Okay,so this will be my collection thread from now on.Just realized I haven't updated it since last year  :o
Anyways, here it is again. Not the biggest collection, but I like it so far.I'm planning to sell most of my Schleich's plus some Papos (the JP inspired ones) when I'm older. :)

My Carnegie shelf.I've got the new Velociraptor today I'm not all disappointed,it's a striking model! The sculpt, especially the details are a tad better in person than any videos/photos could show.

My Wild Safari shelf.I plan on having a bigger shelf for this line, but given I've got few Wild Safari models I'll just leave them here at the moment. O:-) There's also a Mojo Stegosaurus in the background (it was given to me) and it could sound weird, but it smells terrible  :o  :P

My CollectA shelf.I got the Carcharodontosaurus for my birthday, which was back in October, but haven't posted it until now.Happily,it doesn't fall over,as I had originally feared.

My Schleich shelf. Not much to say about this one,I'll sell all with the exception of the Saichania, the Parasaurolophus, the Quetz and the prehistoric mammals.I have some McFarlane dragons as well.

More McFarlane dragons  ;)

My Bullyland shelf plus an old Schleich Apatosaurus.I realized I have some rarities now (the Batrachotomus and the Arizonasaurus).

Another shot of the same shelf.

And finally,my Papo shelf. My last acquisition was the Dilophosaurus which I got this summer, but, same as with the Carcharodontosaurus, haven't gotten to post it until now.  :P

Hope you like kt so far!  ;D

P.S.Those pics were taken with an Ipad. The original photos looked completely normal, but now,Photobucket put it reverse. It's so annoying  >:( Same with my art thread, don't know what's happening!
Would lovesome help please  :-\

kreativtek

Great collection. I am wondering why want to sell your Papo dinosaurs? They may not be the most accurate figurines around, but they look lovely on the shelf. However, given your interest in other collections, I understand that you need money to purchase more dinosaurs. Good luck!

As for the picture quality problem, try imgur. It's a free hosting service that allows you to embed photos without any modifications. I do not know for how long they store images, though.

sauroid

cool collection Concav. you've come a long way since you were still Juan Andres in DTF. congrats. hope to see better pics soon. ;)
"you know you have a lot of prehistoric figures if you have at least twenty items per page of the prehistoric/dinosaur section on ebay." - anon.

Concavenator

Thank you guys for your replies!   :D

@kreativtek:If anything,I'd sell the JP based ones.I loved them before, but I've changed now,I want my dinos accurate(or halfly accurate,at least  >:D ).They're great as far as sculpts go,but they don't make very good restorations of the animals they represent though.I still have to think about that.I still somehow like some of them, like the Tyrannosaurus, but I can't stand somes like the 'Velociraptor' (ugh). So we'll see what happens.I still have to catch up releases from previous years.I happen to be a really slow collector. Also,I'll have to look into that.My pics used to be normal before, but since the computer I posted the images with doesn't work any more,I think I'll stick with the Ipad.Thank you for the advice. :)

@sauroid:Thank you,I hope to have better photos soon  :-X

...I think I see the Carnegie Velociraptor - I really love the colors on that model, I just wished the teeth were individualized....

Things can get really tricky if you rule out collectibles based on JP and accuracy. For example, your Papo Stegosaurus might be more accurate than your Bullyland Therizinosaurus...and your Papo Triceratops might still be more accurate than your Schleich Allosaurus, despite the association with JP. The CollectA Deinocheirus would also need to be modded in accordance with the latest findings.

Concavenator

Yes,that's why I was saying that I hope Safari makes a Deinocheirus.
JP is not an example to follow. If you want to depict an accurate dinosaur beginning with the skeleton, search for skeletals of good authors like Scott Hartman, instead of sticking with consultators, who in general have a very poor knowledge of dinosaurs. For example, some people at Schleich called the Pentaceratops a Triceratops, and things like that.
I can buy,for example,a Papo Tupuxuara that lacks pycnofibers but it's otherwise very accurate than the ugly, pathetic Tylosaurus.Just saying...
Thanks  :)

I know that JP is not an example to follow, but I'm just saying that there are a lot of non-JP based models from rival companies that are even less accurate than some JP models. For example, 75% of Schleich models, some first and second generation WS models, and a fraction of CollectA models are outdated.

What is more accurate?  Schleich Allosaurus or Papo Stegosaurus?  Bullyland Therizinosaurus or Papo Triceratops?

Also, you've mentioned the inaccurate Papo Tylosaurus. Notice how that model is non-JP. In summary, there are accurate non-JP models and there are relatively accurate JP models. There are inaccurate JP models and there are inaccurate non JP models.

I'm almost certain that some of the dinosaurs in Jurassic World will be depicted poorly, but there will be a handful of dinosaurs that will be represented fairly.

P.S: Your collection is quite nice and I like how you have dedicated shelves based on company or theme.

Awesome collection, but can you fix your photos so they're not upside down? :)

Concavenator

@tanystropheus:Yes,that's true.Perhaps one day I'll put a shelf where I'll include all the retro models. Some look nice, especially the Papo ones.

@suspsy:That's what I'm trying to do.As I said it's very odd because the photos that were originally uploaded looked perfectly normal  ???  :P

suspsy

Weird. Good luck with that then.

Lovely collection friend  ^-^. In which store you buy your Safari figures, spanish partner ?
[Off Nick and Eddie's reactions to the dinosaurs] Oh yeah "Ooh, aah", that's how it always starts. But then there's running and screaming.

{about the T-Rex) When he sees us with his kid isn't he gonna be like "you"!?

Concavenator

Hello, :)
I will have to update this thread,as it is two years since I last posted!  ;D There are quite some figures I have got since then,it used to be a not so big collection, and yet it isn't now,but I try to choose the best figures.
I am a slow collector as hell!  ;D
Today,I just ordered the new Safari Velociraptor for my birthday ,when it comes I will post up a big update  :)

Also, one question,I haven't posted any pic since the Photobucket purge, where can I register to post up pics in the forum?

Try Postimage, works pretty fine.

Shonisaurus

Dear compatriots, Concavenator and Jetoar:  :)

Now they are sold in Spain (Safari is marketed by a very competent company in the following shops stores of alcaiceria (Granada), shop.nahico.com (Canarias) and in the Store of the Museum of Natural Sciences of Madrid. the online stores that we know always (arrive obviously much earlier than in Spain).

I give you directions:

www.alcaiceria.com
shop.nahico.com
And in Madrid as I said the Museum of Natural Science is sold apart from this I suppose that the figures of Safari will be sold in other stores in Spain.  :)

Concavenator

Okay, seems I'll try Postimage next time.

Yes,indeed I ordered my Velociraptor from nahico.Normally I would order from Dan's Dinosaurs or Everything Dinosaur, but I opted for nahico this time as the delivery comes sooner.

I'm surprised the museum of Madrid gets Safaris now, then it is awesome news indeed!  :D
