I also thought they looked much different (and not as good in my opinion) when released. So I don't want to get my hopes up too much.

now i am a bit worried too  :*D i love the "red" version a lot, it looks like it came out straight from the paleoart or documentary

Maybe one of those three schemes is the fancy schmancy edition that comes out later.

Quote from: Concavenator on July 20, 2025, 12:39:49 PMI was taking a look at the pics I took of the Iguanodon skeletons from Brussels' Natural Sciences Museum and this one was one of them:

Take a look at the one at the back. Its prominent nose area reminds me of HLG's figure. And no, those were no Altirhinus, they were Iguanodon bernissartensis. Just in case someone thinks HLG's got the nose wrong, or that their figure has got to be an Altirhinus.

Sometimes we forget that intraspecific variation is a thing.

Despite the high tempo of Giganoto and Dippy I would like to answer to your post avatar_Concavenator @Concavenator

You're absolutally right. That had been exactly my thought when I consulted my Iguanodon Special museum guide which includes all the Brussels specimens. I came to the same conclusion.

Diplodocus is wonderful - that's a must-have for sure. The paint on the neutral toned model looks outstanding!

The Diplodocus is amazing, paintjob looks way too good, like a designer's paint figure. Is it really gonna be like that in the final product? Also please make the other variant greenish...if you have to repeat the colors again, let those be of the Shantungosaurus this time please...

I agree, I'm worried about the paintjob on the actual final product not to be as well done, this seems to good to be true compare to HLG usuall standards, even on sauropods, those look more like sophisticated paint aps on prototype or designer paintjob.
Especially for the brown, it had more color complexity than the blue, there seem to be more tones than on the blue.

I would also hold my horses about the Diplodocus paint jobs. Most likely these are paint masters and not the final release designs. We have seen this many times with Haolonggood products.

But in any case 1) it is just great news that Haolonggood will release a Diplodocus, 2) the sculpt of that Diplodocus looks absolutely great, and 3) the Diplodocus appears to have a good size.

So no matter what the paint job will look like in the end, this will be a first day purchase for me. If I am not completely happy with the paint job, I will just get it repainted. No big deal.

Brachiosaurus & Diplodocus were working together in Morrison Formation. They can wear same uniform.

Also Diplodocus seems to have even darker , less blue-grey and more blue-black. Tail tip is just black.

More importantly are these color variants will be released? Stegosaurus had different color variants. So does T.rex.

Again don't get attached too much  ;) I agree with T @thomasw100 let's just enjoy the sculpture and size of it for now.

Let's wait and see when it has been released officialy. The Giga is not interesting for me.

Dippy is a save buy. An updated version from my beloved Invicta one (released in 1974) and the light blue Safari one (2017?) wuold be  great.

Definitely getting both figures, they look phenomenal. I like the blue version of both the most.

Not blue again! I said I wanted GREEN!

Was blue paint on discount and Haolonggood just decide to buy all the stock left?!

Damn it! The color contras is ruined! :'( I should've bought the green Brachiosaurus...

Maybe there is a green variant for Diplodocus ?

God knows i am gonna spend my unborn kids college fund if i ever have chance to order these things again. I will be more frantic than an obese Brendan Fraser ordering a pizza.

On a side note I don't know if HGL lips would be enough for me to prefer it over PNSO Mapusaurus which has a good price itself.

Looks like the mouth on Giga seals quite nicely! It might just be the bad video quality, but the ridge also looks more correct here than on the photos before; I hope we'll get some good quality closeup shots soon to really see how it looks. Either way, can't wait for this guy to come out! Really like how it looks so far  :D

Diplodocus also looks amazing. But it looks quite large, so I will probably have to skip it. I unfortunately don't have the space for larger figurines (yet).

Monkeysaurus

Wow I've criticized the blue brachiosaurus before but that Dippy looks amazing. I feel entranced! I may be forced to get more than one color. Is there any logical way a blue pattern like that would evolve naturally in the wild?

Giga video dropped.

That jaw articulation + lip seal looks really good...

It does look great! It's the first theropod that appears to be up to its Carcharodontosaurus' quality. I'm definitely picking one up. Setting aside the obvious scientific evidence supporting probable lips in theropods I actually think I'm at the point where I also prefer them aesthetically. That is to say I think it "looks cooler". Obviously science doesn't or shouldn't care about my preferences. I think I'm just burnt out on JP inspired models.

I don't know why anyone thinks the lipless look looks cool. It's an overbite, it looks derpy.

The Jurassic franchise has been as inconsistent with lips as Haolonggood. Some theropods, like the raptors and Dilophosaurus have lips, while other like the T. rex, don't.
