The actual posts on the Elsa Haolonggood account basically say that the Tyrannosaurus is going to be an April release. Not sure why people were expecting it sooner. And when it goes up for order, retailers already have it in stock.

The post by Elsa is very unclear my opinion, but one can certainly read it the way you do. On the other hand, the fan account had posted that there would be most likely a release in early March. And when we compare with 2023 and 2024, Haolonggood released 2 figures in March in these two years. So it seemed reasonable to assume that there would be at least one release in March.

If there were problems in the manufacture of the rex, well, couldn't happen to a nicer fella!

I bit the bullet and placed an order for the Xenoceratops repaint that I liked so much. Wanhatoys accepts Paypal.  I've had an informative email today with photos of my animal in his box being packed, and I see there's a freebie set of playing cards added - the ones that came with the Argentinosaurus (which I already have).  So awaiting courier collection.  The email says, "We are the official partner design studio of Haolonggood."  So far so good.  I might get hammered for customs, but that's no big deal.  I'll report on arrival in due course!

I had not. That's interesting, might be a better way to go than the fleeting Amazon listings.

Just got my brown Haolonggood Brachiosaurus back from Dinosaur Models Artworks with modification of the head.

He removed the teeth, filled the grooves between the beak and the skin, improved the transition between skin and beak, smoothed out the grooves on the beak, made touchup paint on the head, repainted the eyes and fixed some paint flaws on the tail.

Absolutely amazing work. Turned this great figure into a superb one.

He also improved mine and did a great work, you can see the pics on the collection thread.
I would love to see yours although it's probably very similar.

According to unspecified sources, there was an explosion in the Haolonggood factory. Fortunately nobody was injured. But many newly produced dinosaur figures landed on the roofs of nearby buildings. Children were very happy to received these free T. rex figures.

It seems like the lipped vs. lipless discussion escalated a bit too much.  ::D

Of course it was. However I sincerely hope that the delayed release of the long announced T. rex is not really due to some accident.

Turkeysaurus

It's not Haolonggood related but there was a discussion here about this pic by another company decided to make 1:35 scientifically accurate models.

Tarbosaurus & Shantungosaurus confirmed.

Technically speaking Haolonggood actually released something less than 2 weeks ago, the 1:20 scale Stegosaurus resin model. This gets easily forgotten in the conversations of this thread.

Paleofiguras posted that Haolonggood has re-released T. rex version 1 and would release version 2 most likely next week. The re-released version 1 is now modified without the base.

My honest opinion is that I cannot see what sense it makes to re-release an old version when the release of a new one is due any time soon. Who would then want to buy the old one.

Did Haolonggood also get a new CEO?

Blade-of-the-Moon

Idk, I never bought that one and I just don't see a reason to.

Why not re-release something like the Carcharodontosaurus instead?

Or GR toys owns that mold now?

The Carcho is a terrific sculpt, for sure quite superior to their old rex. The old rex isn't that bad, really, but, apart from the lack of lips in a very prominent way, it has the old, coarser scalation. That alone keeps me from sending mine to Bravo Models for 'lipping'.

The only logical reason I can think of would be to get rid of old stock, use the hype for the new T-Rex to see if anyone accidentally buys the old one.
A marketing strategy like The Asylum's mockbuster movies.
