Cool toys ! Japanese companies often have some innovative ideas.
I'm always highly impressed with such creativity on the part of my native land 8)

It's true, there's a lot of creativity in their products!

A company called 101 Toys makes a series of action figures called Palm Elf that is mostly skeletons of things. New from them, Smilodon in two colors:

I've been meaning to share these, but wasn't sure if I should have made a new thread, or just post them in the monster thread. Think these are in 1/12 scale, so probably display nicely alongside the Creative Beast BotC or Cyberzoic Smilodon figures. Maybe Rebor's as well.

Wonder what species it is meant to represent? First thoughts are S. populator, but that's only because it resembles a mount on the wikipedia page. A quick look at various skeletals on an image search for that species shows that the rib cage should probably be deeper. What do folks here think it is?

Apparently, there is also a combo box (including a Smilodon and a gorilla) in pre-order, for an expected release date in December :

But no silver version...

Aw man, I can't believe I only found this now, two days after the end of the pre-order period from Studio So-Ta's official store.

Look at the lovely 1:12 scale Dinosaur King cards that were on offer for pre-orders of the full set:

I just spoke with my Japanese mom and what actually puzzles me is the fact that albeit they are super creative regarding dino figures, Japanese people don't seem to consider paleontology as an important subject.
I mean, there are no public universities offering decent training courses in paleontology to my knowledge (Tōdai, Kyōdai, or Waseda among other things) and Japanese paleos are more often attached to foreign universities, which is a pity.
In any case, I would be keen on knowing how those cards work with the Kyōryū King machine !^^

Okay so as far as I can understand, one box includes 4 mini replicas of the original arcade game and are made of ABS & paper.
The omake "triple slash cards", included in each box, are also in 1:12 scale and you can feign to scan them on the mini consol.
Kinda meta for sure, but on the other hand, I don't really see the interest of buying it except if you are nostalgic of the original Kyōryū King ^^

Thanks for the additional info!

Here's a set of figures of King Fossil from the video game series Darius. King Fossil is one of the bosses in the game and appears to be a big mechanical coelacanth. Kind of a fun design!

Here are the 2 new Bandai Jurassic World Rebirth Tamagotchis, in pre-order ;)
Release date : 07-12-2025

Prehistory Resurrection

Did not know that Tamagotchis are still a thing; I thought it was trendy back in the 2000s. Also, wasn't expecting to get a 16 bit, pixelized game in 2025... However, I think it's nice to bring back that 2000s vibe.

Coming soon from FuRyu; Rebirth T-Rex and Mosasaurus figures:

Halichoeres

Thanks for the info, both of you!

Maybe this one could justify a new thread, but I feel like I'm keeping up a lot already:

Ikimon Nature Technicolor skeletons:
Futabasaurus
Triceratops
Tyrannosaurus

Nice for any fossil amateur, especially the Futabasaurus !
Apparently, each figure comes into 2 color versions and should be released the third week in August.
The price has been removed, but it'll cost 500 yens/piece.

However, I wish there were more choices in "less famous" dinosaurs.

This set was due last month but was recalled due to sculpt issues and is set to re-release. So maybe your August date is when they'll be available.

The Ikimon video that was released a few years ago showed more--maybe 5 or 6 subjects. So maybe there'll be a second set of three.

I recall an archelon.
