Shrek 4 is an underrated masterpiece

Seems like they based the reconstruction off the less-than-good paper skeletal... The feet are wrong. The dew claw should not be on the lateral aspect of the pes. Also debatable whether all 5 digits were clawed I think? Overall not too impressed with this one unfortunately.

Gabriel's Melanorosaurus for reference:

Nice to finally see a figure of this fascinating sauropodomorph made, and yet another Triassic period animal from them.

Also not sure if this was shared yet, but Everything Dinosaur shared more images of the Arctodus:

Even better, this might even a basal sauropod. If that's the case this is the first one of those in what, a decade?

At 1/40, this is a candidate for purchase. Honestly, I'm not unduly exercised if there are some digital issues as I can generally get this sort of problem corrected for a modest price. Sort of fun to modify otherwise fine figures, IMO.

For a moment I though was a tenontosaurus! Really nice adding an obscure one, but weird we are having just one reveal.

Pliosaurking

Looks great, glad to see more Triassic love. They definitely got a diverse lineup so far, that's for sure.

Cool, I hadn't heard about Ingentia but according to this 2018 blog entry from Everything Dinosaur and this one from Smithsonian it's an important find, the most massive Triassic sauropodomorph by a lot (though in length it was about the same as the largest Plateosaurus specimen). Also since the length estimate for Ingentia is 7.9 - 10.1 meters, if the model is 25 cm it can work at 1:35 as well as 1:40.

We have two more weeks left, meaning at least two more reveals. So far, I'm very impressed with the lineup.

Perhaps we'll get an updated toy next week. Fingers crossed for a new Scelidosaurus!

palaeozoic invertebrate - check
cenozoic mammal - check

mesozoic:
triassic sauropodomorph - check
cretaceous ornithischian - check
jurassic theropod - pending? :D

also, a pterosaur, permian synapsid and marine reptile

that would pretty much cover all main popular types  :D

Joliezac

Looks great! Hoping we will see more than one reveal today.

Excellent lineup so far this year! I can't remember the last time I wanted all the new released announced from CollectA. I'm still not in love with the Arctodus though. Triassic fauna, prehistoric invertebrates, and obscure ceratopsians without butt fuzz? CollectA's reading my mind!  :o

Same!!!! I have all four on my intended purchase list.

It cracks me up when a company releases an obscure Triassic animal like Ingentia and people are quick to jump on a miniscule issue like the placement of the dewclaw, something that in the final product will probably only be a couple millimeters. To me the Ingentia is the most exciting of their prehistoric lineup!!

It's even more amusing when you know for a fact that most if not all paleontologists seriously couldn't care less about such minutiae.

I'm glad people are happy with the Ingentia, I personally am not as it doesn't interest me at all.  I expect there won't be any more sauropods from CollectA for 2025 so I'm sad about that.  I find CollectA tends to make things I'm not interested in so I'm going to stop hoping for something I like from CollectA.

Different people have different standards and criteria for collecting, should be well established by now on this forum. Not sure why folks are still surprised by people pointing out inaccuracies when they are present?

Looking at it more closely, it seems the real issue is the sculptor adding an extra toe on the feet. The sculptor may have gotten confused when referencing the promotional material, which gives the impression of more digits than it actually has if not analysed closely.

Digit V should not be present according to preserved hindlimb elements close relatives. The figure has 5 toes when it should have 4. Good news is that fixing it should be simple for those who are savvy with customisation work. Simply remove the extra toe(s) and fill the cut surface with putty I imagine.
