Despite the StarAce web site calling it a 'great white shark,' the shark is clearly a hybodont. Sean Cooper was gracious enough to respond to a message inquiring about it, and says he modeled it on Asteracanthus. That's enough to make me want it. Anybody want to sell me just the shark?

Makes me think I should have held out for an eventual discount on the Asteracanthus rather than pre-ordering.

Huh, I thought they had already released a rex skull. Well anyway I'll add it to the first post tomorrow when I'm back at my computer.

Blade-of-the-Moon

It was posted last year, hoping it goes on sale. Haven't seen much buzz about it yet.

Just got the notification that my mosasaur + Asteracanthus shipped. Not sure yet where from, or what I might have to pay to claim it...

Appears to be coming from Bangladesh, which is subject to a 37% tariff according to Reuters. But of course that's only if it was also manufactured there.

That's something else. if it's not labeled where it's from correctly I believe it was said it could be returned?

I don't think it's deceit or anything else untoward. This might be made in Bangladesh, or it might be made in Vietnam or China and then distributed from there, I have no idea. Anyway, if it gets here before the 2nd I might be fine.

If you paid less than $800, and it's coming through the mail, you won't pay any extra fees/tariffs/duties. The $800 deminimus exemption is good until May 2nd.

Heh... I said "duties"

Yeah, and per avatar_RobinGoodfellow @RobinGoodfellow:

Quote from: RobinGoodfellow on April 16, 2025, 07:23:34 AMFrom StarAce Toys Ltd.  :

"Important Notice for Our U.S. Customers 🇺🇸
Small parcel shipments from China and Hong Kong to the United States may be subject to import duties or tariffs, depending on the order value and item type. These fees are set by U.S. Customs and are the responsibility of the recipient.

Good News!
To help you save on these charges, we will arrange all the US shipments directly from our Bangladesh factory, which may waive or significantly reduce tariffs on eligible orders.

The shipping charges will keep the same, but the delivery time may take a bit longer around 4~6 weeks for the U.S. shipment. We hope this will be an advantage to our U.S. Customers and thank you for your support all the time.  "

So odds are my package will arrive after May 2nd, but if it's shipped from Bangladesh I won't be responsible for the most exorbitant tariffs.
