The Haolonggood fan account on X posted a message that there was some problem in the Haolonggood factory which caused delay of the T. rex production.

I'm also excited about the Torosaurus but I've actually had a decent one of those in my collection for a long time, the Safari Torosaurus that was released alongside the Sue figures! Yes, it's small, but it's a fantastic figure and I believe it was sculpted by Doug Watson.
I'm guessing that you've considered but weren't able to get the Favorite Saurolophus, avatar_Gwangi @Gwangi ?

Be funny if the alleged production delay was because they decided they needed to put lips on the damn toy. Not that that's in any way a bad thing, of course.

I have one I'd sell if I figure out a price.

You've guessed right. But I'm a patient collector and have no problem waiting for a more affordable and accessible option to present itself. It worked with Tarbosaurus and it looks like it'll work with Saurolophus too.

Just checked and there is no such message in their timeline, deleted or a mistake on your part?

Playing the long game once again pays off. Wise choice.

Has anyone here heard of wanhatoys.com?  Haolonggood seems to be selling their designer repaints through the site.

I had not. That's interesting, might be a better way to go than the fleeting Amazon listings.

I ask you again, where? I checked their X posts and I don't see it anywhere on their timeline.

That's not official confirmation. And apparently the post is gone now.

Maybe they didn't want customers to know that so fan account had to delete it.

Nothing is gone. It is just a bit hidden in a reply to another of their posts.

Quite some time, making a change to a sculpt means re-starting the production process from a middle point, make new prototypes and paint masters, be happy with the result, make new molds and then send them to the factory...

If the original figure didn't have lips, I have doubts that Haolongood has the time to fix that without delaying the figure for three months or more.

It might actually be factory issues and not an attempt to give the T.rex lips. :(

Over9K

"Mishaps" doesn't sound like "We're adding lips to the figure"... sounds more like someone didn't monitor the extrusion pump, overheated the regulator and damaged the gruber valve, requiring a repair/replacement before production can commence.

You get that on these big jobs.
