Dippy is stunning so far.

While I hope that the latest paper detailing Diplodocus integument is taken into account for this figure, based on HLG's history on referencing the fossil record I am not holding my breath for it.
How should the integument look?

By Tess Gallagher, the latter two are a hypothesised distribution based on the first diagram.

SenSx

Wow that Diplodocus is stunning so far.
On top of that, from what I can see, it seems to have a nice little sculpted head.
Hope the paint scheme will be as good on the final product.

How fast new models are coming. What a tempo!

First look, i like both Diplodocus and Giganotosaurus ( first Haolonggood releases since Brachiosaurus that I'll consider to purchase). Looking forward to more photos.

Quote from: suspsy on July 20, 2025, 04:39:07 PMOh, so Giganotosaurus gets lips, but Tyrannosaurus doesn't because . . . "something something we thought it looked cooler that way"?

Don't get me wrong. This Giganotosaurus looks superb and I'm happy that it looks the way it does. I just really dislike how inconsistent Haolonggood is being about theropod lips.
I'd rather inconsistent lippage than no lipped figures at all

I'd rather a restaurant serve consistently good food than good food on some occasions and bad food on other occasions.

I don't think lipless Haolonggood theropods are equivalent to bad food.

Carnoking

Perhaps the negative feedback they received on the rex being lipless was enough to convince them to go the lipped route on their theropods despite pressures from other markets (if that is indeed the reason they went lipless to begin with)

If that is the case, then at least we can hope to see lips going forward but it is truly unfortunate that their T. rex offering ended up being the sacrificial lamb that got us here

Turkeysaurus

I think it's a lot to do with T.rex popularity beyond dino nerds.

Same reason why people got mad about feathered Tyrannosaurus.

If it was Tarbosaurus nobody would give a damn.  :D

Giganotosaurus and Diplodocus reveal, at the same time?!

The Giganotosaurus reminds me of Eofauna's, but much, much better. Oh look, blue, yellow and brown, what an unexpected choice of colors, and by unexpected I mean COMPLETELY EXPECTED!

I like blue and yellow the most, worried about this potentially being a bit undersized just like their Tyrannosaurus, Triceratops look huge next to that one.

The Diplodocus is amazing, paintjob looks way too good, like a designer's paint figure. Is it really gonna be like that in the final product? Also please make the other variant greenish...if you have to repeat the colors again, let those be of the Shantungosaurus this time please...

Turkeysaurus

I wonder if it will released as 3 variants or 2. Don't get attached too much.  :*D

I do wonder if that would be to small to see in the scale it is though

Giganotosaurus.
LIPS!!

HLG dropping hits one after another. Looks like the Giga also has an articulated jaw? Interested to see how it matches up with PNSO's jaw engineering - not easy with lips.

Still hoping for a lipped Qianzhousaurus with an articulated jaw from them  :||

Dippy looks gorgeous!

I think blue is the way to go for me too, reminds me of the Carnegie Giga.

I am in LOVE with the paintjob on the Dippy! Finally some variety and new styles from HLG!!! And a killed sculpt and pose to top it off! This thing looks wonderful. Just hoping the final is as good as this version!

honestly, at this point, 2nd factor in choosing the colour variant aside from obvious preference is "if i already own a HLG figure that wears the same uniform". I love all 3 colours of Giga, but blue is out of discussion for me because of blue Brachiosaurus  :*D

Yeah, same. I try to avoid repeating colors as much as I feasibly can and made a similar comment when discussing the Iguanodon. With how rare and unlikely blue is on extant animals it's the color I try to repeat the least.

That's precisely why I avoided the blue brachiosaurus - it was the most unrealistic to me out of the three choices. I couldn't conceive of any feasible environment in which that would work. Maybe as a Zahavian signal?
Just because I have a short attention span doesn't mean

Joliezac

I'm also a bit worried we will only see 2 of these color schemes. Didn't we see 3 different colors of the rex but then only 2 were released? I also thought they looked much different (and not as good in my opinion) when released. So I don't want to get my hopes up too much.

No, I think quite a lot of people would still be disappointed by it. Lips really are favoured by a majority of paleontologists nowadays. Any lipless theropod is pretty much on par with a featherless dromaeosaur.
