Great, it works, thanks for testing it out! You can see your avatar on your comment. One of the perks is that Supporter comments should always be auto-approved going forward (once the first comment is approved). Your bio note also worked - it appears on the Supporter list at the bottom of the Perks page (which I may rename, or change to a separate Supporters page): https://dinotoyblog.com/perks

BrontoScorpio

I made a subscription.
Didn't pay much attention what it's all about -
but happy to contribute my own small support :)

Thank you avatar_BrontoScorpio @BrontoScorpio, I appreciate your generosity! The main benefit is that the site becomes ad-free by default, the other perks are listed in the first post of this thread.

ceratopsian

Thanks - all understood now!!

QuoteHave you planned to shortly provide payment options by credit cards ? Actually, I don't/can't use PayPal :(

I'm afraid not. I believe it's possible to use a credit card via the PayPal checkout without signing up to PayPal, but maybe not, and I understand if people don't want to do that anyway. I'll look into other options.

Edit: actually, looks like only PayPal Business Accounts can accept Credit Card payments, but I'm using a personal account. I will look into upgrading, and work out what the pros and cons are!
Cool, many thanks in advance !
I stay tuned and look forward to shortly becoming a full supporter of your quality forum.

I've looked into this and while a Paypal Business Account would allow me to accept credit card payments, it also incurs higher fees. So, taking that into account, I calculated it wouldn't be worth it unless lots of people want to use a credit card, which I don't think they do. So, it's normal PayPal only for now, sorry. Don't worry though, I still appreciate the sentiment. ^-^

Ok, too bad for me but thanks for having inquired about it.

I don't know if anyone else is experiencing this issue, but ever since I became a supporter, every half dozen or maybe less times that I access the DTB, I have to relog in. It's not a big problem, but it seems odd that this is occurring, as it never happened before the change.

ceratopsian

I'm not experiencing this on either phone or desktop.

Then I may have to quote from 'The Cremation of Sam McGee' - "There's strange things done in the land of the midnight sun ..."

I can certainly live with this occasional state of affairs too. It's good to know that I'm not alone in the universe.

Quote from: DinoToyForum on December 14, 2024, 01:23:48 PMS @SidB I see you've successfully registered your DinoToyBlog account. I hope it worked without a hitch! Please Let me know if the perks work as expected, and if you can access any parts of the blog you probably shouldn't. I want to make sure opening up the blog to Supporters isn't a security risk. So, for example, you can't edit posts or anything like that, right?
An odd thing has just happened. I got signed out, though I'm certain that i didn't consciously do that, so I signed myself in again on the Forum. But now I can't vote on the Blog, though I can make entries on the Forum.

The accounts are separate, so you will need to log into each separately. The login page for the blog is https://dinotoyblog.com/login

Aha, suspected so! Thanks for the link, avatar_DinoToyForum @DinoToyForum .
Although I registered on the Blog as a supporter, everytime that I try to vote for a new figure posting, I have to log in  before I vote, though I've done so several times already.

Are you checking the "Remember Me" box on the login page? That should fix it so long as you're using the same IP address each time you use the site, and not browsing in Incognito/Private mode.

I thought that I did, but I'll make sure to check that out the next time that there's a figure on which to vote on the DTB.

I always check that myself and it usually lasts four weeks or so for me. Same for the forum, click "forever" at the login and you'll remain logged in every time you visit for as long as you use the same IP.
