It's so beautiful... Downright surreal finally hearing some of these tracks clean and crisp for the first time.

Oh my god I've waited my entire life to hear these songs in good quality

I wonder why they chose the Lourinhã Formation instead of the Morrison Formation.  The Morrison Formation tends to have better-preserved specimens and more popular species.  I find it more interesting than the Lourinhã Formation. :-\

Perhaps it's because they already covered the Morrison in such an iconic episode (potentially THE WWD episode depending on who you ask) plus a spin-off special, and now they're wanting to focus on something new.

Don't get me wrong, a trip back to the Morrison would be delightful to see in their new season but I'm excited to see whatever they have in store.

If they wanted to do something new to the Morrison I would have preferred they did the Shaximiao Formation or Shishugou Formation...  The Lourinhã Formation just seems like an inferior clone of the Morrison...

A main selling point of this doc is that it will be covering research that is currently being done, so I imagine that had a big influence on the formations chosen.

Torvosaurus

There is always more to explore in the Morrison Formation, don't get me wrong, but between "Walking with Dinosaurs", "When Dinosaurs Roamed America" and "Allosaurus" they've touched on the Morrison Formation quite a bit. The Lourinha Formation might be a nice change of pace. It would be similar but would also show how dinosaurs evolved differently in different parts of the world.

I feel like Dinosaur Revolution dealt with what there is in the Lourinhã Formation. I can't imagine what else one can do with that formation. But I'm open to seeing something different.

I forgot about Dinosaur Revolution. They did very well with the Lourinha Formation. How about the Tendaguru? 😀

I would have much preferred the Tendaguru Formation to the Lourinhã Formation.

I had that initial reaction too, but then I realized that there actually isn't a ton of named species from Tendaguru, especially theropods. Or would be difficult to create a complete ecosystem from what we have.

I want to believe, but I doubt it. Who would do it, Vivid again?
In the kingdom of the blind, better take public transit. Well, in the kingdom of the sighted, too, really--almost everyone is a terrible driver.

Please tell me those aren't Pachyrhinosaurus perotorum and Nanuqsaurus... the Prince Creek formation has had enough coverage already.

I too am disappointed by what the images show.  Pachyrhinosaurus and tyrannosaurids have been showcased so much already.  I have hope for the Utahraptor episode and the Spinosaurus episode, but the rest seems so boring already due to the repetitive choice of species or ecosystem.

Horseshoe Canyon Formation the tyrannosaurs are Albertosaurus.

Sim

That's much better, but I would have much preferred Anchiceratops or Arrhinoceratops getting the spotlight for once, as much as I like Pachyrhinosaurus.

Ah, thank goodness!

Man they look gorgeous. Not the biggest fan of the hairdo looking feathers, but I really like the color work on these, particularly the black striped purple one.
