avatar_Faelrin @Faelrin Oh yeah, I remember seeing the Papo Parasaurolophus on the Brachiosaurus box now that you remind me.
I also think you're totally right about the Stegosaurus and Brachiosaurus.

I would also like to know just in case I come across them!

New clearer pics for the upcoming novel HC species. Not sure how I feel about Dryosaurus's permanent(?) scream.

andrewsaurus rex

Permanent scream or not, the Dryosaurus really is a nice sculpt.  If it is to scale, then it will be a fairly small figure (about 6 inches long) that has a tiny head and i don't think the permanent scream (or mating/warning call) will be a problem for me.

The Mussaurus still looks ok, for a juvenile and the Ornitholestes is still quite forgettable.

I still hold hope that the final product is improved compared to these prototypes, I've been waiting for a dryosaurus.

The fact that the re-imagined line has had 2 different Dominion sets which makes me ask: reimagined from what?

The Dryosaurus...

None of those HC releases impress me much. I want to like the Dryosaurus but...well...look at it. You mean to tell me that mouth is not articulated? It better be or I don't want it.

Not impressed with the Reimagined set either. Real feel skin is always cool but this line hasn't offered anything essential to my collection since the Carnotaurus.

andrewsaurus rex

at least the back sail thingy on the new Giga is reduced. i hope that is the start of a trend.  Still need to get rid of the big, goofy arms though.  Maybe Mattel will eventually 'Rebirth' Giga into a more sci. accurate one.

I like the Dryosaurus...the mouth doesn't bother me at all.  But i suspect the figure will be way too big.

crazy8wizard

I'm not sure why everyone is set on the dryosaurus mouth not being articulated when,
A: this is at best a 240p resolution photo from a projector screen taken from the audience and scaled up to full size, so details are likely to go missing until we see a clearer photo.
B: there seems to be a rounded seam line at the back of the jaw anyways. Looks kinda like what the BOTM ceratopsians did with their jaw articulation.

Some of the articulation points in all 3 look washed out by the resolution but even if you can't see them in the photo they're still probably there.

PrimevalRaptor

Yeah even if this pic isn't perfect it made me go "hey that could be articulation" but either way I am still very excited for that Dryosaurus, really lovely color pattern (especially compared to the rather simple Ornitholestes)

Faelrin

I'm keeping my expectation with the Dryosaurus low until we have images absolutely confirming the jaw articulation. I'll probably get it regardless as I've been wanting a Dryosaurus from them for some time. It will be nice to have alongside the HC Allosaurus, Brachiosaurus, Ceratosaurus, Stegosaurus, Legacy Apatosaurus and Diplodocus, the new HC Ornitholestes revealed, and the mainline Coelurus and Hesperosaurus. Aside from a few other famous genera like Camarasaurus, Camptosaurus, Nanosaurus, Torvosaurus, etc, that don't have figures from them yet, it's still impressive how many from the Morrison Formation they've made into figures now. A sizable portion are film canon animals, with the others from soft canon, novel, or not at all.

(I mean, obviously this is an atrocious attempt at "upscaling" and the actual toy will look  nothing like this, but still.)

Eatmycar

I don't think Mattel has ever done an herbivore in a permanent scream. I doubt Dryosaurus will start that trend, frankly.

Maybe it has a swappable head or something? I don't know, but I don't think these tiny, blurry sasquatch kind of photos are telling us the whole picture.

Giga and Theri are nice, but I'm a bit miffed they didn't opt to re-use their Hammond Collection sculpts? Like, the Giga's stupid teeth in the main line were bad enough. But HC fixed that. And now we're revering back to the Indominus teeth? It's very frustrating. Same thing with Therizinosaurus' massive teeth. I really don't want to exacto knife my Therizinosaurus' teeth after unboxing it.

Well, just like they've never done an herbivore in a permanent scream, they've never used a Hammond Collection sculpt for a non-Hammond Collection product. It is unfortunate though, they should have done a completely new sculpt for the Giga. Or head sculpt, at least. The paintjob and real feel skin are cool but not cool enough for those ugly toys.

I think they took they took their main shot with all the Rebirth releases and Spino/Stego. These are all just filler. Next month starts 4th quarter so hopefully we get something good then.

Yeah, after how much I've spent on this first Rebirth wave (and still not done) I'm alright with taking a break.

The colours are taken from an old Kenner Dilo and Velo. No idea why they put them on a Giga and Theri though
Shrek 4 is an underrated masterpiece
