's just that I didn't expect myself to enjoy the simplicity of 129 so much more :o . Now I really am looking forward to how Haolonggood executes the remaining two 130 & 131. Maybe we'll get another pleasant surprise? Only selecting one colour scheme is always a challenge with this company...

Why change the special version color? I know there is always small differences from a prototype but the original color scheme we saw was a lot better, strange to change it in a big way. This makes me a bit skeptical preordering Haolonggood products in the future. It's still a great figure.

Thanks Ajax88 for the informations btw

The blue version is the most pleasing to me, but need to finally see the green one which was my favorite !

I hope they will have no flaws and won't damage during the shipping, especially on the head.
My Mamenchisaurus had plenty of defects on the head.
It's like the brown color had some rubbning on the head on some part, I thought it was just mine but it seemed to be the same on other people models.
But it was more serious on mine, it also had some kind of tiny hole or break I had to fill with milliput material and repaint.
Now everything is good, but I should never had to fix such issues on such an expansive model.

Simplicity lends itself quite well to these massive figures. Still very keen to see the "limited" variant in hand as that was the first to catch my fancy. Regardless of color though, the sheer size of this figure makes all of the color schemes look impressive.

I had this color rubbing issue on the limited edition Alamosaurus, while my brown Mamenchisaurus was fine. What I think is the reason for this is that they either apply the dry brushing too strongly or do the dry brushing when the previous paint layers are not fully dried. To the latter fits the observation that when these large figures arrived they had (unlike smaller Haolonggood figures) a fairly strong smell of paint. This went away after a week or two.

For me the main question is how blue the blue version (HLG-129) actually is. The pictures we have seen so far suggest that it is rather a blue-gray, a bit reminiscent of the blue-gray Haolonggood Apatosaurus and different from the blue color of the blue editions of Alamosaurus and Mamenchisaurus.

The confusion surrounding the Argentinosaurus pre-order is increasing. Lana Time Shop published the following new pictures of the Huayangosaurus. This looks quite different from what we have seen so far. I mean I like this as well but it is very different.

Lana also published pictures of the blue and purple version. I can only link to those of the blue.

The blue looks great with that eye and wash for the detail. Starting to kinda think I should have went with something other than the purple now. The spots don't seem to blend nearly as well as the prototype?

Paleofiguras also mentioned that Haolonggood is going to make Shantungosaurus and Mosasaurus

Oh my god !
That is what I wanted to hear !
The Shantungosaurus will be great, and Inm sure Iguanodon and others will follow.

However, I'm not as confident with mosasaurus, they still need to prove the can make good carnivorous.

We could see a battle of mosasaurs between HLG and the rumored PNSO.

Whelp, as soon as there are two color variants, it gives me a slim hope that Utahceratops will be a full-on product, and not a sidekick to another SUDDEN behemoth.

JimoAi

so the huyangosaurus will not.het it's own release?

Turkeysaurus

No interest in another Mosasaurus. I don't believe it could top the last CollectA one. Wish we could get Prognathodon or Gnathomortis or Plotosaurus for a change.

Shantungosaurus sounds tempting, but it'll probably have a painful price tag.

As the largest non-sauropod land animal, Shant is long overdue imo and I'll be happy to pay a suitable price if it means we get a proper 1:35 figure of it. Probably be similar in size/price to their Mamenchi.

Personally I'd love for it to have a dynamic bipedal/rearing posture.

Paleofiguras told me they believe the remaining figures from the teaser have been featured at the expo. And well, we can clearly see one of those, the Utahceratops, as avatar_Samrukia @Samrukia pointed out (which BTW, avatar_Sim @Sim I imagine you'll be quite happy to see!).

Could this be another one?

The ceratopsid behind the orange Xenoceratops and in front of those Chasmosaurus. I don't recall having seen that figure before.

I personnaly don't like how the teeth prevent the Collecta mosaur's mouth to fully close.
