Quote from: Trenchcoated Rebbachisaur on April 25, 2025, 08:26:07 PMOh, thanks for the graphic! A bit more of a change than expected, then. Definitely doesn't seem like it would be too hard to make new models work with this mechanically, at least. I am no longer judging people for considering this worthy of hoping for model updates over, but I also won't hold my breath that they'll happen anytime soon.
The implication that you were judging me about it prior to this revelation is sending me

Quote from: SRF on April 11, 2025, 02:50:28 PMI don't think PNSO is considering to remake lot of theropods with lips now that Haolonggood has shared that the Chinese like depictions of lipless theropods better than lipped theropods. Like Haolonggood, PNSO probably sells more figures within China than in the rest of the world. Meaning that lipped theropods other than T. rex probably wont sell as well worldwide that they are worth the investment.

I'd like to let people know that this is not true. I've scoured through Haolonggoods social media and they've not said this anywhere as far as I can see. Their reasoning behind the lipless Rex was because the model makers thought it looked more 'fierce' and they aren't ruling out making a variant WITH lips.

As far as PNSO, there is no chance that they'd forgo their scientific credentials for alleged preferences from the general public. Even Zhao himself has talked about most theropods (except Spinosaurids) having lips.

PNSO are working even more in tandem with palaeontologists to make their figures now, so this conjecture makes ZERO sense.
Haolonggood didn't say it, but a member shared that in the Chinese community during the making of Haolonggood's first Tyrannosaurus, Haolonggood was requested to make its teeth more visible.

Paleofiguras posted first in hand pictures of the Coronosaurus:

looks really good excited to get this guy

Andys review of Coronosaurus.

I really like the postcranial proportions on the Coronosaurus! I think it's a way better representation of a Centrosaurus species(?) than their old Centrosaurus. I'm unsure if there's evidence for the Stellasaurus and Lokiceratops having shorter front limbs, but I don't like how it makes the Stellasaurus in particular look kinda swollen lol. Just a minor nitpick with the previous ceratopsians.

Halichoeres

This is a really nice figure. I'm sure I'll get it once it's available from a US retailer.

If they're going to do little clusters of closely related animals, I wish they had done the same for Lufengosaurus and its relatives!

You are not alone in hankering after this, avatar_Halichoeres @Halichoeres.  A missed opportunity!

The initial conjecture is still a load of tosh, though.

We will be getting a lipped Tyrannosaurus & other lipped theropods from PNSO.

I do also believe that PNSO will make (more) lipped theropods in the future. We should not forget that they have made three of them already in 2023.

My PNSO Coronosaurus has arrived. I expected it to be good, but I like it more than I expected to. The greens are such a breath of fresh air, and the hues are much more vivid and saturated in person. A fantastic little model.

I did notice that all four of the new PNSO ceratopsians are marked 2024, not 2025. Perhaps they were all supposed to come out last year but something pushed them back?
Perhaps it's due to a lengthy and perfectly normal manufacturing process, but both Haolonggood's T. rex and Sauroposeidon are marked 2025. We know that at least the Sauroposeidon definitely started production in 2024, released very early in 2025, and is still marked 2025.

Very interesting observation. I checked a few of the figures from 2024 and Edmontosaurus and Lufengosaurus are marked 2023.

I just spent a few minutes doing exactly the same thing! XD
I couldn't remember what PNSO figures came out early-to-mid 2024 besides Edmontosaurus, though. And yeah, looks like it could be normal for them. But May seems a little late in the year to still be marking 2024 on 2025 figures, right?

The Edmontosaurus came out in January 2024 and the Lufengosaurus in late March 2024. The next release in 2024 was the Wuerhosaurus which came out in late April and that one is already marked 2024. So this is somewhat unusual it seems and could indicate that there was some unexpected delay.

There were some rumors last year that PNSO was involved in some sort of legal battle against copyright infringement and this was confirmed to me (though without giving any further details) by Lana Time Shop.

In that case, I wonder what the first figure marked 2025 will be?

The long teased lipped Tyrannosaurus and the heavily rumoured Mosasaurus & Gigantoraptor might be the ones!

A lipped Tyrannosaurus has hardly been teased. Besides that, most of PNSO releases from the last three years haven't been teased before its release to begin with.

We simply don't have any clue of what they're coming up with next.
But today, I'm just being father

suspsy

PNSO doesn't tease their toys like certain other companies do, but there is that famous image of a digital model of a lipped T. rex that came out sometime last year. I guess you could argue then that it's been teased the most out of all of PNSO's recent products.

Someone suggested that it would come out in July and I suspect that may well be the case.

I wonder if it's just the relative timing of the lunar new year.

The question is if the lipped T. rex has been teased or rather leaked.

What do you mean it's "hardly been teased" they showed us a digital model of one...
