This is the comparison I've been waiting for. Great to see that they're pretty much the same size. If the Eofauna truly is a significant improvement accuracy-wise over the PNSO, I might just replace the latter with it (although the PNSO does still seem a bit more refined).

Also, the similarities in the pose seem too close to be a coincidence... O:-)

I prefer my Ankylosaurids to look like big, walking coffee tables, so Eofauna wins this one for me!

Eofauna has definitely improved in the paint department.

Notable differences of the Eofauna Ankylosaurus compared to the PNSO: different osteoderm size on the dorsal side and size decreasing caudally, larger quadratojugal and squamosal horns, thinner tail, different bone structure of the tail club.

BBTS has all these new figures (and the T. rex) up for pre-order now.

It's not bad and it definitely won't stop me from getting it. But the I don't understand the throught process of the black legs and to a lesser extent the white lines on the back. It literally looks like it was dipped in paint from some angles.

Less is more approach to the paintjob would definitely have perfected this.

A similar complaint I had with their T. sp "Cryptic". I don't understand the socks/sleeves either but at least on the Anky they're not painted with a completely incohesive colour.

New information on the website of Lana Time Shop: "The first batch has been sold out and the second batch is expected for March 2025".

On Aliexpress it states that this product is not available any more.

I am out from this for now. Anyway I am getting my PNSO repainted along the lines of the original release images.

So far I have not any Eofauna figure. I was willing to give them a chance with the Ankylosaurus.

But this release policy is completely unreasonable.

Running a pre-order in the background basically without alerting people that this is limited to very few numbers.

And then creating some vibe with in hand pictures but at this point everything is sold out and you have to wait half a year.

Moreover we do not even know if the second batch will have the same quality as the first one.

Clearly the top strategy to get new customers.

Are you complaining about Eofauna or LanaTimeShop? I'm pretty sure everything you mentioned was done by Lana. If you don't like how they handle things you could always just order it from another store, but the earliest expected dates of the product's arrivals for Dan's and deJankins were around the same as the "second batch" for Lana so Lana's actually earlier than most other stores contrary to what you (seem to) think.

Your comment about second batches is applicable to every single product so you should complain about all the other companies too, I guess? And I don't think there were any noticeable differences between the Eofauna "Sue"s of the first and second batches so it's probably not going to be a problem.

Also March is only three months away (not six) so unless you're really in a hurry to get the figure it's not much of a wait.

A relatively minor repaint/touch-up should amend this issue, which I agree is a legitimate observation. Like you, G @GnastyGnorc , it won't stop me from acquiring this fine figure. I've sent in an advance request to Dean at Dejankins to  put aside this figure and one each of the two new proboscideans when they get ashore in the new world.

Most other shops are not getting these in til the first quarter of 2025. Lana must have gotten a few early. Eofauna is pretty easy to get once its out (very rarely are their older figures out of stock on some websites). I've gotten figures from Eofauana years after release and have never noticed a quality decrease in later batches. If you are looking for a good price I suggest Everything Dinosaur. Most of their Eofauna are less than $20 usd.

Look several distributors have offered these for pre-order already. But I do not like if some distributors are more equal than others. So this has something to with both Lana and Eofauna actually.

The figure is high quality-design, but I prefer not to pay more than 24-26€. I usually buy Eofauna figures in this Spanish shop. They don't have the new figures listed, however. https://www.alcaiceria.com/alcaiceria/compras/productos.php?CCODPRO=eofauna You can find similar prices in other European shops.

40 does seem a bit marked up from everywhere else i'm seeing but Lana does offer free shipping most of the time so I'm sure that balances things out in some cases

Joliezac

All new Eofauna are up for preorder on BBTS. I chose to preorder from there because I'm in the US so I only have to pay the $4 shipping. Everything Dinosaur looks to be around the same price when you factor taxes and shipping in, but at least with preorders I can confirm I'll have them (even though Eofauna figures don't typically sell out right away".

Estimated shipping is February.

Yeah I'll be ordering from a US retailer rather than have it shipped from China. Happy Hen and DeJankins will both have it. Nice to see BBTS getting in on it too, they're heavier on the pop culture dinos.

This arrived in record time from China. Once again, it's too dark and rainy to take decent photos - I had to use the flash outside! Summer here sucks, it's either scorching drought with the potential for bushfires or it rains and floods for five months. Anyway...

In the end it was not guns or bombs that defeated the aliens, but that humblest of all God's creatures... the Tyrannosaurus rex.

Looks fantastic! Can't wait to get this figure

Elengassen

Looks very nice. I just don't understand why Eofauna have felt the need to give all of their recent dinosaurs such starkly contrasting colours on the legs. The Giganotosaurus has dark feet but there's a nice gradation of colour; not sure why they abandoned this approach.
