Monkeysaurus

I just meant barracuda esque in the sense that it's long and has sharp teeth. The collecta one is not up to my standards as far as realism is concerned, but thanks for the suggestion.

There are a lot more barracuda-like fish in the WIS. A lot of fish took on the long bodied shape because it makes swimming more efficient.
Aside from the size of the scales, the collecta figure is pretty dang close for Xiphactinus. It's one of the more common WIS fish, so reconstructing its skull and fins has become quite easy.
If that's not your speed, there's also this one by Rheic on Lana Time Shop:

Quote from: Halichoeres on July 26, 2025, 06:23:31 PMFor me, some of the most interesting animals aren't even dinosaurs, they're arthropods, fish, early synapsids. A few of those work in 1:35 but most do not. A 1:35 Goticaris would fit inside a human epithelial cell.
Yeah same here. If I really wanted all of my collection to be in the same scale I would never be able to own both a Diplodocus and a Microraptor, let alone something like an Opabinia.
Its cool if I have animals that lived together or closely related species in the same scale but by and large I really couldn't care less about scale.

There are 1:35 figures of Microraptor and Anomalocaris by independent artists!

Yes, I know.  But I'm interested not in scale when acquiring new models but in visual impact.  I want representations with the kind of detail I'd have on a larger scale model.  Some people like to collect models all in the same scale; others have other criteria when adding models to their collection.  Neither is right or wrong, just different perspectives.

Turkeysaurus

Back to PNSO: Somehow i ordered Lokiceratops from some store named Xing Pai on Aliexpress. Hopefully they are trustable. Official PNSO price is above customs limits so not available. Same for anyother store.

Even if they send original figure there is a 50-50 chance this will be stuck at customs because some new regulations.

It cost me 42.5 Euro total btw (29 Euro + Taxes) I hope it won't be wasted for nothing in return.

It's not the most wanted figure for me but my options are very limited nowadays and since i pay 30-35 Euro per small Haolonggood ceratopsians it made sense. At least it has some size and PNSO quality.

I've recently bought from Xing Pai and had no problems.  Goods arrived on time and as advertised, avatar_Turkeysaurus @Turkeysaurus

Thanks, now i'll just wait and see what's gonna happen at customs.

Edit: I had to cancel the order because goverment consider 3 Euro for shipment even it's free shipment and add it to price.

29 Euro + 3 Euro = 32 Euro = stuck in customs.

I thought i might pay extra 3 Euro but that doesn't appear to be case.

Berno

Quote from: SidB on July 26, 2025, 01:02:19 PMSure 'nuff, avatar_Berno @Berno and avatar_oscars_dinos @oscars_dinos , when I receive it from Lana, I'll add it to the New Aquisitions thread. Should be 2-3 weeks before it hits my doorstep. It's going to be a candidate for painting, clearly. Gives me a bit of time to consider the colors to use. Any suggestions are welcome ... .
Due to the size I suggest something simple, like a Pileated Woodpecker.

Does that mean nano isn't real

I've seen the specimen up close and unfortunately I think it's going to throw a wrench in the works and continue muddying the waters because the skull is mostly complete but significantly more robust than Jane's
Here's a photo from March of this year. Notice how much taller the nose and dentary are!

This was my impression as well after seeing it in December(?) but wondered if perhaps anyone had heard anything more concrete on the matter.

Not only the robustness of the skull, note that it has few teeth in the maxilla, like Tyrannosaurus, considerably less than those suppossedly young rexes, nanotyrnnus. Also the holotype of nano apparently has EFS so it was an old adult.

Monkeysaurus

He finally arrived! Smaller than I thought it would be.

That's my precious 1/35 wall, however I think he looks great on it. Maybe I can let this 1/20 Triassic bozo stay with the big boys. Maybe he's a 1/35 of a different species of goobersaurus? I was gonna start a separate area on the wall for out of scale marine life but idk. Maybe I'm over thinking it.
