I have been lurking and reading posts on here for awhile and finally decided to make an account and contribute.

3 years ago I had my interest in paleontology and dinosaurs renewed after visiting the Dinosaur Resource Center in Woodland Park, Colorado.

Since then I have been diving into dinosaur media, scientific papers, and more recently scientific dinosaur figures. I have particularly grown fond of PNSO figures.

So my question, I have been comparing the PNSO and HLG models of Camarasaurus. Aesthetically I find the PNSO better but I found the body plans to be pretty different. The HLG seems to have such low hips compared to the PNSO.

So I was curious which bauplan between the figures do you find to be more accurate? Ignoring more speculative features like the soft tissue on the PNSO.

Thanks in advance! I am excited to be here.

Hi and welcome! I can't speak for the accuracy of Camarasaurus figures off the top of my head but I'm sure others will!

I think the Haolonggood Camarasaurus is a hair better anatomically. The hips should be a bit lower than the shoulders, and the posture of the figure seems more natural. Paint is nicer too, but both figures are really quite nice. I would say they both do a good job of capturing the essence of Camarasaurus. In general, PNSO has mastered theropods and Haolonggood excels at herbivorous dinosaurs, although I think PNSO's Alamosaurus is perhaps the best sculpted mass-produced dinosaur toy of all time.

Hello and welcome to the forum! Honestly, I am not so much into all these top notch models and figures - although I wouldn´t reject any of them either - but into quirky little figures, museum exclusives and vintage monochromes which are often overlooked and underestimated nowadays :)  But I am pretty sure you´ll be finding partners here for lively discussions.

I love more unique collections too! If you have any pictures I would love to see some.

My favorite Camarasaurus figures are the Carnegie figure and the Safari ltd. figure that is more recent than the former. Welcome to the club!

Welcome, Gnasty! I know the DRC in Woodland Park well. I live in Colorado Springs and have visited there many times. A few of my figures came from their gift shop.
Welcome aboard!

That is easy ^-^ , just take a look at my collection thread. Still work in progress, albeit the frequency new pieces join the herd has decreased:

Welcome to the forum! I'm no help on Camarasaurus, as I haven't yet sat down to compare the three excellent figures by HLG, PNSO, and Safari.
