Just a heads up that apparently the photo of the D. rex figure is being taken down because it wasn't meant to come out yet.

That's for its psychic powers and fire breath gland

Also much easier to put a bowler hat and monocle on.

Honestly this thing is giving me evil beluga vibes.
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

I'm certainly warming up to it.

Carnoking

I don't know, it still feels a bit too derivative and safe for my taste. Would have been much more intrigued by this new direction by something that looked completely malformed. This just doesn't say aberrant genetic mistake to me, it just smacks of creature design 101

I'll still buy one though and see the movie three times in theaters because I have no self control

PrimevalRaptor

Yeah I do kinda like the quadrupedal vibes but it still is posed like sooo many other movie monsters and idk, I feel if you go down the mutant route at least do stuff like having the number of limbs be uneven (or...as overdone as that one is, a lack of eyes would make it a bit more scary too)

JPuggy

I think it would've been better if one of its arms was much smaller and deformed, maybe melded with one of its other small arms

I would've like it more if it didn't exist. :(

Over9K

While I have many Jurassic-esqe Tyrannosaurs, I only have one Mattel T.rex, the Supa-Cole-oss-al, mostly because I don't collect hard plastic pieces. I'mma make an exception for that new chonky-boi...

Over9K

BTW... Hopefully Lucasfilm can file a lawsuit against Universal for using what is obviously a ripoff of the Rancor Monster from Return Of The Jedi.

Pachyrhinosaurus

So no party plates this time?  :))

I'm really impressed by the tiger raptor, though. Will definitely be picking it up. Hopefully a JP1 repaint is to follow since its such a huge improvement on the original HC raptor. Troodon looks decent, too. The head should be wider and not as deep, with bigger eyes, but I'm happy we're getting toys based on the game at all at this point. Maybe we'll see the tylosaurus as well sometime?

Okay here's my thoughts. Also op is updated now. Sorry for the wait guys. Went back to sleep earlier lol.

Reuben Delgado & Parasaurolophus: Glad we finally have a film accurate Dominion (and now Rebirth) Parasaurolophus figure. Way better then the 2022 attempt. Just need a proper adult (HC preferred).

Dr. Henry Loomis & Juvenile Pteranodon: It's nice to see another pterosaur figure that can be in the quadrupedal stance. Not perfect, but it's something at least. I like that it has the same colors and JPIII head sculpt as the Dominion toy. Kind of weird it's digitigrade though?

Dominion one for comparison:

Spinosaurus Danger Set: Glad to have yet another Spinosaurus in the line, and a slightly smaller one (like the comping T. rex I guess). Could work as a juvenile or subadult?

Hammond Collection Stygimoloch: Looks really good. Jaw articulation could have been better, but I'll still take it. Can't wait to get this one.

Hammond Colllection Troodon: The eyes are good, but that's the only thing about it I like. The rest barely resembles the Telltale game design, and I think the Camp Cretaceous figure did it way better. Like where's the red on the throat and what's with the puke green? The box render is so bad too.

Hammond Collection Velociraptor: The painted/molded teeth on the tongue is awful. Disappointing they can't do the JP heads right on the HC figures but do them correctly for the mainline and Legacy. Like what's up with that? The in package shot clearly shows a quality control issue with the paint for the stripes on the neck bleeding down. Good to know about that in advance for what it is worth. The lack of belly paint that continues to the tail is also disappointing. A clear cost cutting measure. I hate to be so negative towards it, but it was one of my most anticipated, and I was really hoping they would do it better. That said it is a clear improvement over the AC one, despite some of the clear problems it has, and the difference in scale.

The D. rex is kind of cute in a weird way. I didn't really care for it initially but it's been growing on me, and they make for a fun toy for sure.

Edit: I forgot to put my wishlist out there.

Yeah that's a lot and I don't know how much will be do-able for me. Especially since I'm still wanting to save up for some Creative Beast figures in between (like the Gorgosaurus). At least there's another month to wait before this stuff starts hitting shelves here in the US. Thankfully some of these aren't coming until much later in the year too (like the Purussaurus).

I vastly prefer the original colour scheme for the HC Troodon.

I didn't even notice the teeth-tongue on the HC raptor. What??
Why? Delta was perfect, why even change the sculpt at all?

Probably to save on molding costs.

If I'm being honest, I'd rather wait until a better time than recieve something subpar like that.

This made me laugh, kinda cute, uh?  ????

You know, maybe you are right, now that I took another look at it...

The problem is, this thing DOES NOT belong in the Jurassic Park universe and thus I can't appreciate it whatsoever.

Had this creature desing being used in any other movie franchise I would be open to it.

I was somewhat in the same boat at first, but it is growing on me as well. To each his own, but one thing that has kind of helped me wrap my head around it is: if we are to believe it is merely a mutant, and not a hybrid, then at its genetic core, it is meant to be a T. rex, albeit a malformed one that didn't cook right in the egg and later given a different name. If that indeed is the case, its story may prove to be a little sad and I almost see myself feeling sorry for it. Despite its appearance, it is actually more of a real dinosaur than the Indominus rex, Indoraptor and Scorpius rex.
