Quote from: Zelan on January 30, 2025, 04:45:43 PMHas anyone else got the 131 argentinosaurus?
I received mine not long ago but the eyes look a bit poorly painted and there's some glue running down the side of the head.

I'm not sure what it should look like, all I have ever seen are pictures of other colour variants and they all look much better application wise.

Here are also some quick pictures I took on my phone showing it with some other various sauropods and all the other haolonggood dinos I own.
Overall aside from the issues with the eyes and glue I'm very happy with this figure and I personally prefer this colour variant over the others.
My only other complaint is the body seems to be lacking in the darker spots compared to the promo images we've seen, but it's not really all that noticeable either.

Also I definately missed the preorder window but it came with all the bonuses anyways.

There are posters who bought 131 but never mentioned such fault. You might want to post this 2025 , i think most people there nowadays.

I actually have the green version as well and there are issues with poorly concealed seamlines of the mandible and also the neck. The blue-gray one is much better in this respect, you hardly can see any seamlines.

But this is now in the trusted hands of Dinosaur Models Artworks and will get some overhaul. It will have the mouth shut and the seamlines will be fully covered. And finally it will have a full repaint to bring it closer to the appearance of the paint master.

Hello,

My Argentinosaurus also came with eyes painted differently, I would not say poorly, but the yellow part was replaced with a lighter brown.

I will try to add some sort of yellow ring around the pupil, I hope it won't be too noticeable it is added paint and that I manage to do that.
Something like that:

Flaffy

That does look quite ominous. I think I prefer the more yellow eye, but I don't mind a darker sclera either.

Yours look like they forgot to finish the eye with some yellow.

I don`t even really mind the dark sclera if that`s the intended look but the iris is totally off center from the pupil, though thankfully with the glossiness of the eye it`s generally not too noticeable unless you look up close.
I just have no idea what the eye colour is meant to be on 131 since I can`t find up close photos or videos of it.

It's rare but unfortunately happens time to time. I had many HLG without problem but Mamenchisaurus has unfinised paint on half of it's mouth/beak.

SenSx

Yes maybe you can repaint it ?
My Mamenchisaurus also had some badly painted parts on its beak, and it seemed like a common issue as I saw others on video, I fixed it myself.

Paleo Flo

My Brachiosaurus came in yesterday. What a goliath it is in person! Now I have a feeling how you Argentinosaurus-guys must have felt when you received it.
I am very satiesfied with it and it dwarfs my other haolonggood sauropods easily.

As a Bonus I got the purple Huayangosaurus.  A very beautiful little figure.

I will try to post some pictures later

Another review for green variant.

Zelan

I heard back from Lana Time Shop whom I purchased my argentinosaurus and they in turn contacted Haolonggood who said it's normal to have these issues with hand painting.
Lana Time Shop did nonetheless offer me a small refund or coupon as compensation.

I may repaint the eyes at some point in the future but for now they don't bother me too much, especially from a normal viewing distance.

Paleo Flo

Very kind from Lana as known and expected!  8)

Quote from: Stegotyranno420 on December 19, 2024, 06:48:30 PMavatar_Turkeysaurus @Turkeysaurus Yeah, as mentioned before i seen my Muslim friends wear this, but my people still have tradition of evil eye (nazar) even if we dont wear it. Im not sure if the Muslims/Turks believe it but for us how it works like if someone compliments you, you need to be careful as they might have "put nazar onto you". Then you have someone put drops of heat water or salt on your head.
I always found it as superstitious, however.

Either way, these are some halal Styracosaurus,  mashallah 👌

Amulet is usually  attached to new things from new born babies to cars, houses etc. to protect them from complimentary people with jealous eyes.

Obviously it's super stitious, as far as i know it comes from earlier times than islam but somehow blend in with newer religion.

Regardless "Halal Styracosaurus" sounds right. Good old times:

Qurban Bayrami  ;D
these nazar gözler are also common thing in Kazakhstan, gotta buy the green one, my mom will approve

Hey, avatar_Turkeysaurus @Turkeysaurus and avatar_Samrukia @Samrukia, please don´t forget forum rule Nr. 6: "Topics concerning politics and religion are discouraged." So please refrain from posts of this kind in the future. Also, this image is unnecessarily brutal C:-)

Honestly I cannot see what would be political in the post.

The first item is a report of cultural traditions in the host country of the poster, in an attempt to make a connection to the ornamentation of the frill of the Haolonggood Styracosaurus. The poster does also not disclose if he is member of any religion. It is not a discussion of political views and opinions, which could result in a potential argument between members of this forum. My understanding is that the purpose of this forum rule is to avoid such arguments and heated discussions.

Obviously the image in the second item shows violence but then again any linked teaser or clip for any of the  Jurassic Park or Jurassic World movies would show violence of the same level or even worse. So if this pictures violates a forum rule so does any teaser from the Jurassic World franchise.

Exactly. That was what I was hinting at. So back to topic. :)

stargatedalek

There was no argument though. You are the only one trying to start an argument by claiming people were "being political". But you won't explain what about the posts in question was "political".

Is the word Halal banned? Because that's not banning political discussion, that's just racism and discrimination. Unless we want to also ban words like cross, church, priest, luck, pure, and christmas, since those can also be used with religious connotation. Christmas is just as much a religious term as Halal. I'm not a practicing Muslim and yet I'll still eat Halal food, just like I'm not a Christian but I'll still give gifts for christmas.

As for the meme image? It's definitely unwelcome, and something about the image looks like it might be edited from an image of a real animal being butchered which is uncomfortable. But the image itself isn't any more graphic than stuff like Jurassic Park trailers as previously said. It should probably be placed under a spoiler.

I love how the beak looks on the Argentinosaurus, I hadn't really given it a good look before but it looks quite nice in these videos. If it weren't for the big Mattel sauropods I would probably make an exception to only buying articulated figures and grab one of these.

DinoToyForum

Libraraptor and I have just discussed this in private and concluded that he misinterpreted the posts and rule in question. Forum Rule 6 states that "Topics concerning politics and religion are discouraged." The rule is worded that way – "discouraged", not forbidden – specifically to permit innocuous passing religious references like the ones above. As such, we wish to retract his moderator comment on those posts. C:-)

I posted a silly image 3 long months ago and admins are now having discussions about it?

You are too slow you'll never catch me  :P
