Jurassic World Evolution 3- Coming 21 October 2025

Prehistory Resurrection

Edit; Trailer on the official channel:

Pachyrhinosaurus

Walking Pterosaurs and baby dinosaurs were two things I wanted to see happen in JWE3! Hoping they fill in the missing canon variants and improve the decoration/construction tools. Judging by the trailer, it looks like there might be a little more freedom/flexibility with placing down scenery.

And it's gone. Expected it since it wasn't coming from Frontier or the official Jurassic World channel, or the major Jurassic channels (Beaver, BestinSlot, Evo, etc).

Here's everything in the trailer though:

Spoiler
-Herd of Brachiosaurus and Parasaurolophus walking, with Gallimimus in the distance (you see this sort of seen in a lot of the previous games trailers)
- Baby Mosasaurus (with a look at the kelp in the distance, just barely visible, before it moves onto the next seen)
-Walking Geosternbergia, next to a baby one with some females? in the distance, as well as the return of the desert biome/foliage/rocks and what appears to be a new building set, similar to the Malta ones, but different
-Baby Triceratops with some returning autumn foliage, and cherry blossom trees which are brand new (but in Planet Zoo)
-Yep new building set, with return of the Mediterranean biome from the looks of it, along with a new fountain. New rocky cliffs (more on that later), new fountain decoration, a large lagoon, and some aviaries can be seen, as well as the return of the zip line in the distance. A large pool of water appears behind the lagoon, and it might be deep water, which would be a highly requested new feature added. Too early to know though.
-New Asian (Japanese?) styled building set (like seen in Planet Zoo and Planet Coaster), along with cherry blossom trees, and bamboo shoots, another new plant seen in Planet Zoo, and adult and baby Pteranodon are also in this shot (almost looks like the JPIII one but with different colors, alongside the World styled females). Edit: There was also a small little red wooden bridge in the back that I missed earlier.
-Baby Brachiosaurus and shot of Brachiosaurus submerged in water up to their shoulders. I think that confirms deeper water? Temperate biome/foliage looks to be returning as well (with the mixed in Cherry Blossoms and Asian styled buildings). Lily pads on the water too, which is also new, and another plant in Planet Zoo
-Baby Stegosaurus and in the Tropical biome with a new social play animation
-Baby Baryonyx with adult in the Tropical biome
-Baby Velociraptor with adult in the Desert or Mediterranean biome
-Baby Carnotaurus with adult, both attacking a fence in the Temperate biome (again cherry blossom trees)
-Baby Allosaurus with BaBR/Dominion styled Adult, with a new social playing animation in the Mediterranean biome
-Baby Tyrannosaurus with two adults in the Temperate biome with the new Asian building set in the back, next scene shows the babies playing together which is a new social animation
-Brand new terrain tools, similar to what's in Planet Zoo, but possibly expanded? Also can see Radius, Intensity, Falloff, and Slope bars (in addition to things like the forest, water, feeders, and terrain paint brushes, like the previous game, rocks seem to be missing though). A digging tool is shown which is creating rocky cliffs on the sides.
-Spinosaurus is standing a large rock, in a shallow pool of water, and water options are shown, with an add water, remove water, and a water depth option. This is different from how it works in Planet Zoo, or Planet Coaster. Don't have PlanCo2, so not sure if it has changed or not from the previous games. Water added to a cliff automatically creates a shallow pool and a waterfall however which is dope. Can also see the return of time tools, and a brand new undo and redo feature. There's also a little camera icon next to those icons. Might be for the camera mode? Not sure.
-New forest brush types: Cover and Pasture (lots of options), Arid & Barren (lots more options), Wetlands (can't see the options) with Radius and Intensity sliders
-Transport team carrying a JP raptor styled crate above some Triceratops, next to aviaries in the Temperate/Asian biome
-Brand new hatchery screen. Can select skin colors (and preview them, a long requested feature), male or female sex (including dimorphism, such as for the Triceratops shown). The scientist system appears to be returning, which I know folks weren't a fan of.
-There appears to be a nesting system. Medium nest 1 is shown being moved into a little rocky cave like area (cave building confirmed?), and Triceratops are selected and green colored, with a green smiley icon under the nest label showing the nest position it is isloated
-Edit: I somehow glanced over the tiny fence in the one shot with the Gallimimus, and Brachiosaurus. So finally some fence height variety.
-Viewing log is returning, hadrosaurs wading in deeper water?
-New Tropical wooden short fence type, or decoration? Also a dune buggy or something? Driving pretty fast into a crowd lol

Edit: Not in the trailer, but from something posted on reddit (which may have come from here along with the trailer, but it got nuked), which might hint that custom buildings like in the Planet games are coming, along with a way to share parks, and builds, on cross-platform. Will take this with a grain of salt, but shoot it wouldn't surprise me. While I don't often have the energy to create my own custom buildings and whatnot, I appreciate the option, and hope to see what the community does with it, if this aspect is legit. Everything else from that post turned out to be though. That said, if we're getting a Planet styled custom building system, we need the x, y, z movement tools, and a grid placement system to be carried over as well.

Edit 2: More info from the article before it got nuked thanks to a comment by Difficult-Lock-8123:

Quote-Apparently some form of modular buildings
 - improved terraforming including the option to create "deep lakes", where dinosaurs can swim, fish or eat algae
- More than 80 species at release
- Campaign locations include Malta, Hawaii and Japan

Sounds like some species could be cut. Really hope not, but it wouldn't surprise me. When JWE2 released, none of the Dr. Wu DLC hybrids returned, and were sold in DLC (again). Just hope some of the fan favorites from the recent DLCs return, like Archelon, Deinocheirus, Yutyrannus, Utahraptor, etc. Not gonna look forward to having to buy them again, or anything really.

Another edit: Assuming the number is correct, then yeah, there was 122 creatures with all DLC. More then 80 could be anything from 80-90, or more. At the very least I guess it means 80. So far we know of at least 14 from the trailer (if not a few more in the background I might have missed?), and literally all of those, but the Geosternbergia were film animals.

avatar_Faelrin @Faelrin Part of the reason Planet Coaster 2 didn't do so well at launch was because they didn't include everything that was in the original, so it surprises me that Frontier would do the same thing again.

It's on Steam now:

https://store.steampowered.com/app/2958130/Jurassic_World_Evolution_3/

Edit: Protoceratops (has Psittacosaurus quills) and Guanlong (feathered) are brand new. Day 1/Deluxe DLC also contains Concavenator and Thanatosdrakon, and some other stuff (scenery and blueprints, which confirms modular building, aside from the Steam page itself confirming that).

So yeah they're already going to be reselling DLC species in DLC yet again.  ::)

Still very excited by what was shown in the leaked trailer. The Steam page confirms some species won't breed though (over 80, but only 75 will). Swimming dinosaurs confirmed. Mom wants me to see something, so I'll come back to finishing this in a bit.

Edit: Well not much else confirmed there. That said I do not have the specs to play it. Will need a new laptop. Need a new one anyways for Subnautica 2 and the Oblivion remaster. Wouldn't hurt to have for the older games too. Maybe next year or something.

And the steam page confirms they use AI for some of the scientists portraits. Big no no there.

Edit 2: And 82 confirmed on the official website. Yeah 40 got cut. Maybe 38 as Concavenator and Thanatosdrakon are part of the Deluxe, but still. That's a big chunk that are possibly going to get resold again.

Trenchcoated Rebbachisaur

Really took them three games to catch up to Zoo Tycoon, huh.

A third of the animals are missing, and they're already selling them back as DLC... Yeah lmao nope, Frontier, you're not getting me a third time with this nonsense.
Maybe I'll get the base game in a sale down the line, but rn it seems like it is more sensible for me to just hope that the Prehistoric Kingdom devs get that perfectionist stick out of their butt and finally stop trying to create "(Prehistoric) Planet Zoo but better" on an Indie budget in favor of actually getting the fundamentals of a zoo management simulator implemented.

Pachyrhinosaurus

I'm hoping we at least get all the canon species and 1993 Nublar map and construction set. That's all I really use in the game, anyway.

I guess it means they can make unique faces for each scientist instead of drawing from the same pool (unless it's just replacing the use of paid human models) but also was anyone really complaining about that?

Anyway I dunno about this one. I fell hard off of JWE2 after a while, not sure I'm willing to pay nearly $90 AUD (or over $100 for the deluxe edition) for the same game but with babies and less janky pterosaurs. Think I'll just keep my eye on Prehistoric Kingdom until it's in a more complete state.

My collection! UPDATED 21.03.2020: Dungeons & Dinosaurs!

Gwangi

At least the deluxe pre-order/ DLC pack has new dinosaurs included, and the models look excellent, but it doesn't sit well with me that I'll have to pay to have access to dinosaurs I already paid for in the last game. Everything from the last game should come included with this one.

Spinokaprogorgon

I hope jwe3 introduces cenozoic creatures into the game, at least the canon ones like smilodon and wooly mammoth
When life closes a door, open it again! It's a door that's how they work, dummies!

Trenchcoated Rebbachisaur

The wooly mammoth is canon now? From Chaos Theory, I assume? Would definetly be a nice inclusion.

I hope they include JWR content on launch. Even if I won't get the game myself (yet) I will probably watch youtube videos about it. Distortus would be quite funny in a zoo setting, and the two new hybrids mutants are very distinct from the three main hybrids we had to contend ourselves with.
Personally I feel like the non-breeding animals won't be the hybrids, but the animals too small to have visible babies (Compsognathus et al). Even if you add Aquilops, I believe that's less than the maximum 14 that could fill the non-breeding slots. And that's assuming we don't get adult Moros, JWD Dimorphodon being the juvenile of normal Dimorphodon, stuff like that.
I hope all the already made canon models (especially Nothosaurus and JWD Parasaurolophus) appear. I kinda doubt we'll get all of the Frontier-original models for animals added to the franchise since (the JWD and CC animals mainly). Also hope we'll get a Chaos Theory DLC expansion for the missing CC/CT animals.
Return wise, hm. We have 40-50 ish proper canon animals (not counting Mamenchisaurus, Metriacanthosaurus and Segisaurus) which leaves room for 35-25 of the Frontier originals.

I assume if any canon animals are missing, it's the ones with the same level of presence as the (still absent) TLW Mamenchisaurus; which would be the Prologue Iguanodon, Oviraptor (shame), TLW Pteranodon, maaaaybe Corythosaurus. Most of the cuts are probably Frontier originals, especially animals that play second fiddle to canon species, like Tsintaosaurus. I'd assume the species that make it back in have to both be fan favourites and either fulfill a unique niche or be a Theropod.
Added my own "Frontier originals roster prediction likelyhood" list in a spoiler, feel free to judge.
Spoiler
Acrocanthosaurus: Unique, but niche fame, probably withheld for DLC.
Archaeornithomimus: Nobody's favorite Ornithomimid. If any of them get cut for good, this is the one.
Albertosaurus: Seemingly not too popular due to odd design choices. Might get cut entirely.
Australovenator: Beautiful skin, unique-ish niche. Potentially basegame, Potentially withheld for DLC.
Carcharodontosaurus: Domnion Giga did "Spiky snooty Carcharodontosaurus" better, probably cut entirely.
Cryolophosaurus: Unique, Novel, good companion for Dilophosaurus. Blame this guy for Australovenator being DLC.
Coelophysis: Unique vibes. Probably not unique enough for DLC, would put it in basegame.
(Concavenator: Unique, but steps on other medium Theropods toes a bit. Would have guessed DLC (which is confirmed, I guess))
Deinonychus: Controversial. Personally feel like the existence of Velociraptor-as-Deinonychus makes it completely pointless. Gets a lot of hate for being an ugly tadpole but does have a vocal fanbase. Might get cut. Might not.
Deinocheirus: Very unique, to the point I feel like it not being in the basegame might cause an uproar. Probably Basegame.
Giganotosaurus (Frontier): Unique enough that I could maaaaybe see it getting included, will probably have to wait for a free update though.
Gigantoraptor: I honestly have no idea what to think about this one, so Imma say witheld for DLC.
Majungasaurus: Love this animal but Carnotaurus and Metriacanthosaurus kinda muscle into its niche. Might get added in a free update, but doesn't seem like either a basegame shoe-in or a DLC seller.
Megalosaurus: Forgot about this one and had to go back, so uh. Cut.
Metriacanthosaurus: JWE series classic and a good generic medium Theropod. Not too popular though. I'd wager this one stays basegame.
Proceratosaurus: A lesser version of Monolophosaurus and the new Guanlong. Probably gets cut.
Qianzhousaurus: Pulls off Albertosaurus's niche better, will probably get to stay. Seems popular enough that it might get withheld for DLC.
Segisaurus: Anybody with any lick of sense would immediately cut this pointless bargain bin Coelophysis-baby. It is small enough to slide into the "tiny asexuals" tier though. Unsure if cut or not but probably not.
Sinosauropteryx: "Tiny Asexuals" tier. Likely in, might be withheld for DLC though.
Spinoraptor: Got witheld for DLC once, so that's probably happening again.
Struthiomimus: Series Classic Early game dinosaur and a great and charming design. Would be surprised not to see it in basegame.
Suchomimus: I'd actually assume it gets cut, in anticipation for an upcoming Chaos Theory Variant. Will be missed.
Troodon: The venom is fun and has to be programmed in for other animals anyway but I feel like it doesn't bring too much to the table. Unsure but I feel like chances are good for it either getting cut or moved to DLC.
Utahraptor: Fan favorite. I can see the either putting it in the basegame or leaving it for DLC.
Yutyrannus: Will definitely make it in, but probably withheld for DLC.

Alamosaurus: Distinct enough to be witheld for DLC. Could see it get cut entirely if they think Titanosaurus makes it superfluous, but hopefully not.
Amargasaurus: Great at filling the small Sauropod niche, Basegame unless another small Sauropod replaces it, then DLC.
Ankylodocus: Got witheld for DLC once, so that's probably happening again.
Camarasaurus: Might be the small Sauropod who replaces Amargasaurus. Not sure if cut or basegame with this one.
Diplodocus: Reasonably popular, probably not a DLC seller. Probably basegame.
Dreadnoughtus (Frontier): Won't make it in. We will probably get the Dominion variant, though.
Herrerasaurus: JWE Modding overinflated the internal numbers for this lil dude's usage somehow, apparently, so Frontier might believe it to be a fan favourite and include it. Otherwise, seems like it'll probably get cut.
Mamenchisaurus (Frontier): Not sure about this one - Brachiosaurus and the upcoming Titanosaurus are so similar to it in niche. I'd say it's probably getting cut.
Nigersaurus: Cut. RIP.

Chasmosaurus: ...Unique niche, I guess? No idea what'll happen with this one.
Chungkingosaurus/Gigantspinosaurus/Huayangosaurus: The three Asian Stegosaurs got a lot of flak since very beginning of the first game. My guesses for them is that Chungkingosaurus will maybe be basegame if the Frontier Kentrosaurus isn't, and Huayangosaurus might appear in a DLC.
Crichtonsaurus: Might get cut thanks to Minmi taking its niche. Would assume it to be basegame if Minmi isn't, though.
Dracorex: Ugly Duckling stuck between Stygimoloch and Homalocephale. Model might see reuse as baby Stygimoloch, otherwise cut.
Dryosaurus: Fulfilled its role so well that it prevented any other small Ornithopod from getting added. Basegame, guaranteed.
Edmontosaurus: Series classic, first herbivore of many fans, quasi-canon design thanks to using website design with no other version appearing more canon-ly to replace it, yet. Basegame.
Euoplocephalus: Might make it in, fans liked it in the first game. Hopefully it'll get better skins. Could see it either as basegame or DLC with a funky reskin.
Homalocephale: Favorite chewtoy of Youtubers everywhere, cute, and not interesting enough to sell a DLC. Basegame it is.
Iguanodon (Frontier): Only situation where I could see the Frontier version getting preferential treatment over the canon counterpart. Might still get cut, but might get added in a free update if the Prologue Iguanodon is present ingame.
Kentrosaurus (Frontier): Unique enough to maybe survive alongside CC variant. If it's in, chances are all the Asian Stegosaurs get cut.
Maiasaura: Apparently notoriously not very popular. Either cut or basegame.
Minmi: Unique and generally beloved enough to be DLC material.
Muttaburrasaurus: I personally like it a lot but have no idea what the wider community thinks. Could go either way. Probably not DLC material though.
Nodosaurus/Polacanthus/Sauropelta: One of these makes it in and the others don't. My money is on Polacanthus.
Olorotitan: Another animal I like that I feel will probably get cut. Sads.
Ouranosaurus (Frontier): Probably not popular enough to survive alongside the CC variant. Cut.
Pachyrhinosaurus (Frontier): Might get cut in anticipation for the CT version. Not sure.
Pentaceratops: I like it aesthetically but even I forgot about it until doing a second pass. Either cut, or if it's in, it'll be a basegame animal, and probably replace Torosaurus since they are pretty similar vibes-wise. Although I could also see it getting a DLC where it finally gets a nice-looking skin, at last
Torosaurus: Not sure on this one. Feel like it has a chance to stay just due to JPOG nostalgia and the whole "different tier bargain bin Triceratops" potential. Would probably feel differently if the model looked worse. Unsure.
Tsintaosaurus: Plays third fiddle to Corythosaurus. Probably the most convinced of a 'Cut' I've been throughout this whole thing. If it reappears it will definitely get a funky new skin.
Stegoceratops: With Ankylodocus's glowup, it's now the commonly agreed upon least liked design. Withheld for a DLC where it might finally receive a glowup too (hopefully bringing it in line with the cancelled movie version).
Styracosaurus: Basegame. Would be weird if it wasn't.
Wuerhosaurus: Wuer-who cares, Stegosaurus with weird eyebrows, pass and cut.

Barbaridactylus: Cut. Pteranodon and Geosternbergia exist, we really don't need a third knockoff Pteranodon. Might return in a DLC though. Hopefully with fuzz and a better skin.
Cearadactylus/Maaradactylus/Tropeognthus: Heavily doubt all of these will be basegame, but one of them probably will be. Not sure what happens to the other two after, either.
Dsungaripterus: Might be small enough to be part of the "Tiny Asexuals". Probably Basegame.
(Geosternbergia: Beloved but very similar to Pteranodon (being another species in the same genus and all). Would have expected either basegame or DLC, and well, guess it's basegame).
Jeholopterus: "Tiny Asexual". Basegame.
Tapejara: I coulddd see it being regarded as too small for babies, but, Imma say it's not, but it might be basegame anyways - probably showcasing more diverse diets in Pterosaurs by letting it eat fruit now (very wild guess, I know). Basegame.
(Thanatosdrakon: Superfluous thanks to Quetz existing why the hell did they bother - oh, it's a confirmed DLC species already? Whoops.)

Archelon: Popular, unique, interacts with new mechanics. Feels likely this one gets withheld for DLC but that would make me sad so hopefully not.
Attenboroughsaurus/Plesiosaurus: One of these will probably get cut in favor of the other. I was leaning Plesiosaurus, for the name alone, but Attenboroughsaurus would probably look better playing with young...
Dunkleosteus: Fan favorite, not sure on if it returns, is witheld for DLC, or Cut entirely, though. (Megalodon being basegame has good implications for it)
Elasmosaurus/Liopleurodon: Not sure they'll want to keep the two dragon-crocced Marine reptiles, especially with the new versions around. I would cut them; but I could see them getting a DLC that gives them a nice new intricate skin and maybe really insane dimorphism.
Ichthyosaurus: Depends on how the new water works; if it is better for small animals than lagoons were, it's in. If not, it might get cut (especially if Shonisaurus is basegame) but I lean towards it being basegame.
Kronosaurus: Would be a pretty good mid-size macropredator (although that descriptor applying to Kronosaurus is utter silly nonsense) to have for the basegame. If not, it's DLC, and Liopleurodon or a new Pliosaur gets basegame instead.
(Megalodon: Would have said exactly the same thing about it as about Dunkleosteus, but I guess it's confirmed, yay.)
Shonisaurus: Basegame or withheld for DLC. Probably the latter, honestly.
Styxosaurus: Would be a great basegame Plesiosaur to have, especially since it would synergize well with the smaller ones. Assuming they don't eat each other, I mean.
Tylosaurus: Didn't seem to be particularly well liked. Basegame or Cut.

If something didn't appear, I either forgot about it, or it's a franchise animal (likely from Camp Cretaceous or Dominion).

Wooly mammoth isn't canon, it does not appear on chaos theory.

Frontier has ditched the use of gen AI for JWE3. Thought folks here would be glad to see this bit of news.

Definitely some good fricking news, thank you for sharing!

After seeing Rebirth I really hope Frontier nails the rex variant model from the movie.
