I have often wished that Favorite Co would give more work to sculptor Hirokazu Tokugawa, whose Prehistoric Life models are among my favorite products from the company. Well, the monkey paw heard my wish, because they have brought him back after several years to launch a new line of "Stuffed Models," which appear to be cartoony plush toys.

I guess they ran out of stock dinosaurs for the Soft Model line...

To me, it seems that Favorite has adopted a  remarkably conservative approach to their 'soft' figures (and I don't mean this in a very positive sense) , in striking contrast to HLG and PNSO. I mention these because they are in the vanguard of exciting new releases, often unanticipated even if hoped for.  For me, Favorite used to be an  admired company, with a striking style of their own, right up there with Battat and Carnegie Safari. It's just that they seem to have lost interest in the possibilities of creativity. When month after month, year after year, as in the last three, nothing much is offered, one starts to see impossibilities, not possibilities.

Heh, does the maneki neko also twist wishes in ironic ways?

Oops yeah, I'm sorry that it has turned your wish into a cartoony model so far :*D

This sounds a bit like the neko's mischief but who knows, 2025 is not over yet, so there is still a ray of hope that more scientifically "qualified" figures sculpted by Tokugawa will be released by the end of the year, if it's what you meant.

Favorite's other sculptor, Kazunari Araki, has been occupied with the new "Master Craft" line, whose inaugural offering is, plot twist, a Tyrannosaurus:

This is similar to the Vinyl Model line, but somewhat less stylized. For when you want something to safely swing at your sibling, but also don't want it to be a tripod.

Interesting, I'm curious to see where they go with this.

Well they are really cute, I will at least give them that. I think the Stegosaurus is my favorite of these, but I do find all appealing.
