Look who arrived!

Some comparisons here.

JohannesB

A beautiful Iguanodon figure, maybe the best at this price point. I bought the buff/violet version, but this blue-grey one is possibly even more eye catching.

SidB

Really nice. But I think that I'll get that errant digit (V) corrected. Easy fix.

Jose S.M.

What's the deal with the nose? Is it within possibility for and Iguanodon? If not could this be used as Altirhinus stand in? It's a lovely figure for sure.

crazy8wizard

There's apparently a distorted skull on one of the skeletons at Bernissart that has a round tall nose, but not many others seem to have them. You probably could use it as an Altirhinus stand in.

SenSx

I really like that Iguanodon figure, but I don't know what to think of this pump nose.
It does annoy me less than the PNSO though, and I wonder if it could be worth it to ask Dinosaur_model_artwork to remove it.

It has wrong little finger too, right?

It had quite slipped my attention that this year marks the bicentennial of the discovery of this landmark genus. Thanks to DinosDragons for pointing it out.

Turkeysaurus

I just bought Maiasaura (brown-purple) , Euhelopus (Brown)

Normally i was waiting for PNSO to make Maiasaura with accurate crest. However what's the point if can't get it anyway? No way PNSO would be under 30 Euro. I'll probably get Amargasaurus too for that reason.

Turkeysaurus

Iguanodon isn't available too. C:-)
This is answer why:

"Hi,we can't able to ship to your contry now.As there is need the Turkey Representative in your counry, but we don't have it."

What does that mean? That there isn't a Turkish representative in China or that there isn't a Chinese representative in Turkey? I don't understand why that would even matter in the first place. That sucks man, I'm sorry. Wonder if there's a work around?
Just because I have a short attention span doesn't mean

There needs to be a representative in Turkey for every foreign store.

Here is a few custom rules:

1.30 Euro limit per order. Shipping INCLUDED.

2.Only 5 item per month.

3.If it's freeshipping , goverment charges 3 Euro (probably 27 Euro limit in that case)

4. Every foreign store needs to have a representative in Turkey. (Nobody knows how's that gonna work)

5. If your product stuck at customs you must hire an official to get it. Ut cost so much more with added extreme taxes so people prefer to waste their money and do not get their items and  unless it's really important (Customs sell all those stuff later at a bidding to businessman and make profit)

6. Shipping is also gets taxed by the way.

7. If your product still somehow gets through custom with no problems you'll be taxed 30% for items from EU , 60% for non EU countries.

8. Even If you earn an award (like YouTube Play Button or Plaques) or somebody sends you a gift it'll be still stuck at customs if it's deemed more than 30 Euro and you have to go through same procedure at number 5.  ::D

All these things just because they don't want to it to be called a ban. Local businessmen are behind this because they bring some of the same products but sell multiple times more expensive to the people.

Obviously nobody brings these brands. Not even papo nowadays. Even if they do they would sell 5 to 10 times more expensive.

I even forgot to mention 1 Euro is equal to 50 Turkish lira.  :))

Sorry for long post. I guess i needed to vent.

I don't understand why it's all so complicated. It's just a way to take as much revenue for the government as possible? I sometimes have to send things to my mothers house because some carriers no longer deliver to PO Boxes anymore and it's always a pain in the butt because you don't know which will or won't until after an attempted delivery. Your situation seems much worse however, and I'm sorry you have to deal with all of that nincompoopery.

I can think a few good reasons:

1. First and mostly, Local business demands it so they can sell same products for much more expensive to us.

2. Government profit a lot more if you have to buy something more than customs limit.

3. Turkish currency/economy so fragile government don't want turkish money goes outside.

4. It looks more democratic than just ban it.

5. Smugglers who has connections with "important" people can make good profit for them because everything so expensive if you buy legally.

Beautiful Iggy!

BTW my Shantungosaurus arrived. Wow it's BIG lol. And heavy! Probably my heaviest dino figure. Will be reviewing it on the Blog in upcoming weekds.

Looking forward to this review. More than a few of my purchases have been swayed by a good analysis of a released figure of which I had been sitting on the fence, waiting for just such a recommendation.

Monkeysaurus

This little miscreant arrived today. Looks great in hand, however I have to admit you guys were right about the nose making it look like a different species. Next to the PNSO Iguanodon they almost don't even look like the same genus let alone species.

HLG ditching their Giganotosaurus figures strikes me as completely unnecessary. Hopefully the final version will somehow represent an improvement, but sans some pretty minor (to my eyes, anyway) inaccuracy, it was looking great. As it was, I would've still considered it the best Giganotosaurus figure yet.

If we're talking about modifying models this way, the Maiasaura, Dilophosaurus and Amargasaurus would've drastically benefited from it. They're nice figures, but they fall shorter in the accuracy department than one would expect from a "scientific" company like HLG.

Anyhow. Let's see what the final version of the Giga will look like.

I also think some people are making too much of an issue with the nose of the HLG Iguanodon. It's totally within reason, both owing to that Brussels specimen I previously showed or one could just attribute it to soft tissue and call it a day. The real issue with the figure (which, BTW, I don't think it's that big of a deal) is the clawed D-V.

They seem to have same lenght if they both had neutral pose or even HLG is longer based on DinosDragons estimations. (29 cm for HLG vs 27.5 cm for PNSO ) Which one is bulkier from top view? PNSO usually makes bulkier dinosaurs than HLG.
