Quote from: Eatmycar on April 30, 2025, 08:16:51 PMThe posing on the HC Tyrannosaurus makes it look so much worse than it actually is. Of course it looks bad when the legs are together like it's holding in a poop on line at the DMV with its derpy arms out like that.

My complaints with the comparison aside, though, Lab Lockdown might be the best Rex they've done in a while.

I meann to me there's not many ways to make that figure look that good without hiding most of the body in photography...

It has its positives, the tail on that one is way better than the new Rebirth ones. Fully  painted, too.

Flaffy

Quite an attractive JW rex. Mattel has certainly come a long way since the original.

Flaffy

HC Tiger Raptor teaser?

Dilopho

I know a lot of people who are gonna be happy about that.
Delta was really awesome, they are cooking so hard with the raptors!
I wish I could have got a whole flock of Deltas but they weren't available here for long enough.

Here's the full pic, from Amazon Singapore (can't find it there now though). Can see the new Troodon as well up in the corner.

Here's also a good quality image of the Stegosaurus in its box, also from there:

Can't edit my post (it shows up empty), so need to make a double post. Here's new in box pics of the Super Colossal Tyrannosaurus, and Aquillops which Collect Jurassic shared earlier today:

Edit: Here's the codes for the Series 2 minis from the below video:

FG-001 Hesperosaurus & Irritator (repack)
FG-002 Mapusaurus & Monolophosaurus (repack)
FG-006 Gallimimus & Stegosaurus (repack)
FG-007 Bistahieversor & Kaprosuchus (repack)
FG-008 Carnotaurus & Stygimoloch (repack)
FG-011 Allosaurus & Dilophosaurus (repack)
FG-012 Dreadnoughtus (neck and tail need assembly)
FG-013 Indominus rex (repack)
FG-014 Giganotosaurus (repack)
FG-015 Pyroraptor & Therizinosaurus (repack)
FG-016 Atrociraptor Tiger & Elasmosaurus
FG-017 Majungasaurus & Ouranosaurus (not a repack; actually the green Chaos Theory Majungasaurus sculpt)
FG-018 Pteranodon & Triceratops (brown) (repack?)
FG-019 Becklespinax & Dimetrodon (the Becklespinax is actually the one from the Chaos Theory Advent Calendar set, compared to the Wave 1 version)

Here's a video on the Dreadnoughtus mini showing it needs assembled first, along with a size comparison between other minis (Brachiosaurus, Apatosaurus, Mosasaurus, etc). The first mini to be released like this.

Here's a better quality image taken from amazon of the Series 3? minis:

Does the Stegosaurus have jaw articulation here or am I just seeing things? I hope it does...

The SC Rex looks really good in that photo, it's painted better than the standard one.

And eheh...it's just my opinion, but I think that stylised Aquilops looks... a lot better than the actual design of it in the movie, from what we've seen of it so far.

Okay, so a whole host of figures just dropped.
You can check the Smyths website to find even more than this. There are SO many, including Achillobator.
I'm not sure where these ^ pics are from because they were sent to me.

Faelrin

Man the Purussaurus looks so good. Can't wait to get that one.

Oh lord you were not kidding about the dump of new stuff there.

Achillobator (far from accurate, but I like what they did here):

Archaeornithomimus (it's feathered, but man the mouth is kind of bad):

Beipiaosaurus (cool to see a smaller therizinosaur in the line, unfortunately it's mostly scaly when we know this one was covered in feathers):

Ceoptera (just described last year):

Herrerasaurus (Mattel make your mind already):

Minqaria (also described last year, and once again they can never get ornithopod digits right):

Nanotyrannus (or juvenile T. rex, whatever):

Brand new Zuniceratops sculpt:

Zora Bennett & Velociraptor (was talking about this set earlier today lol):

In package pics of the first Rebirth wave of Frenzy Packs are on Smyths as well.

It's worth noting that Smyths France has a listing for the mutant with no picture yet, under the name
Spoiler
Distortus rex
[close]

Translating it talks about a built in snarl?

suspsy

The Euoplocephalus is a real disappointment. I can understand the Ankylosaurus toys looking the way they do, what with their media appearances, but there's no reason for Euoplocephalus not to look more like the real deal. Especially when the Edmontonia exists.

Very pleased about the Purussaurus, though. Looks better than I imagined. Can't wait to add it to my sons' collection come Xmas. And I'll review it for the blog long before then.

Op is all updated now. Had an internet blip out, but thankfully it was right after it was all saved. Thank goodness.

Hopefully I'm not missing anything in either the species list, or whatever. 72 species from the current count.

WOW that Purussaurus looks amazing. Raptor and Zora will definetly be a must buy for me, and every pic of that Hammond Collection Spino has me even more hyped

This person has the new Lab rex and a bunch of the other figures too in this video.
There are more on the channel!

It seems that the Quetz is difficult to stand without the wings opening?

Faelrin

I've been following him instagram for a couple of years now (uh since 2019 at least). He just posted recently on there the haul he got from Canadian walmart. Glad to see he has reviews out of the new figures already.

Mattel is definitely not holding back for a movie year. Even the non-cannon figures look higher effort than usual. Plenty of figures for unique species collectors ( avatar_Halichoeres @Halichoeres I imagine you'll be getting quite a few of these?).

Purussaurus looks very nice. I would've omitted the dorsal ridge, but I'm glad we finally have a figure of the largest caiman ever! The tail looks to be nice and long too unlike poor Sarcosuchus and Gryposuchus.

Chilantaisaurus has an attractive colour scheme. And joins the Vitae version as the second figure of the genus on the market. Quite a naturalistic sculpt considering how Mattel handled their last Neovenatorid... Less said about that one the better.

The Strike Attack assortment adds a plethora of new species as usual. Ceoptera and Minqaria are the standouts for me given how newly they were described. Not sure why we needed a THIRD version of Zuniceratops, and FOURTH sculpt of Herrerasaurus, but I guess those two are someone's favorite dinosaur at Mattel. Still waiting on a couple of cannon species that have yet to be produced to this day... ::)

PrimevalRaptor

That Purussaurus is amazing! Big fan of the colors on the Chilantaisaurus too.
Achillobator is interesting, it's very JP raptor despite the feathers but I do like the pose, feels more birdlike.
Also agreed, having a smaller therizinosaur is really great...now if only they didn't omit feathers on a species known to have them (inverse Rugops lmao)
